Been going to this location since 1995 and was just told that they've never carried pool tablets (the large size) to a customers car. Give me a break! In fact I've never once carried the pool tablets to my car. I purposely went there because of the service - as I am unable to carry the large heavy bucket myself. 30 years and a new employee ruins the customer relationship. Went by the store yesterday to get some pool tile grout , as I entered the store I said hello to the guy behind the register he replied with a very non happy greeting. I asked him where the grout was located and he replied WE DON'T HAVE ANY, I asked him when will you be getting some in , he replied I DON'T KNOW. If there was a 0 star for these guys at 222S Diamond Bar Blvd, I would give them a "0". The manager is confrontational and argues instead of providing advice or assistance. By the way, he does not honor veteran discounts if you but some chemical that may say 10 % sale. He will also not ask if you need any help with administering chemicals. It just feels like these guys want to be left alone and not bothered by customers. Find another pool service facility guys. Horrible sales people and horrible customer service. Stay away! Definitely the worst Leslie's location that I have been too. Special ordered a part, and went to pick it up. The part was given to me without hesitation in a previously opened, stapled shut bag. I looked further, the part was scavenged for the o-rings. Mind you, this was handed to me by the manager with a straight face. I looked at him, explained I patiently waited a week for the part. Look on his face said it all. I will gladly drive out of my way to go to Malins in Chino! By the way, to the manager...you telling the person to pour 1 gallon of acid into their 20k gallon pool and further telling them that it will be safe to swim in after about an hour...YOU HAVE KNOWN IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Zero star would have been appropriate! I am done supporting small local business! Especially this Leslie store. The service is awful, the knowledge pitiful. I gave the store one more chance to earn my business today. I have a broken directional flow fitting. I walked in and was directed to an aisle of the store where the fitting would be. They had only 3 kinds and none exactly like mine. But one looked like it would have worked and needed to open the package to make sure it was the same size as my broken one. I politely asked if I could open the plastic bag, and was denied.. I was told I need to buy it first.. I was ready to pay twice the amazon price...I told the idiot mending the store and walked away. I have seen several managers and staff come and go, but I've got to admit that the staff that is there now is pretty good. However, Bethany L is the best! She always greets and takes her time with each she serves with a positive attitude and smile. It's quite simple, buy the necessary supplies to keep your pool blue and you will not have any problems. From Robert to Bethany they are truly a pros pro when it comes to taking care of your pool. I tried to purchase a swimming cap this week and tag on the product said $2.99. I thought, cool! Not too expensive for end of summer and limited time to swim. Rang it up and they said it's $5.45. I mentioned that the price on the item says $2.99. He goes to check with someone, comes back, and tells me that's the suggested retail price. They didn't give it to me for $2.99 even though that's the price the item is labeled with. UNPROFESSIONAL!!! It's their fault for not tagging their products effectively and well. I just started taking care of the pool when last summer completely walked me though what I chemicals I need and should buy because apparently I didn't have any which is why the water was green. They only sold me what I needed and always steered me away from buying stuff that I really didn't need but I could buy if I wanted. My pool has been looking great for months now. I wouldn't have been able to do it without Matt and Joe. They have patience when I come in and ask tons of questions about new products or just want to come in and chat about my pool. If you are a first timer taking care of your pool I'd definitely advise you to take your pool water to this Leslie's and to pick the brains of these 2 extremely knowledgeable guys. read more

