I came into this store with my sample of water ready to gain some knowledge about my pool maintenance as I am relatively new to in ground pool care. Andrea G was the associate in the morning at what appeared to be a slow time of day. She did test my water and give me a few recommendations as far as what test strips and chemicals. However, when it came to my more specific question as far as the DE and Muriatic Acid. She was very short with me. It almost seemed as if she was trying to rush me out of there so I can stop asking her questions. It felt like she was bothered that I continued to ask for clarification yet she was not very specific at all. She also just continued to say I am not sure you have to check the test strip without fully reviewing my water results. I eventually pulled it out and asked for a 3rd time to go over it with more details before I left the store so I can write down better directions for myself. Overall I say the experience was sub par and after reading all the great reviews for this store I would say it was disappointing. read more

My favorite place for all the things I need to maintain my pool. But I really have to complement the staff. They are great and go above and beyond in customer service and knowledge. Example; I was having an issue with my pool pump. I had already resigned myself to replacing the pump ($1700!!!) plus $500 installation. The manger Jeff looked at my pump and serviced it. He charged me $50 for parts and I re-installed my pump myself. Wow!!! Was I happy. Jeff and YouTube saved me $2200 dollars!!! Today, the threaded strap and brass bolt that holds the two haves of my Pentair pool filter was stripped. Bummer, I could not operate the filter. Looked at Amazon and saw the replacement part was $180 to $300!!! So at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon I drive up to Leslie's and asked if the part could be repaired or if not ordered. Adam, who was working that day showed me that only the brass bolt was stripped and the threaded part just needed to have the brass scraped off with a wire brush and a screw driver. In fact in between customers, he completed the work!!! Total price to repair the thing came out to $18 for a replacement brass bolt, which they had in stock. Adam saved me a few hundred bucks! All I can say is thank you. You guys really know your stuff. read more

Sure, the prices may be a bit higher here but the level of customer service you get can't be beat. Mark is exceptional. He's been super informative and helpful in our decision to purchase the MX8 cleaner. He even goes out of his way to help you to your car. Went here to get a filter for our spa. The younger worker was reading something at the counter and wouldn't look up. When I asked him for help he seemed bothered. When I asked about my filter he automatically said he didn't have any for my spa. He said he had a few filters for other spas. Funny because I never told him what kind of spa I have? I asked him to show me the filters and I saw a few ... one that looks like what I needed. He then asked some older guy sitting in the back and he also said they don't have any filters. Late this afternoon I stopped in to Leslie's as I needed a slip union as the one on my Pentair Mastertemp 400 somehow cracked. My store did not have the part in stock. Anthony and Mark were awesome to spend time to locate a part number and see if any stores have the part where I can get it today. The only store that 1 on hand was in Riverside. They were 30 miles away one way but no one else had it on hand or were closed. These guys went over and beyond to help locate the part I needed. I am happy to report that I finished my repair at 6:30 PM and at 8:00 PM I started the pump to make sure everything is working as it should be. Backstory: Bought a house with a pool. No prior experience with maintaining a pool before. I asked the previous owner who his pool guy was and he told me just to go to Leslie's. Instead of getting a pool guy I decided to give it a shot. In the last 5 weeks I have talked to John and Jeff extensively at the store. They have been so helpful and even breaking everything down as simple as possible. I bring my pool water there every week and now at my 5th week I'm feeling a little more confident that I can take care of this pool by myself. There's still a lot of YouTube and google that you need to do but John and Jeff answer your questions without brushing you off. They either need to give these guys pay raises or hire more people cause they are definitely busy every time I go in. The phone is always ringing and people walking in, so you have to be a little patient but for the most part they will answer all the questions you have. read more

Wow, disappointed. Purchased some pvc pool parts and did not use all that I purchased. Leslie's return policy is 14days. Big corporations can mean NO customers Service. But in this case I decided to call and voice my concern to management. I have to give credit where credit is due. He gave a sincere apology and protected his staff and I agree his staff wasn't the issue. Just a archaic corporate policy. You can bring your pool water in for testing, and have a full chemical report in minutes...... I've been doing my own pool maintenance for a few months. Me and My now wife went into the store early one morning, he showed us everything we would need, how and when to add chemicals, the works..... I've been doing a great job since, lol..... Zero issues. My Zodiac Max 8 stopped working, so I looked at u-tube, and it suggested replacing the direction controllers. I called Leslie's in Brea, Glendora, City of Industry, and La Puente. None of these stores had the controllers in stock, and they all suggested I contact the Chino Hills store and speak to Mr. Jeff. Well, I am so glad that I did. I went to the store, he inspected my Zodiac and found the problem. It was the controllers. He also provided me with the option of purchasing a new one. Previously, I had the idea of purchasing the Zodiac G3, which is only sold online, but I did not have the budget for it. Mr. Jeff gave me several options. Boy, does he know his stuff. He gave me a tutorial on the new Zodiac, but again, due to my budget, I just decided to fix my old Zodiac. He had the controllers in stock, which was great, and he installed them for me. Mr. Jeff is a great asset to Leslie's. He will answer your questions, and he goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. So if you ever have a problem with your pool, such as cleaners, pumps, etc., or just a simple treatment, go see Mr. Jeff. He will provide you with the best service. I had an issue with the pool vacuum not moving. I called Leslie' Chino Hills to see if they could troubleshoot over the phone. Mark suggested several things. Nothing seemed to work. He suggested I come over and that he would look at the vaccum. Mark opened it up and fix it within 30 seconds. I had no idea a Jacaranda tree pod had been stuck In the mechanism. That's all it took.
