I purchased a pool cleaner on line and needed to return it. I first brought it to the location on Irvine Blvd and was told 1) they don't accept returns from on line, then 2) they don't know how to do returns from on line purchases (comments from that store manager name David). We were told to go to the Orange location because they had 4 employees and could do the return. We went over to this location and the ONE employee (I didn't see 4) returned it for me within a couple of minutes. Friendly, courteous, helpful and returned the order. We will only come to this location bc of today's and past experiences. read more

Both Yorba Linda and Anaheim Hills have closed thier doors now so I drove all the way to this store to have a water test done and buy supplies. Apparently internet was and has been down with no idea when it would be back up, so no water tests. Ended up driving even further to the Tustin store in the opposite direction to get it done. read more

We originally went to the Tustin location but got sent to this Orange location because the Tustin sales associate was new and didn't feel comfortable giving any advice on variable speed pump and pool heater. We worked with Jonas who was extremely helpful and patiently answered all of our questions. He showed us different options for variable speed pumps, explained gas vs. electric heater vs. heat pump, and gave us some tips to save energy. We could tell that he was very knowledgeable. I used to come here monthly to buy chemicals. After a visit where the teen employee made me wait while he did some stocking task, and then didn't even try to answer a question I had, I posted a 1 star review. So an update -- after that day, I checked online and found I could get the chemicals on Amazon. So now that's what I do each month. I eat at chipotle next door weekly, and would have gladly popped in to buy chemicals even in the Amazon era, even during covid, but now I'm used to just ordering them online. Why am I posting this? I'm a business owner myself. My hope is that this store's owner will see this and get the message that in the era of Amazon, training staff is super important for brick and mortar stores. If you are losing customers, don't just blame the era. Friendly helpful staff can make a big difference too. read more

Terrible customer service in the Orange store. It depends on the salesperson you have that determines what chemicals you need for your pool. They argue with each other at the counter about what they each think about what and how much chemicals to buy. You might want to try another pool supply store. It will save wasting your time and money on needless products. read more

My wife went to Leslie's to pick up chemicals for the pool the salesman convinced her to buy $130 chemical and did not tell her it was not returnable. I return to the store the next day with receipt in hand and sealed chemical container only to find the store clerk digging out a plaquard hidden behind several items that stated that they could not take returns on chemicals even if they were sealed and you have a receipt. Don't trust them, they clearly mislead my wife and it cost my family $130. They don't care about service. Update! I was contacted by the management of this company, and was allowed to be refunded the cost of the chemicals! Thank you! Also, I noticed on my arrival that the entire counter space was cleaned up, and the policy is now in clear and unobstructed view to customers! read more

I had some broken hoses for my pool cleaner. I was greeted by Nick and Dylan. Dylan walked me back to the area and showed me where an exact match could be found. Nick was being very courteous and patient with a rude and grumpy person. Nick was nothing but kind and professional to the rude customer. We only went here because it was the nearest place. They where a little helpful helping find our products but they acted like aggressive car salesman trying to sell the most expensive products. Also, when we got the product it wasn't closed properly and spilt in my car. We wasted $30 dollars. Now that we know what to get we are ordering online, that's the only way to go. read more

Meh... minus one star after I got versed enough to know how marked up the prices at Leslie's are... they claim that some of their products (ex: 3" chlorine tablets) are made "better" than the competitions... I can't say yay or nay... but they look and feel the same... either way, I bought into it and grabbed a huge bucket's worth. As for other stuff, like algae shock, algaecide (which isn't the best thing to use in your pool), pH up or down, brushes, nets, skimmers, chlorine floaters, and telescopic poles... you're better off going to Amazon.com or hitting up Home Depot... But don't take my word for it, go ahead and compare prices & quality for yourself... Another thing that kinda got me about this place, is that there are flyers advertising "packages" that you can buy, but none of them have prices... so that you could compare what the difference is if you bought everything separately... and not to mention the "How to Get the Green Out" write-up that they hand customers, which seemed like it was written more for a chemist, and was just a plug for their products... And after a few month of trying it, my pool has never looked better. Don the store manager is amazing, he walks you step by step and is very thorough, he's a walking pool encyclopedia. Helped me get whatever I needed and advised I don't waste money on what I didn't. The water analyzer machine they have is amazing. I have shopped at this store since February 2001 and have always gotten good service...until today. The girl that was working the store was rude and could care less what I needed. She shouted from across the store when I asked her a question and did not move from where she was leaning back against the counter. She pointed in the direction of what I was looking for and told me she couldn't hear me when I asked her something else. Send my 17 year old daughter to pick up black algae chemical, they told her we need to put in a shock treatment in at the same time then the algae treatment. Well the instructions said don't mix any other chemicals for two days. Also talked her into buying a tub of 25 pounds instead of two packs, then refused to take it back even all we ask for was store credit. We now have enough shock treatment for years but it only has a short shelf life. Otherwise always liked going there and the knowledge i can get there. The review on the black algae treatment btw is great. There store policy is not to take chemicals back :( read more

