We needed to get our pool replastered so we reached out to a few pool companies and Pool Effects were the most thorough in explaining the process and their recommendations on what needed to be done. They gave us lots of options to replace our coping and upgrade to pebble tec/tile but we were on a tight budget and they understood this. If you're looking for a pool contractor who actually knows their stuff and won't flake on you, Eddie at Pool Effects is your guy. We had him out to our new place to do a complete equipment upgrade, and the entire experience was very educational me and Eddie was very courtesy with our timing and needs from start to finish. The scope of work was pretty heavy: full leak detection, draining/acid washing the pool, and completely replacing the old plumbing with a brand new Pentair pump, heater, and filter system. If you're considering renovating your pool but don't have an entire life savings to spend, definitely go with Pool Effects. From the very beginning Eddie and his team were awesome to work with. They came out super quick to assess what we needed, and gave us a really detailed quote. I had a long conversation with Eddie on the phone about every possible scenario with our pool (we had a massive crack that was leaking water), and how much each scenario would end up costing us. He was transparent on the whole process and pricing. After receiving 6 other quotes from various companies, I went with Pool Effects for three reasons: 1) COST - they were significantly less expensive than other companies. 2) PROFESSIONALISM - I never had to chase Eddie down to get the info I needed. He always followed up with me. And if he said he was going to do something, he did it. 3) KNOWLEDGE - as I spoke to several different companies, I could tell which ones were just talking nonsense versus which companies offered detailed information and clearly knew their craft in the field. After we decided to hire Eddie and Pool Effects, I got confirmation that we made the right decision in a few different ways. First of all, after we began the project, his team found that the damage was MUCH worse than we thought (which is one of the scenarios he warned me about). The price could have skyrocketed from there, but Eddie worked with me and cut his cost down in every possible way that he could in order to keep our business (our alternative was just filling the pool in). Our pool had an super old and poorly maintained fiberglass finish which looked awful and was also getting to be dangerous.
