ZERO STARS- Terribly disappointed in lack of customer service. Daughter went in store to pick up 2 floats. Online "Leslie's"price $119.99. In store Dan said no, $149.99. Husband was on the phone with our daughter. Dan said, no that must be the smaller size. We gave the Product Number "78369". Yes that was the float in-store. Dan would not match told us we needed to order online. I ordered online for pick up at store #429. They told us they couldn't see the order. We called back and Shane also said they couldn't see our order. To cancel our order and then she could buy them. I called the Ellsworth location #575 and spoke to Ronnie, who was an incredible help. He had the floats and when asked what the price was, he promptly quoted $119.99, just like the website. We cancelled our order, and will be calling the District Manager, Mark Mansfield on Monday. Easily could have been avoided if in-store staff could have taken the time and care to check the price. Highly recommend driving to Ellsworth and Brown, rather than dealing with rude and incompetent team members. read more

I've been going to Ralph at your place for a few years now. If he's not working I ask when he will be and I come back. He doesn't follow the party line. He explains everything from a scientific point of view and doesn't try to sell me products I don't need. He cured my algae problem and now I understand why it happens and how to control it. Came into the store today to purchase a new vacuum. Great customer service from one of the guys but couldn't give more assistance as he was disabled so he told Ralph I was waiting for him to get the vacuum off of the ladder for me. Waited until he was done with his customer which was around 5 mins no problem I'm pretty patient. He comes back inside from helping a customer doesn't acknowledge me at all I sit for another 5-10 mins. Service tech comes in goes in the back and I wait patiently for another 10 minutes to hear them laughing and just living it up in the back when I was about to spend over $600 on a new vacuum but he wouldn't take the time to help me out for a minute. Went to the Ellsworth location and the woman there was more than helpful and I got what I needed. Won't be back. read more

I took my Hayward cleaner to Leslie Pool Supply at Power and McDowell in Mesa with a hose tangling issue. The manager took the cleaner apart, and without asking me, replaced a small plastic gear and small rubber housing part and put the cleaner together. He then walked over to the register and said the parts come to $75. I was never once asked if I wanted these parts replaced as I wanted to know what was needed to get it fixed. My cleaner is over 9 years old, so it did not make sense to put that much money into it so I asked how much a new cleaner was. Cost would be $429 less $100 Hayward rebate. I wanted to purchase the new cleaner then; however, they were out of stock and I was told new ones are already on order. The manager removed the new parts from my old cleaner and put the old parts back in, but the cleaner gears were now locked rendering the cleaner useless. The cleaner wasn't working 100% when I bought it in as it tangled often, but it still worked. I let the manager know about this and his exact words to me were, "It is what it is." I took the cleaner to another pool supply company and they could fix the issue for $41, a savings of about 50% from Leslie's. I was so impressed by this other company that I purchased a new cleaner right there on the spot. If you take your cleaner to Leslie's for repair make SURE you ask exactly what the cost will be BEFORE you allow them to replace any parts. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service at this location on Power and McDowell. Especially coming from the General Manager at this store, Thomas. As a first time pool owner, I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of water and how it needs to be treated. Thomas was zero help to me and his attitude at which he had with me was below poor. This type of customer service should never be provide but certainly unexpected from a GM of a store. read more

I moved here last year and was a complete pool newbie. The Leslie team, especially Ralph, taught me so much about maintaining my pool. They have been invaluable. Some people have commented negatively here about Ralph. I could not disagree more strongly. His tone and personality is a bit direct (tell it like it is, no fluff), but I've consistently experienced him as someone who cares about customers, doesn't feed BS to upsell customers, and has always taken the time to explain whatever pool/spa situation I'm experiencing. It's kind of like having a local pool mentor to consult. read more

Ralph is rude and his belittling antics only shows he is truly hurting in his inner third grader. We dont know everything & come to the store for advice. When making jokes about customers with the Manager on the customers behalf at least do it like most adults, behind their back. Ill be contacting the district manager. Ive had enough of the childish antics. I prefer to drive out of my way to get better service. read more

