Cal spas is great! We bought a new spa and were told it would be $500 to set up electrical. When the electrician showed up he said $3,000. I proceeded to get 10 quotes, and the best quote who also had the knowledge to do the job right was Rene - he got us hooked up for a lot less and he was very informative/professional throughout the process. The product needs improved! First swim spa lasted 18 months it cracked after 1 year of complaints it was replaced! The floor model delivered is worse. More cracks and peeling stickers, side that looks like melted siding under 25,000$ worth of shades to protect but the product fails. Don't buy it! I was given no selections because I was fooled into taking what could be arranged! No selection offered! Service no none existent. I was told both further service after delivery. They do not stand behind the product. 36,000 mistake not the worse in my life but it's bad mistake to buy a cal spa. The company needs to fix this seems each time I will report here to the world. i purchased a hot tub 2 years ago from Cal- Spas through Valley Hot springs. I have had it serviced every week by a professional cleaning service religiously. the tubing broke twice which they came to repair. the last time it broke we refilled our jacuzzi and a few days later it was filled with rust spots? no one can tell us what it is.... and now i have to pay almost $3,000 to replace it. this just doesn't seem right.... the product that was sold to me continued to have multiple problems and we are not even 3 years in... If I could give zero stars I would. From the dealer experience to the Manufacturer, one of the worst servicing experiences ever. Purchased a new tub in 2024. Parts to hold the filter and the filter basket in place were never provided. It took extensive research on my part to find out the problem. The manufacturer did not have an accurate BOM for my serial number showing what filter assembly was installed. They can't provide the parts and keep pushing me back to a dealer that is not responsive. The "customer service" at CalSpa basically said it isn't their problem, it's the dealers. WOW, what manufacturer of a product just puts their hands up and says not my problem, I just assemble and sell them. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY unless you want a product that isn't serviceable from a company that has zero understanding of customer service. read more

As a former Cal Spas parts manager in the city of San Marcos California I kind of have an inside view of the company. I would like to say that during my time there I was quite impressed with the product and that the serviceability of the equipment and the attention to detail that the manufacturing processed had was very detailed. Delivery was usually straightforward, and as long as the sales reps that were selling the product were informative enough to the customer deliveries went off without a hitch. As far as longevity of certain items it's usually based upon product placement and how a spa is maintained. During my four years there I saw spas that were 20 years old it looked brand new. I saw spas that were 3 months old that looked like it went through World War 3. So it just depends on the individual. Overall for value I do believe the Cal Spas delivers an exceptional project and unlike a few of the other competitors, they build their own spas in Pomona California. Hot Springs, Coleman, Caldera Spas, Freeflow Spas, Fantasy Spas, and Endless Pools are all made in the same Factory in Vista so if you're buying one of those thinking you're getting one that's better than the other their cookie cutter. They're good spas but there's really not much difference between them. So go with a Cal Spa and you will have longevity if you take care of it. read more

My real issue is with Core Covers which Cal Spas sells with their spas. We bought a new Cal Spa and Core Cover April 2022. Attached you will see the photos of the cover rusting from the inside and about to collapse. We are a couple months out of their 3 year warranty. Core Covers refuses to replace it. Core Covers and Cal Spas are multi million dollar companies but neither will help nor will the vendor who sold it to us. $11,000 for a spa and a cover is a lot of money for those of us who aren't millionaires. My expsrience was ok. The sales rep wasnt really specific on the pre planning aspect of things so I ended up ordering a crane to get the hot tub delivered and with that came extda cost. I was recommended a standard keypad instead of the touch screen keypad, looking back wish I would have purchased the touchscreen keypad instead as the standard one can be difficult to navigate through. bought a spa 2-1/2 years ago from the la county fair. i was told it had an amazing warranty but would probably never need it. my spa is now leaking after 2-1/2 years. i called in for the warranty and now being informed that "if" it is covered there will be a $165 service charge for the travel to my house 9 miles away? be aware of this kind of stuff from cal spas. after speaking with cal spas 5 times, they were kind enough to cover the service costs. read more

I would NEVER recommend purchasing a Cal Spa to anyone. This company delivers sub-par equipment and does not honor their warrantee. I purchased my spa last year and the heater has gone out of it already, continually blows the AC breaker. When contacting the local dealer, Lowest Depot/Tucson Hot Tubs, they refuse to honor the warantee as "they loose money on warantee service". Regardless of whether or not they loose money on warantee claims they are a CalSpa dealer and should honor the warantee. Upon calling Cal Spas directly regarding this issue, 4 times now, I am transferred by the operator to a phone answering system and me calls are never returned. When asking to not be transferred to voicemail and get a service manager directly, you are again transferred to the same voicemail that goes unanswered. read more
