Just realized I never finished this review from last year. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism from this company. He wanted to raise the cost of his service because we were using the pool more (pools are meant to be used!) and because the property value of our home went up (which only benefits us if we sell) instead of simply saying the cost of pool supplies has gone up. He cut and disabled the salt water system without asking because he said it's easier for him to maintain the pool that way and wouldn't switch it back. When we finally agreed on a new price for the service, he did it for awhile and then just up and quit, saying he was working too hard and not making any money. He never emptied the big filter canister on the sweeper vacuum, he did not spend a lot of time scrubbing the pool, and never cleaned the main filter. read more

I had been with Ashworth pool care for approximately 10 years or so and in the last couple of years we had had some consistent issues. Every time I tried to address the pumping problem it was like I was bothering them and they would tell me thew problem was non existent. I felt bad and usually hold on to vendors for a long time understanding things happen. I let them know that I was having the same problem again on October 29, 2021 after the pool man left. I asked why don't you guys check it while you're out here. Within one hour I was served with a resignation of service letter. They did recommended some replacement companies. I found the whole thing distasteful and tacky as well as not solving the problem but just getting rid of what they thought was a problem which was me. You guys are in business to do pool care and I was not getting good pool care at all. Although Blake and Blair are very really nice people, good human beings. I realize that it's tough to find good people to help but to terminate me because of your lack of having the right employees, again I think was distasteful. Fast forward to today I was able to find somebody literally the next day over at my park across the street and asked him to help me. Since then he has fixed the vacuum leak that was causing all the problems in the first place that I had complained for over 4 years about. I've had no issues whatsoever since and the price was $40 less than Ashworth pool care. I didn't really want to make a stink about it but I waited over a year to write this review just to see if it was truly my family that was the issue and turns out it's Ashworth pool cares problem. read more

Buying a house with a pool was super exciting, but I was getting anxiety thinking about all the maintenance that was about to come with it. I knew you had to do chemicals, clean filters and maybe even some voodoo to make sure all goes to plan and I just didn't have the time or patience to figure it all out. When we moved in, the pool was a little dirty so I wanted to get that fixed ASAP. I already know me, and know that I wasn't going to keep up the maintenance on my own and I didn't want lily pads growing after only owning the place for a month. After getting a few quotes, Ashworth definitely wasn't the cheapest, but I liked dealing with the owner and getting a run down of everything that needed to be done. Nick H's review popped up as loving their service, so I thought I'd throw them into the mix if he was happy with them. There were some surly peeps that came to quote us on the pool and Blair Ashworth was definitely the nicest out of all of them, so he won our business. Paying your bill is easy and you can do so online or by check. I've had a few questions about services and Blair was quick to respond to all my questions within a day via e-mail. Someone (if not Blair) comes every Friday around the same time, and I love that they leave notes on the door if I don't see them letting them know what they've done. Our pool has been sparkling ever since and I'd proudly recommend him to friends and family in the area looking to get their pools serviced. Again, you get what you pay for. read more

I am a new home owner and these guys were servicing the pool for the previous owner. I was notified by previous owner that they were contracted through the end of the month of April. First day we start to move in we find note on back door from service the week of the 10 - 14th and that they would be on vacation the next week so there will be no service. okay, seems reasonable. So the next week after the vacation week (24-28) I must place at least 4 calls to the office and always get the machine and get NO return calls. So now pool is going on the third week with no service. Finally, I get a hold of someone and he sets up a service and puts in the pool, what I was told, the previous owners cleaner. They had removed it while the house was empty for possible theft reasons. After this one time service he finally comes out to the house to give me an estimate for regular service. OH, by the way, I had to pay for the one time service because he said they were on vacation and the some FUZZY MATH about the last week comes out even for the year because of how some months have 5 weeks... yadah yadah yadah. So this all takes place over two weeks ago. Last week I called again to say I haven't made a decision on the contract service but would like to still schedule a service for that same week. AND OF COURSE... NO return call and the week comes to an end an now we are at Friday of the next week and still NO call which also means NO SERVICE. So today... a service tech shows up at my house and tells my Son he is there to take the pool cleaner out that is theirs... my Son ask the tech to get on the phone with me and he refuses and says I will give you a card to call the office. My Son tells him we have but no one will call us back. Tech basically says sorry but I'm taking the cleaner and leaves. Doesn't even try to get the owner or office on the phone to resolve anything. On a side note... when they did come do the one time service, they spent a whole 20 minutes max! As another review states, they utilize these cleaners to cut down on the service you get. I had my water tested just one week after that cleaning and I have had to do some work to get back to the right levels... JUST AFTER ONE WEEK! This is not how business should be conducted. Owner preached how big they are and they have all these techs but HE can't even return a phone call! Do yourself a favor and shop around for somebody who knows how to conduct business with the customer first. So here we are today with no service for over 2 weeks now and of course the tech that showed up at house today doesn't have time and I just called the office again and ... No Answer and No Call Back! 1 STAR is being nice! read more