Ralph has been extremely helpful in helping me take care of my pool. He always has a good attitude and he is very knowledgeable. I get my water tested often and he makes recommendations on what to use to keep my pool water healthy. He also taught me how to clean my salt cell to make it last longer. And I can that he is always honest. read more

I came in to have my vacuum checked and Ralph took care of it immediately. He also checked my water was having a little algae problem, Ralph told me what to use and how to add it to my pool. I have been coming in for over a year now and my pool looks awesome. If you LISTEN to what Ralph SAYS and DO IT, everything works. I've been to other leslie's stores and it seems like all they want to do is sell you stuff just to make the sale. If your looking for an honest person and LISTEN to what he says you will do great. Had a poor experience today. I went in for a pool pump part that they installed less then a year ago and was making loud noises. They would not work with me at all nor offer any solution. I went down the street 2 miles to Leslie's on university and got amazing service a better part at a superior price. I love to support local business and will no longer ever go back to this store. read more

I can't believe what a loudmouth asshat the 50 ish worker was to me, whilst helping another customer he sees I have a pool basket in my hand, breaks away from his current customer and yells that the baskets are on the other side of the store, dumbfounded I walk to that side and he keeps yelling they are right there!! I yell back why don't you come over here and show me, as I look at him he says I'm pointing right at them! I found it, but was pissed and embarrassed by what he did. Ralph and his friend need to take a class on customer service. Complete frustration trying to get a salt cell warrantied. No hello. No good morning. Simply told me what they wanted done. Told me they couldn't exchange my cell. Instead of listening, they simply spoke over me. After three attempts of trying to explain what I was trying to achieve and getting cutoff (because they felt they knew better), I called Hayward. Hayward explained that A&M Corson on Val Vista and Southern was a better option. They were right. I went to A&M Corson. They were extremely friendly, professional and did exactly what this Leslie's said was not possible. Salt cell is now hooked up and working at no charge. I won't be going back to this Leslie's, but A&M Corson won a customer.! read more

He employees do not know much about pools and spas, providing incorrect information and misleading advice. Water measurements are not fully completed and not recorded. I've been to some Leslie's stores in the past with excellent help. Not this store. read more

Ok, So once in 12 years living here and going to this Leslie's,I go in and someone was very educated on pool supplies but he didn't last. From time to time I bring my water sample in to have it tested and buy what they recommend. Today I was waiting behind a couple buying supplies for about 10 minutes when a guy walked in and went up to the other side of the counter and a guy comes out and tests his water immediately. I was going to say something but was in a good mood and the other people were ringing up anyway and no one else was in the store. My turn comes and I ask if he could please test my sample. He looks very perturbed and put-out and says exactly this: " I'M VERY BUSY RIGHT NOW BUT I GUESS SO, GIMMIE THE BOTTLE" At that point I said I'd been waiting a while and someone went ahead of me. I added an expletive and left immediately. I hate people who make their living from the public and have these kinds of attitudes. Not a good face for the company. That's my last time in any Leslie's. The manager of this store is always grumpy and rude. I now drive a few extra miles to avoid them.

This location has had a turnover in employees and that is unfortunate. There were two older gentlemen, one of whom was hit-or-miss in the helpfulness department. The other was a really nice guy, but he is gone. Recently I dealt with two much younger employees and neither was anywhere close to being helpful. The first clearly did not know what he was doing (testing water from my pool), and Mr. hit-or-miss did not give him much help at all. Neither did his younger coworker. The second younger employee needs a class in social skills and in DOING HIS JOB. Today I wanted the water tested and he sloppily went through the motions and gave me some glib verbal report on the water. When I asked him if he was going to complete the Water Analysis Form he actually asked me if I wanted one. He then pulled 5 numbers out of the air and completed the form. So, after two trips to Leslie's, and two attempts to have the water tested, I still have no accurate analysis of the pool water. What service! read more

Every time I go in I go straight to Ralph. He really knows his stuff. He is always helpful and into educating me.
