Our 16-year old heater wouldn't ignite. Marcus came over, ran every imaginable technical test, results positive every time, still no ignition. He recommended we call the gas company to assure all was okay and suggested we'd probably need a new meter because ours was small for our house and pool. SoCal Gas came, put in new meter, checked our heater and said "no reason it shouldn't start." Next day I asked Marcus to bring over an igniter and make sure that wasn't our problem even though it tested ok. He came over, installed a new igniter. No start, no charge for the visit. Decided to get a new heater and Marcus said he'd cone back later that afternoon and install the one we chose. He showed up around 5:00 and removed & replaced our heater, took away the old one, and was done by 7:00 pm when we settled into a late dinner. I cannot give this guy high enough praise for his punctuality, pool equipment savvy, thoroughness and excellent workmanship. Family home Pool heater has been broken or not working for few years and they were told by regular maintenance that a new heater is the only way to go. We are talking thousands of dollars. I knew the heater has been used very sparingly and shouldn't be a catastrophic repair that requires a new heater but greed can get in the way.
