I was reluctant to hire a pool company until I returned from an extended vacation to find I had a swamp where my pool used to be. Looking at the mess I felt like the fix was over my head. I sent out a few quote requests, and Kyle got back to me quickly with a competitive rate. I hired his company, and Scott came out to get my pool looking pretty again. Green turned to blue in no time, and we were back in good shape for Summer fun. After the swamp, and following black mold were remedied I hired Radiance Pools to handle my weekly maintenance. Jeremy became our weekly pool pro, and he was great. Fortunately, he was also very patient on all the days I forgot to unlock my gate. We were happy clients for about half a year, until I sold the house. During the summer their services cost about the same as I was paying for chemicals to maintain the pool on my own. This company is beyond a joke. We hired them about a month ago when our old pool guy moved out of town, and chose him because he had solid reviews. Not sure how. Scott and the team never respond to emails or texts, and if you try to leave a voicemail with Scott (the GM), his voicemail hasn't been set up. Our pool has been unusable for a month now. They give you these little reports after they come, and I'm convinced that they simply show up to take the picture and leave. They're stealing from their customers at this point. Everything started out great with Radiance. Jason spent time cleaning the pool and balancing the chemicals. My pool had never been cleaner. Everything started off good with this company. Although our pool was never really clean clean after service...we stuck with them while it took over 2 months to try and diagnose the problem. Had us replace this and that...still had a dirty pool. It takes anywhere from 3-7 days for them to get back to you about something. I waited too long to decide about what to do with my broken pool pump. It quit working in late January, and I dithered for a while before reaching out to Yelp. I actually asked for a quote from a competitor of Radiance, but Yelp sent out RFQs to 4 other companies, and I ended up choosing Radiance. Of the other 4 companies, I got responses from 3. One didn't have a contractor's license, I was ghosted by one, and one wouldn't sell me what I wanted (Sand in a Sand filter -- they insisted on pool-grade crushed glass instead). It took ME a week and a half to decide exactly what I wanted and picking Radiance. They came on the day scheduled and gave me exactly what I wanted -- replacing both the 30-year-old Pump and Filter...and all the above ground piping. Today is day 4 with the new pump and filter, and everything is working perfectly. In that week and a half, my pool finally turned -- I'd managed to keep it from turning green before I contacted Yelp. Now with having run the new equipment for 4 days, my pool looks perfect. Radiance did great for us. Now, trying to figure out how to get ME to act faster. read more

Brought us a new variable speed pump, installed it and programmed it immediately. Can't remember how long we have used them but it has been years. I originally hired Radiance Pools 2 years ago to replace my pool motor with a rebuilt single speed motor. I was satisfied with the job they did and their responsiveness. The motor had a 1 year warranty and it lasted about 18 months. I hired them again this last May to replace that motor, and this time I went with a variable speed motor. Again, they were very responsive, and I was satisfied with the job they did. I gave them a 5 star Yelp review. The reason for my 1 star review... for the last 3 weeks, I can't get my pool to clear. The motor appears to be working fine but my pool is cloudy. As I mentioned above, I have been satisfied with their work, so I reached out to Radiance Pools to request a service call (that I intended to pay for). I got no response. Since then, over the last 3 weeks, I've reached out to them 3 times by phone (no one answered, I left messages) and 3 times by e-mail and I've gotten no response. Each time they have done work for me, I have thanked them and paid my invoice immediately. I've never been ghosted by a company before. I'm not sure why they won't return my messages, but I seriously doubt I'd hire them again. read more

