Everyone there is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely focused on helping customers rather than just making a sale. Their service technicians are always professional and courteous. They call ahead before arriving, which gives us time to secure our dog--a small detail that we really appreciate. Over the years, we've relied on Shawn's for everything from routine pool chemicals and accessories to major maintenance, including pool drains/startup, cleaner rebuilds, filter cleans, acid wash, and even a salt cell installation. Every job has been done well and at a fair price. Whenever I've needed repairs or considered buying a new pool cleaner, Shawn has always taken the time to explain the different options, along with the pros and cons of each, so I could make an informed decision instead of feeling pressured into the most expensive choice. When we had a pool leak several years back, Shawn even put me in touch with another company that found the leak right away and began repairs immediately. It's hard to find a business that consistently provides this level of honesty, expertise, and customer service over so many years. I highly recommend Shawn's Pool Store to anyone looking for a trustworthy pool supply and service company.

I went in person to get an…read moreestimate after I had already done a "pool school session" and a tech call previously and had schedule to have my pool clean. I wanted to make sure how much it was going to actually cost me, so I made sure that they knew WHAT I HAD IN SUPPLIES including the fact that I had three bags of salt and I wanted them to be used so that I would NOT HAVE to pay their price for the salt needed for my pool. I knew I would need two additional bags but that was it. Well it DID NOT GET USED even though it was NOTED on my file. Then I also knew I needed to replace the filters and would do so at the same time as when getting my pool drained and refilled. The tech was already here, it's not like he had to do an extra trip or anything. I had called and spoken to Shawn over the phone because I received a text letting me know the filters were on sale with a 15% discount and I wanted to make sure the discount was applied to my invoice. He said that yes it was going to be applied on the final bill. Except Shawn failed to mention the FACT THAT THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME $140 additional for putting the filters in. But the worst part was when I went in person to find out why my bill was so high. Of course being the honest person that I am I HAD ALREADY PAID THE INVOICE. Because both the young guy with the beard can't remember his name and a lady with short curly hair ( also don't know her name) were very rude. Even though I was not talking to her in regards to my situation she decided to butt in and tell me that "was I thinking I was going to get things for free?" And the guy all he could say was " well I don't know what was said and what wasn't" pretty much my word against theirs. THAT'S FINE I WILL HAVE THE FINAL WORD, YOU ARE A RIP OFF. YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK. BEING TRANSPARENT, UPFRONT AND HONEST GOES A LONG WAY. ***BE AWARE AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU ASK DETAIL QUESTIONS IF YOU DO DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS HERE ***

They do everything for me, including acid wash and filter cleaning. They send me emails every week showing what service was completed and who did it. They also email maintenance reminders. Their online billing process is very convenient. When chlorine supply was bad, and they were going to charge extra, they told me I could purchase my own for them to use as needed. Now I always have a bucket of tabs for them to pull from. Once I told them to look in the pool box for chemicals and extra parts, they started doing that every week. They also make sure to check the gate latch when they leave so my Husky doesn't escape. Over the years they've seen us go from 3 dogs to 2 and finally to 1. They aren't afraid to enter the yard, knowing they could be "supervised" at any given time.

Called Juan Friday, he came out Monday, sent someone to turn off the system and clean filters Tuesday, sent someone to drain Wednesday, sent someone to de-calcify and pressure wash Thursday, filled overnight, and came back himself this morning to put in startup chemicals and get us back in the pool by the weekend. He set a schedule and kept to it, which I really appreciate. His prices are competitive and he's very responsive. 5 stars.

I hired Juan to clean our tile, drain the pool and power wash the pebble tee to remove the calcium…read moreresidue after cleaning it off. The calcium levels in the pool were very high and it was time to get calcium buildup off. I called and he came by with his employee to give a quote quickly. They were friendly and professional on this day. On the day of the cleaning they arrived 1 hour late and the 2 workers began to clean the tiles. They took about 45-60min to blast my 40x20 pool- it was very fast. (previous time it took them 2 hours) They wet the tile down when they finished and sprayed down the sides with power washer. They were in/out of my property gate in about 90 minutes. I noticed when they power washed that the tiles were not sprayed just the pebbletec. They put the hose in the pool and left. The next day I noticed there was still a white haze on the tiles (which can't be seen when wet). I called Juan and asked him to fix this and he said they would. It was over the weekend so they came back Monday to make it right- which I greatly appreciated. Juan supervised the work this time and the tiles looked better after the second round but there was so much of the dust/debris in bottom of my pool now and I had paid $300 for them to drain it and have clean water and filters and now both the pool and the filter/pump was filled with junk. They had me run the vacuum and then they came back a few days later to clean out my filter pump, which left a huge mess all behind it when the debris drained from my pump. Ever since this happened, we have been having a lot of problems with the pump sucking in more air and shutting off unexpectedly. The skimmer baskets will suck the water down below water level and make loud noises- this never happened prior to them draining my pool. They fixed the air being sucked in when they came back the second time by trying to bleed air out of the lines but it just happens again after running the pump for several hours. Juan told me the pump had a bad seal but it was just replaced in November and we never had issues with it until they serviced the pool. I think what bothered me most was that we went to use the hot tub about 10 days after they serviced the pool and the hot tub light wouldn't work. So I called Juan to see if he could come back to troubleshoot the light not working and he got very angry on the phone with me telling me he "didn't like my attitude" and he was extremely defensive and started yelling at me. He refused to come back out and take a look at the problem, saying it was working when he left so the light must have just burnt out. We had paid them to change one of the main pool lights when the pool was drained and when the pool was re-started the hot tub light was constantly flashing through the light cycles and wouldn't settle on a single color. After I synced the pool lights, the hot tub light then would not work /come on at all. I called Juan to ask him to come and see what the light problem was- I figured maybe the wiring is loose or perhaps I am not syncing it properly? But early in the phone call, Juan got very defensive and verbally berated me and then raised his voice and started yelling at me. At some point he said we "should part ways" and that "he didn't want to do business with me" and then promptly hung up on me. THE WORST SERVICE and treatment I've ever received. The irritating part is that he wouldn't even let me explain the problem but was very defensive about everything. I can NOT recommend this company. Look elsewhere. I don't know if it's because I am a woman or if he just got angry that I was wanting another thing on the job made right, but either way- I won't be able to hire them ever again after being treated so rudely and with such disrespect. These problems only came after they did the work.......
