Terrible customer service. The store manager Mike has the worst attitude - needs to re-think why he is in business.

We interviewed 10 different pool companies before making our decision, and Thunderbird Pools ultimately delivered exactly what we were looking for on time, and on budget! The design process was outstanding from the very beginning. Jeff Hyler (our designer) was incredibly knowledgeable, creative, and professional. During the very first onsite visit, he measured the space and produced an initial design complete with pricing and visual renderings. That immediate concept helped us clearly understand what was possible within our budget and set Thunderbird apart from every other company we interviewed. None of the other vendors offered anything close to the same level of interactive design capability or onsite visualization tools, and it made an excellent first impression. After comparing proposals from multiple pool builders, including pricing, pool size, and features, we ultimately chose Thunderbird Pools because of the quality of the design process, our confidence in the team, the professionalism of the company and staff, and the overall value offered. The showroom in Surprise offered various color options and the designer Jeff was extremely helpful in making selections! Before construction and permitting began, communication was excellent. Once the project started, Joe Hernandez was onsite regularly and did an exceptional job overseeing the subcontractors and maintaining quality control. His experience was obvious, and he consistently paid attention to details, communicated expectations clearly, and kept the project moving efficiently. We always felt confident that the schedule, workmanship, and overall project quality were being managed closely. We were also impressed with the subcontractors Thunderbird used throughout the project. They were skilled, professional, punctual, and worked efficiently according to the company's online schedule and project portal. They never left construction debris when they were done and tried to keep the area very clean. Thunderbird's internal project managers also communicated consistently through phone calls and emails, keeping us informed during each phase of construction. Overall, the company demonstrated excellent organization, communication, and project management from start to finish. Most importantly, the project stayed within our target budget, and the overall construction process went smoothly in the timeline anticipated. After completion, Brandon Thompson handled the equipment startup, testing, and training process. Brandon was outstanding , highly knowledgeable about all the pool systems, thorough in testing functionality, and extremely helpful with maintenance and scheduling recommendations. He not only completed the initial startup and training but also returned multiple times afterward to ensure everything was operating perfectly and to answer any additional questions we had. In the end, the project was completed on time, on budget, and exceeded our expectations. With just a little more upfront clarity regarding owner's site pre-grading responsibilities and protection of existing property during construction, the experience would have been beyond expectations. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering building a pool.

Absolutely Amazing!…read more Not only did Dolphin Pools meet our expectations, they blew them completely out of the water (pun intended). I don't use words like spectacular, incredible, amazing, and awesome lightly. The process of building a pool is groundbreaking, in the literal sense. The timeline for this process took roughly 3 months from the dig to jumping into the water for a swim. Allow me to remind you that the process is never going to be perfect for such a large project. There are many stages to this massive commitment, such as designing, mapping, digging, plumbing, electrical lines, concrete, travertine, city permits, dealing with HOAs (and the list goes on). None of this is going to go without delays, corrections, ordering additional parts, weather issues, etc. That said, the experience with Dolphin Pools was nearly flawless every step of the way. My wife and I did our research, and based on Google/Yelp reviews, we decided to contact Dolphin Pools. From what I understand, there are a number of designers, but we had the great fortune of having Drew Siler assist us with designing our dream pool. From the moment we met Drew, we were instantly impressed and quickly moved forward with the project. Not only is Drew kind, honest, and thoughtful, but very professional. We had a plan, and Drew walked us through every detail with 3D pool design renderings. He listened to our wants, but always kept us grounded with what was possible within our property and budget. Drew made himself available at all times to answer our questions and continued to do so through the entire process. He told us it was possible to have the pool completed by my wife's birthday in September if everything went smoothly, and we made it. He is truly a man of his word and we couldn't thank him enough. I have to mention the excellent staff at Dolphin Pools as well. I would like to thank Nick, our Field Project Manager, who managed the many crews throughout the project. Also to the team managers Katie, Brenda, Laurie, Maria, and Tania that kept us informed through text, emails, and phone calls every step of the way. The crews included Hagarty Electric, Scholz Rebar, V Shotcrete Construction, Superior Pool Plastering, ACE Pool Repair and so many others. If you decide on getting a pool built, you should definitely consider Dolphin Pools. It's nerve-racking, noisy, dusty, and will inconvenience you for months, but I would do it all over again to get the perfect dream pool that we envisioned. We highly recommend Dolphin Pools, and 10 stars is not even close to enough!

We decided to remodel the pool in 2026 and went right back to California Pools & Landscape to complete the remodel. We found the company still had our original plans from 1999, which made the entire process so much easier. Designer, Erich Mack, was the first to respond and gave us a quote and recommendations. He was very professional and thorough. When we went to the design center, met with Erich, and he assisted us in choosing our pebble tec, tile for the pool remodel. He made excellent suggestions and turned out beautifully. Next, we met Stephen Dreher, who was our construction superintendent. Stephen worked with us every step of the way and and answered any and all questions and concerns we had. To put it simply, he was awesome. Our hardscape superintendents, Ron and Alan, also made excellent suggestions on how to landscape the perimeter of the pool. We want to thank them for their insight and expertise on their design ideas. We decided to go with flagstone all around the pool and spa. The landscape crew included brothers Rueben and Randy, and what an excellent installation they did with the flagstone. Amazing. Last but not least was our coordinator and scheduler, Leann. She worked with us every step of the way. Leann constantly kept us informed and updated as the process continued. We always knew what was happening and when. Overall, the entire experience with California Pool & Landscape was seamless, and efficient. We couldn't be happier with the end result, and would highly recommend this company for any and all pool needs. Thank you California Pools and Landscape.

It is now May 7th... twice the specified time frame, and my pool looks like this. Just demo... Demo occured the beginning of February. Since then, many calls and text go unanswered. Little to no work has been done. Nobody at Sunstate Pools can tell me whats going on. I could go on for pages ... but ... so if you want your pool to look like this... definetly hire Sunstate pools... But if you actually want to be using your pool in the contracted timeframe... pick another company. I can't even look in my backyard I'm so dissapointed. I filed tonight with the ROC for abandoment of my job. As of today, there are 7 other pending complaints with the ROC. Update May 16th 2026: After I filed a complaint of abandoment with the ROC, they showed up to do some work. About a day and a half worth of work in over 7 days time. The really cool thing is they attempted to build my new baja step. But they used hand mixed concrete, instead of shotcrete, and they ran out mid job. So their plan is to add additional concrete to existing layers, which will result in cracking and failure in the future. Now I am faced with paying another contractor to remove what they have done wrong and redo the work. What a nightmare... stay away. When I tried to bring this to the attention of Chris Cosiano and Jake... of course there was no reply. Check out my new photos... if you want a disaster like this and to waste 10's of thousands of dollars... call this company. Also check out the trash they left in my pool from the cement bags... Now I get to clean that out too.