I can say that right now I am happy with my pool service from Ashworth. They came out same day, gave us a quote, and started service at the same time. They leave notes on the door when they come. I hired this company over a year ago---on ONE condition---that they knew how to deal with the Pentair filter/pump/heating system. I asked for them to be transparent because I did not know the system and did not want issues. Both Blair and Barton ASSURED me that they did, so I hired them. They lied. After a short time, the indoor remote started acting wonky. Heater turned on when it wasn't supposed to---spa wouldn't activate---heater wouldn't turn off---it was a real frustration. I went to Leslie's because they sell the pump---they had a guy come out and he fixed it. Yet again, after a short time, the indoor remote became scrambled. I finally called the manufacturer and they came out. According to them---someone was reprogramming the outside controls. Huh? We didn't even know outside controls existed. Could it have been the Ashworth crews??? (which change constantly BTW.) Moreover, the Pentair rep noticed that there was a control box in the spa, submerged under water. Clearly that is NOT Ashworth's fault---they didn't build the pool or spa. BUT---it is something that a pool company with any real expertise should have recognized. I now have a great company---they do more than a two minute cleaning---they actually know everything about pool care, cleaning and maintenance. Best of all, they don't misrepresent themselves. I AM NOT LEAST BIT SURPRISED BY THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS. ps---Those with salt water pools----be especially careful. The first thing Ashworth did was to disable ours. read more

They do great service. Always on time, never late and always leave a note saying what was done or not done to my pool. Our last couple of pool cleaners left it in pretty bad shape. Barton suggested draining it and chlorine cleaning the sides. I didn't think anything was going to help at this point. However, to my surprise the next day the pool was clean again. Barton knows his stuff. We will be using him for a long time. If there were 10 stars I would give it to them. read more

WOW. These guys are the last stop in pool care. I have lived in my house for 7 years and have been through at least that many pool companies. Initially, they all promised great things, but in the end they all turned into the "5 minute pool guy." After firing the last company, I called Blair Ashworth. I had been receiving post cards from his company and was intrigued by their pool care offer. They diagnosed my ongoing pool issues which included algae, cloudy water, calcium building up on tile, and severe skin and eye irritation whenever anyone swam in the pool! The chemical levels were way off. They corrected everything and I've never had such sparkling clean water! They are honest and have a great maintenance plan which is built in to my monthly billing so I don't get hit with miscellaneous charges throughout the year for conditioners and filter cleans, etc. And they don't try and sell me what I don't need! John cleaned my filter today and did a wonderful job. I use to clean the filter myself but now my back hurts too much to do it again. John did a better job than I, the homeowner could do. I had Ashworth pool care a few years ago for my house. They ask for payment one month in advance and charge a late fee if you don't pay ahead by the 15th of the month. I know of no other pool service that does this (or any other service on my house that does this). They didn't maintain the balance of chemicals in my pool well. I had been recommended by them to drain the pool due to high levels of calcium buildup from my area and re-fill it (which cost 300), only to find that 1.5 years later, the calcium hardness and balance was off so much that I had to drain the pool again and refill it, when I got a new pool guy. I do not recommend this pool service at all. read more