As experienced by another reviewer, things with Radiance started out okay. then the regular tech had an issue and eventually he was no longer our tech. Calls were slow to be returned after several messages, instructions weren't followed, requests went unanswered. Reliability and communication is every bit as important as the service itself. I am so frustrated with the lack of response, that I had no choice but to terminate this relationship and find another service....which I did today! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Really horrible experience. Rarely showed when they said they would, had to reach out numerous times just to get them to come, never sent a single bill, until after they were fired (to which they never responded) they just sent me to collections. At which point I found out that in addition to the agreed monthly fee they charged for chemicals without disclosing that it would be in addition to the bill, also charged me a new chlorine float without asking. They never answered calls or returned any. I disputed the charge but they sent what I can only guess were fake dates for service so I unfortunately had to pay as I don't really know what else to do. I'm not one to leave many reviews but our experience with radiant pools was very unpleasant. Once the weather warmed up our pool turned green multiple times. After further inspection our filter canister had been cracked for who knows how long. The filters were so caked on with algae, even though they said they had cleaned them. Our pool filter could not have been in working order with such a large crack in it and they never said a word. We had multiple pool techs show up at random times and not on schedule. We also had expensive equipment go missing and just all around unreliable & hard to communicate with. They are still sending us new invoices via email although we canceled their services. read more

What I really appreciated besides the prompt replies, was the fact that Kyle was able to quote my job from the photos I supplied. That was really helpful. After the replacement the water flow dropped significantly and the turbos still did not rotate properly. I have serviced my own pools by myself for a number of years, but needed to find a pool company to maintain my pool due to a shoulder injury that prevented me from brushing the sides of my pool. A neighbor recommended Radiance Pools to me and I have been using them since early 2022. Until today, I've had only a couple minor issues with them since starting service - there had been a couple occasions where my pool was not serviced due to broken down vehicles, a technician out sick, etc. No big deal - that kind of thing happens. I was paying $105/month for weekly service on my "standard" pool with no hot tub, water features or anything like that. I got a small discount (maybe $5 off) because a neighbor uses Radiance too. After each weekly service, a pool service report is sent out via email (I actually really like this). This report includes any updates, news, etc. that the company has to share, a summary of chemical readings, a summary of the chemicals added, a summary of services that were performed and a picture of the my pool once all services had been performed. I just fired Radiance Pools today for being dishonest. I do not feel comfortable allowing someone/a company on my property who is dishonest. CONCERN #1: Todays report showed that 3 "company" chlorine tabs were added to my pool. These "company" tabs are provided at an additional charge if you do not supply your own chlorine tabs. I have my bucket of tabs next to my pool equipment for the technician to use. I am not sure why "company" tabs were used instead of mine. Maybe this was so that they could charge more? After going into my backyard shortly after the service was performed, I noticed that my chlorine float was sitting rather high in the water (usually an indication that it is empty)... this is because it WAS EMPTY. No chlorine tabs were added at all. CONCERN #2: After realizing that no tabs were added, I went to check the skimmer basket to see if maybe the tabs were added there (not where they should go, but have heard of people doing this). Not only were the tabs not in there, but the basket had not been emptied. CONCERN #3: I also checked the basket at the pump and that had not been emptied. I've reached out to Radiance Pools to let them know my concerns, they blamed this on a "new technician" (Joshua C). I was told that the owners would call me back and did not receive a call, which makes me wonder how long this type of "service" has been happening. read more

Radiance Pools has great customer communication and when they did show up, my pool looked pretty good. They nickel and dime for every service, however. Backwashing, cleaning filters, and now pool chemicals are all extra! Then they switched payment companies without notice and we pay an additional fee just to pay the invoice. I asked multiple times for them to let me know when they would be servicing my pool each week because we have a dog and I needed to make sure she was inside. They would show up on random days at all hours of the day, even though I was supposed to be serviced on Wednesdays. They were inconsistent and way pricier than other places. They also take a lot of vacations and your monthly bills still count those weeks with no service. Would recommend finding a cheaper, more reliable pool service. read more

A Pentair VSF variable speed and a Pentair Whisperflo was installed. All new plumbing and electrical connections were included. All plumbing was painted to match. Boy are they quiet. He set up the programmer. Showed me how to troubleshoot the basics and off he was. He even submitted all my registrations and rebates online with Pentair and sent me email confirmations.