Went there twice to inquire about pool equipment and parts. For both times I was disappointed at their service. The employee there was trying to be helpful but he doesn't know what's he's talking about. If it's just a simple you have this, yes we do or nope we don't, then he's good for that. But when it comes to more complicated stuff like what brand and size of a heater I should get for my pool and why, you will have no idea what's he's talking about. When you are not sure about something, just check with your manager or look up in your system, don't just try to bs it through. Customer can be knowledgeable enough (Note: "Internet") to tell the difference between a piece of real advice and bs. The manager knows his stuff but was never friendly. Was even rude to his employee too. He's always seems to be in haste of something or somewhere else. I'd say go to the Leslie's pool in Chino Hills, and ask for Jeff or John. Been using Leslie's for maybe ten years. Not sure how long, but I've been consulting with Robert -- sometimes once a week when my pool gets "moody" -- for the past 2-3 years at least. He is also very patient as well and I bought all my stuff from him because of his amazing customer service he gave me and my family. I've been back to the store a couple of times since then and luckily Bethany was working. She's extremely thorough with the tests, the advice she's given has been right on. I wish I could give zero stars. I recommended Leslie's to a friend. What a mistake. I am humiliated because they exhibited the worst customer service and she hadn't even purchased anything from them yet. What a bunch of losers. Don't even waste your time with these jokers, you will regret it. First of all, over two weeks to come out and give an estimate on what was needed. OK, whatever. She made an appointment anyway. They could not narrow the time down to less than 4 hours (we will be there between noon and 4:00, you know the drill). Then after taking the day off from work, they never showed. No calls, nothing. After she called in, they said the technician called in "sick" and they would call back to reschedule. Great. A wasted vacation day, and she had to call them to find out what happened. Then they auto rescheduled, but was not on a day when she could be home. Was not able to get through to cancel or reschedule. But it didn't matter, because they did not show that time either. If they were this bad before she bought anything from them, imagine what they would be like after she gave them some of her hard earned $$$. I guess they don't need any new business. So take it elsewhere. Will never go back. Too bad, I liked the place before. But they showed their true colors. Move on. read more

DO NOT SHOP ANY @ Leslie's Pool Supply. Yesterday I visited the DIAMOND BAR Leslie's to see if I could return an item I had purchased at another Leslie's store. I was told that the girl working could not return pool equipment and that I would need to come back the next day to deal with the manager. I thought okay I will just go to a different Leslie's Pool and so I think I will call before I show up, maybe it is a policy that clerks cannot take back pool equipment (stupid policy but oh well). So I call the CHINO HILLS location, and the gentleman who answered the phone said he would need to talk to his manager and would call me back. I gave him the information from the receipt, and my contact information. He called me back and said they can take it, but it would cost me 15%, because they cannot sell it as new. I informed him that I did not open the box, that the store it was purchased from had opened it so I could see the product before I bought it. He said sorry the policy is that if the box is open 15% restocking fee. So I called the store the item was purchased from and asked if this is the policy, I was informed that they just do not want to take the item back and if he was willing to be called to confirm he opened the box, because he did, and that I might want to escalate the situation and talk to the manager. Why should I have to talk to a manager to return an item that was never used, three days after purchasing the item? Sorry Leslie's you are not the only pool supply place around hence I needed to return the item. I had the receipt, the product was purchased less than 3 days before, never was used; this is just bad policy and reflects poorly on Leslie's. I WILL NOT SHOP at Leslie's again because of this. Imagine if I had bought more than this $300 pump, $50 to return an item that they can turn around and sell for full price with one piece of tape. NO WAY! Let's say I bought a whole new filter system and brought it home and found out it will not work with my pipes or something. NO THANK YOU! Not a risk worth taking. Leslie's may be the closest game in town, but they are not the best in pricing, they suck at customer service (See my Hacienda Height review) and they have a crap-tastic return policy. I get better customer service from the internet then I did here and from the WEST COAST POOL SERVICE who installed the pump I ended up with. I would rather wait for the item on the internet than give one more dime to this company. SILVER LINING: Had it not been for the nice customer service oriented store in Lancaster (Cody was the sales guy there) I would have been stuck. Yes I had to drive from the Diamond Bar to Lancaster (96 miles one way) to return an item, hard lesson to learn, but I am done with Leslie's for all my pool supplies, no fault to Cody and the Lancaster store. read more

I came in for a water test. I was next in line and the person helping me started the test and then walked away to help another customer. My sample was left mid test and the other employees started tests for the people behind me. Essentially, I was pushed to the back of the line when the employee took my sample and walked away. When I addressed my concerns, they seemed apathetic and unapologetic. Perhaps because this is a free service, they feel my time is not worth their efforts. I called to ask about repair on a pool sweep. I spoke with Kevin. He would not even listen to me on why I was calling. He referred me to the 800 number. The 800-number referred me back to the store. All I needed was a couple of screws taken out of my pool sweep to replace it with the parts. I was told that they don't do anything on any pool sweep unless they sell it to you. No customer service.All they want to do is sell you a new product. I had already ordered the parts for my pool sweep I just needed help taking it apart. read more