I recommend this location for your pool needs. I recently purchased a home with a pool and had no knowledge on the care for the pool. Employee Josh was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Josh gave me a bottle so I can bring a water sample. My pool was all out of whack. Josh set me up with a schedule for which chemicals to use with time frame. By the next day, my pool was amazing. Josh took the time to explain the chemistry needed and made it very easy to understand. read more

Generally I have had good service at this store but yesterday morning, was not one of those days. I got there and there was only gentleman working and there were two people ahead of me getting their water tested. I waited about 45 minutes for those two customers to be assisted. The man running the counter is not normally at this store - he floats to different stores, so everything he did it took him longer than usual, as things were not in the place he expected them to be. When he finally got to me there were now 5 people in line behind me. He was talking a great deal while doing the tests and it made me uncomfortable with the results he got. I bought what he recommended anyhow as I didn't want to make another trip, especially to wait that long. I also found an item I wanted off the clearance shelf - but it had no price which caused yet another delay in him having to call someone to find out what to charge for it. The poor people behind me must have been there over an hour. One guy left - don't blame him. And then when I finally checked out the cable to the CC machine was loose and the guy couldn't figure out where the problem was, so he had to move me to the other computer. The phone was ringing, he couldn't find the phone. The store needed more staff - one person to test water and one to ring merchandise. They lost sales due to the long wait. The store was not organized - with missing price tags on clearance. I was so unsure of my test results that I actually took another sample to another Leslies that afternoon and the retest came up partially different - ugh. Management needs to run this store a little tighter, hire another person, and make sure testing is accurate. I was told I needed 8 bags of salt - the next Leslies said 2....um, had I used 8 bags I probably would have had to drain my entire pool! read more

You can save yourself s lot of money if you do your own pool vs hiring a pool service, and it's fun. Who doesn't like being outside? Best of all Leslie's offers free water testing. Walked in with plans to buy a new filter pump system for our pool. I was with my wife and our son. When we walked in there was one customer in the store with three employees all engaged in a conversation with him. About 30 seconds later another customer, who was known to at least one of the employees, walked in and was addressed and helped immediately. He walked out with his chemicals five minutes after walking in. Meanwhile my wife and I were standing in front of the big pump display as our son was looking at inflatable rafts and bringing them to us to try to convince us to buy them. A couple other customers walked in and were helped as we stood there, without any of the three staff members even addressing u, acknowledging us, or saying "we'll be right with you." I took our kid outside to go on a walk after about 15 minutes. After five more minutes my wife came outside pissed off -- she had still not been acknowledged. Bummer for Leslie's. We walked in prepared to buy a new pump -- somewhere in the rang of $900- $1400, and walked out because you guys wouldn't even say hello. I hope this was an anomaly and not your normal brand of customer service, but as a new homeowner and pool owner in the neighborhood we won't be going back to this crummy store. read more

I've been going to this store for 2 years and the staff is awesome. When I first started to take care of my pool without a pool guy, it turned green! Thankfully I found this store and Katrina. She has been a great educator on how to maintain my pool. She offers great practical advice that works! Everyone is very helpful and they go above and beyond to help their customers. Katrina taught me everything about taking care of my pool without a sales pitch -- she has truly invested her time, knowledge and continues to offer her expertise. I now have a regular routine and visit Lesile's in Orange on a bi-monthly schedule where the staff helps me maintenance a clean, clear and well balanced pool. Recently, I went into Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies on Chapman Ave. to inquire about purchasing a new skimmer for our pool. Although the store did not stock skimmers, Don, the store manager referred me to one of their other stores that did. Not only did I purchase a skimmer that day at a reasonable price (compared to shopping on the Internet), I also gained a wealth of information that likely saved me a lot of money. Don was so helpful and even provided me with information about my pool that I was not aware of. He is very knowledgeable and I would recommend him and Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies to anyone that wants excellent customer service, as I also observed that he was very helpful to other customers in the store. read more

WATCH OUT!! SCAM ALERT! DO NOT CALL LESLIE'S SERVICE!! They an Unknowledgable, Scam artists. Our pool pump was making a loud noise. We checked it out and did some research and figured out it was the bearing which is a pretty inexpensive common fix. We called Leslie's service (who we had used before with mixed feelings/results) and told them that our pump needed new bearings and could they fix that. They said No problem and set up a service. Service guy BRYAN came today he immediately went to the back and said "your pump is burnt out". Then went on to listing all of these other things that he needed to "fix" . My husband said yeah anyways what about the pump and no it's not broken it's clearly running it just needs new bearings. Bryan said "Oh yeah we don't do that. All i can do is get you a new pump". So we called leslies and talked to Christina while he was there and they said "oh yeah we dont do bearings". We asked why did they book us if we clearly said the problem was the bearings. Meanwhile then the service wanted to be paid his $110 and proceeded to them get on the phone and being very rude. The girl Christina said to come in and she could give us some discounts on products or chemicals. We said no thank you. Basically they knew they didn't fix bearings b/c it's a cheap fix and wanted to scam us into a million more costly purchases. This is NOT how you do business in today's world! What a waste of our time and a unpleasant experience. NEVER AGAIN. read more
