We hired Central OC Pools to replaster our pool, update the equipment and plumbing, and convert part of it into a spa, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. I'll be honest, we were initially hesitant because their quote came in significantly lower than several others we received. That said, after meeting Michael and talking through the scope in detail, we felt comfortable moving forward, and we're very glad we did. This was not a small project. It included adding a wall to create the spa out of the old shallow end, installing all of the plumbing for the new spa, relocating the pool steps to a different area, full pool demo, replastering with a PebbleTec surface, a new heater, new pump/filter, and repairing numerous cracks in the pool foundation. On top of that, they had to coordinate a gas line installation that required tearing up roughly 300 feet of cement, grass, and brick. Michael and his team were timely, professional, and extremely communicative throughout the process. When we ran into an unforeseen issue with a bad gas line that impacted our budget, they were reasonable and worked with us rather than adding pressure or surprise costs. What really impressed us was the final result - not just the pool and spa, which look fantastic, but the property restoration. Despite all the trenching and demolition, everything was put back so well that it honestly looks like they were never here. I had the slab leak for many years. I got quotes from different pool companies for replastering, but I didn't really like the look of plaster. Central OC wasn't the cheapest, but they are very knowledgeable, polite and seems trustworthy. They recommended pebble and had samples and that's the look I like better. We had a great experience working with Michael and his team. We have a 25+ year old pool at a rental property that had cracks and the steps were starting to crumble. After getting a number of quotes, we decided to go with OC Central Pools. Michael scheduled a time to meet and was very professional, friendly and helpful with great options for redoing the pool. It was very productive meeting and Micheal stated exactly what the pool would need given the age and poor condition. This pool needed a lot of work! The project started and workers were very professional, nice to the tenants and always respectful of the property by leaving as tidy as possible. They were not only extremely hard working, but very detail oriented, too. When an additional repair that came up after the plaster was removed, Michael got in touch, explained the situation and gave me a good price to fix it. That repair turned out fantastic as well. From the start to the finish of the project, the communication with Michael and his team was excellent. Michael and his team not only kept us updated with text and photos of progress of the job, but were great with working with the tenants on scheduling days the work would be performed. The tenants a few times said what a great company we had picked. When the pool was completed, we were absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. We were going to just do plaster, but Michael's recommendation to upgrade to colored mini-pebble turned out really beautiful. Central OC pools was recommended by our long time pool service tech. Once I met with Michael I had 100% confidence that the work would be done right, and that his team would be professional. I was flexible in my start date so that helped plan a start time in February. We walked through the pool remodel, addressed some other issues like Mexican tile cleaning, and talked about plans to make the pool more accessible to our family, especially older members and visitors. The work to demolish started exactly on time, with a full experienced crew. The plastering crew then started and immediately I saw that the plan for addressing entry/exit into the pool was not sufficient. The crew helped me design, on the spot, the best solution, which was to build a stairway out of the pool, and change the height of the step out of the spa. Along with super solid rails, the entry and exit from our new pool has been perfect. I was very happy with the plaster we chose, and the new lighting looks great. Finally, I was a bit nervous about the automated Pentair system and whether I'd be able to figure it out, but the crew knew the system well, and as a bonus, my pool tech is very familiar with the Pentair system. I did have one issue, the footings where the old pool stair rail was removed, but a call to Michael resulted in a visit by the crew to re-brick that footing and it was perfectly addressed. This is a long overdue review of our experience with Central OC Pools. Michael and his awesome team completed our exhausting pool renovation nearly a year ago in March 2022. We hired them initially because we had a ton of water leaking from our pool and we couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from. We had already done some minor renovations the year before but we knew we were still losing water and couldn't figure out what the problem was. At the time, we had only been in the house for 3 years but the pool was a constant headache from day one. We were constantly finding leaks here and there that we were able to temporarily patch up, but this severe leak that we had was expertly hidden around a light niche. Water had been pouring into the dirt around our pool for years. It's a wonder that the pool didn't pop up out of the ground. Thanks to Michael and his team, they identified all the issues we were facing once the demo on our pebble tech was done. They were able to patch everything up, seal the areas that leaked, install new pebble tech, get us new pool equipment, and set everything up for us. We were not super easy to work with because we were convinced that our pool was a money pit that could never be fixed. I was so skeptical that we would continue to lose water even after all the construction had been completed and the crew was done. I'm happy to say that nearly a year later, our pool hasn't leaked, our equipment is working great, and I'm extremely happy with the service that Central OC Pools provided. My pool was installed back in 1987 and was a maintenance nightmare. Our pool guy could never really get the algae off the old plaster and quit. I tried to do it myself but it just needed a lot of chemicals, brushing and vigilance all the time or we got the green water tint really fast. Previous owners let the pool maintenance go undone for so long that the algae really got embedded in the old plaster which was starting to spall off. So, we called Michael at Central OC Pools and he knew just what to do. We chose a Stonescapes Mini-Pebble finish with just the right surface color to give the pool a deep blue appearance. We love it!
