We're very happy with the complete remodel of our pool done by Brian's Pool Plastering. The pool was built about 25 years ago and very little maintenance had been done by the previous owners, so we decided to do a complete remodel. I got 4 bids for the job, and the range was pretty wide. Brian's Pool Plastering wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't the most expensive either. I rarely take the cheapest bid anyway on projects - I want quality work and that costs money. Rusty came out and measured everything and answered my endless questions about options for pool equipment, plaster and StoneScapes. I asked a lot of questions about the order of things and how it would all come together. He was patient and answered everything. He also had the bid to be within a day and answered more questions by text quickly. One of the things that was important to me was that the work would proceed evenly - meaning there wouldn't be weeks-long gaps between people working on the pool. Brian made sure there was someone working every day and they showed up when they said they would. They moved quickly but thoroughly, and the tile guys even did a few things I hadn't thought of that made the pool look great. I was told by 8-10 different pool service companies that the plastering was inferior that they wouldn't service pool and a re-plaster was recommended. We're to start... We chose to work with Brian's after reading their positive reviews... Wish we had read the not so good ones first, as they are all spot on. We hired them to do a pool remodel, split the drain, replaster and tile. Splitting the drain required plans to be approved by the city. When we were sent a copy, we did not like or approve the location of the additional drain. When expressing our concern, we were met with such unprofessional conduct by Brian himself. He said it didn't matter how it was drawn on the plans. And we would have to trust him that it would be done to our liking. We don't know him personally and did not feel comfortable trusting him with this 16k job. And after berating me and yelling at me he told me he was "done with the conversation". Like wow, how professional... After speaking to the architect and the head of the city permit department, they both agreed that the placement of the drain was unusual and it would not pass inspection if it was installed differently than drawn on the plans. We decided to cancel the contract and they wanted to deduct fees for the plans that were drawn improperly. lol Crazy right? I believe Brian is in the process of selling the company as he is now the mre, meaning someone else is running the day to day operations and they sub out the plans, obtaining the permits, and possibly the actual work, which is not ideal when you think you're working with a company that does everything in house. As far as all the positive reviews, anyone can make 100 new email accounts in a week and make 100 positive reviews for their business, as they are not confirmed, and claim to do so many pools a year. something to keep in mind. It's been a nightmare trying to find someone honest and easy to work with. Will post pics of plans with new drain at one o clock heading up to wall from the center drain in deep end. we were expecting drain to be split and new ones at 3 and 6 o'clock or a trough drain. Not sure how this guy is in business doing amateur stuff like this and talking to people the way he does. Just look at his responses on every single negative review he has received. Brian's Pool Plastering company is a great group of guys who strive to keep their customers happy. I initially met Brian and his team from prior reviews as I was very particular about my huge pool remodel. This consisted of redoing my pool with a reinforced wall, a fire pit, new cement, pavers + decking, two BBQ islands, planters, and the customization of the cutouts for all the outdoor appliances. This was stressful and a major over hall. Brian's Pool Plastering (BPP) and his team were patient and extremely professional. From the beginning design and concept of creating a balanced backyard with everything I needed - all the way through some changes I personally made along the way. Additionally, they remained consistent in being available to me throughout the process. When DEMO day came, BPP were quick, careful with the rest of the home and cleaned up nicely. The project took 10 months because I had a lot done (see above again.) Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are clearly represented in the finished project. BEWARE!!!! I am a Board Member for our 48 home HOA complex. We hired Brian's Pool Plastering in February 2024 to replace our pool coping on our community pool. The initial bid was $27,215.00. After numerous change orders, the total came out to $64,915.00. The project manager, Anthony, was the most incompetent person I've ever worked with and I have construction jobsite experience. Due to the lack of management, it was not completed until 5 months later. In the process, his team cut the electrical power to our NEW inside pool light, removed the light and threw the evidence away and replaced it with a cheap $300 NON WORKING light. This also affected the lights not working in our restrooms. To fix the problem, they hit us with yet another C/O for an additional $4,550! We ended up hiring an outside electrical contractor. In addition, he sold us a chlorinator unit that never functioned properly. Come to find out, we were charged for a complete unit yet only 1/2 of the unit was installed and we paid an additional $1,200 start it up fee. He then said "he would have never installed the unit and we were better off with a "Chlorine tablet dispenser" which he replaced it with but didn't refund the full amount of the Chlorinator unit. A tablet dispenser cost pennies compared to a full unit. It was his project manager, Anthony, that told us we would not pass inspection without it. Funny how Anthony no longer worked for the company towards the end our job. There's so much more to this story, but the bottom line is they will bid low and then hit you with tons of change orders once they have your pool torn up. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! read more
