I have never purchased a hot tub before and had no idea how the process worked. Cameron came out to the house to advise me on the whole process, where the best spot for the hot tub to go, how the electrical works, and DIDN'T TRY TO UPSELL ME. It's really important to me that I gave Cameron my budget and lifestyle and he helped me select exactly the hot tub I needed and didn't try to get me to buy one outside my budget. He also stayed in contact with me through the whole process, was my direct point of contact from beginning to end, and I had a perfectly working hot tub installed in less than 2 weeks! I was given full instructions on how to take care of my hot tub in an easy and clear way. My spa has been a lifesaver, and Cameron/Southwest couldn't have been any more helpful in the whole process. I feel like a hot tub expert now. I'm a customer for life!

The day of my appt I realized the power had blown to my backyard and the service tech would not be able to test the tub without it! I called to cancel and they were very gracious saying they would reschedule the following Monday so I could have time to get things fixed. Apparently they did not update the tech because he showed up on time a few hours later. When I explained to him that I had to cancel and why he said he would still come in back to take a look at make and model etc- no extra charge! When he came back on Monday (same guy) I felt he was very honest and upfront about what needed to be done and whether I should do refurbished equipment or new (they offer this!). If you need a repair please call these guys. They are definitely honesty and looking to give the best service as possible.

Tech said the pump didn't need to be replaced and that was good because those were like $150 - it was two gate valves that had failed, so this would be "a lot less". Would definitely not recommend them to anyone - too many other places and people who will deal fairly.

I did have some doubts about going through build your own pool versus a local pool builder, however after some of my ridiculous quotes from local pool builders (like 30-40k higher than we built it for) and talking to several homeowners that also used build your own pool I decided to go for it. Now I have subbed out for homes we have remodeled and a few flips so I might have been more comfortable through the process than others might, but I think if you need more help they'd be there for you. I worked a lot with Ryan for the plans at the beginning and then with John Green who we also ordered the equipment through. John was extremely helpful and did not get annoyed with my calls or emails on my many questions. From breaking ground to completion it took about 5 months. The pool builders which we talked to were about 10-12 months out and basically said we wouldn't have the pool until December or January when we were getting bids. We finished just in time for the summer and have already used it a lot. I highly recommend BYOP and am extremely satisfied with my pool!

Please remember that you are the GC. Ive seen reviews like the one before where they pool light was too short. This is stuff you are responsible for noticing, as a GC you should know how long your light run is and how long of a light cord you need. I worked with John and he was great, we even had issues with a drain and he had a rep come out immediately and resolve the issue. I worked with Roy during the design stage and I made several changes over and over to the design and it never took Roy more than 24 hours to make changes or respond to questions. Remember this is your project and you are responsible for running the show, reviewing drawings, equipment lists, etc.
