My wife and I were really craving pho about 3 months ago and we decided to try this place based on some reviews. It has become our go-to pho spot since. In fact, we've ordered food from here about 10 times in 3 months. The broth is excellent. Good portions. Our daughter really likes the egg rolls. She's about 3 and whenever she says "I want soup" she's actually talking about wanting pho from this place. We've only had a chance to get our food to go due to COVID so I can only imagine it's even better being able to get our pho straight from the kitchen versus having to go home and prepare it. I wish I could recommend this spot to folks but the food is subpar; especially the banh mi (pork and chicken sandwiches). I come here often with my family, and today I came solo on a recommendation from my sister, she told me to order the shrimp wonton and bbq pork egg noodles soup and it was so so so so so good, everything tastes fresh and well balanced. the broth is delicious, the wontons are light and flavorful, the noodles not too chewy. from previous visits: the bun is delicious, the coconut water and thai teas are great!! Hmm... Based on my last visit, I wanted to give this place 3.5 stars. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, not fancy in any respect, but it's bright, clean and spacious. Plus, the location is great; it's situated on the end section of San Tomas Plaza with ample of parking spots. And with seating area aplenty, there's almost never any wait! Decided on the Pho Dac Biet (#33). Everything from the ordering to the food reaching our table was lightning fast (seriously, the fastest service ever!!). The broth was pretty neutral, beefy and clean tasting without too much star anise or other spices going on. The noodles were clumped together, but it's fine. The beef, however, was delicious; not too rubbery and great texture too. Portion size was generous; got their small bowl and they still give you plenty of noodles and meat which was nice. I can't lie I'm actually astonished at how bad this was. $72 worth of food. Egg roll, beef and rice. And sea bass fried rice. It was a to go order and they didn't include my friends rice in the bag. When I called to let them know I was gaslit and told that it was put inside the bag when it wasn't there... the sea bass tasted raw and entirely unseasoned. Blotches of the rice were complete white (no seasoning or soy sauce mixed in) no salt on anything.. very bland. I'm starving and it was inedible unfortunately. Very disappointing. I went over based on Yelp reviews today. My friend and I were in Campbell area, and this was closet from where we were. ordered spicy broth chicken pho and beef broth pho without meat. The service was quick so this maybe a positive thing, but I have never ever had pho broth tasted like "WATER". This review is to praise how good the Vietnamese coffee is. The price is pretty steep, I got it to go and it came out to be $8. I really do enjoy getting my Vietnamese coffee from here. I don't really eat here as there are better options if people are willingly able to drive to the east side of San Jose for Vietnamese. The cuisine here, I would say is definitely Americanize for the community that lives around here. I remember liking their clay pot dishes with the caramelized pork which reminds me of eating at a family's home so I found that comforting. read more

Why go all the way to East San Jose for pho when you can come to Le Quy? This place beats Jovie's (in the same plaza) by far and Pho Hoa by a million miles. It's authentic and the staff is amazingly fast. I always see them scuffling around making sure all customers are helped. Anyways, I've literally gone to Le Quy at least 10 times this year. It's a hot spot during lunch time. Luckily parking here is easy peasy. I'm so glad my foodie coworker introduced me to this gem! I have gotten everything from their pho ga (chicken pho) to their BBQ chicken vermicelli to their spring rolls and always left wanting to come back the next day. I came here with my family and my cousin's food looks better than mine. She ordered Hu Tieu Nam Vang, I believed. And I ordered Pho. My pho was a typical bowl of pho for whatever the price listed on the menu. Mine was a Pho Dat Biet Tai Rieng. They forgot to put the beef Tai Rieng and combined the beef into the pho. I want to put my lemon juice on the raw beef before adding it to my hot soup but no, I was disappointed. My cousin's food did look very fine and she seemed to enjoy hers. But since I didn't taste it, I will have no comment on it except for the appearance. The service was spontaneous. We didn't have to wait for a long time. The restaurant is very clean. The bathroom is clean too. I'd say as an Arizonan that the price is expensive for my little bowl of Pho Dat Biet. In Arizona, I get better Vietnamese food for cheaper price. Not sure why they changed the broth for the Pho, but it was the best in the bay area. Now saturated fats line over 1/2 inch of my broth of my takeout order. When I called the owner to let him know, he yelled back at the kitchen staff and them said "no, I don't believe you" hum, "we may put a little in, but not that much". WHY? WHY would you ruin your Pho by adding in so much fat? WHY would you tell a customer that you don't believe them? Sorry, I'm not eating here again! Great service! A+ super nice gentlemen in an interesting small town called Campbell. We stopped in for quick authentic Vietnamese. The menu is super easy to read, with menu subs and food mods and info on the menu (gluten free, spicy etc.) When it came to the food it was a whole different story, although the avo spring rolls were good and freshly prepared... the dry noodle special and grilled chicken bun bowl lacked soul. The dry noodle was bland, and the noodles weren't dry like you'd typically see, the savory sauce was more of a savory broth, with over cooked calamari and crab. The side broth tasted like Tom kha, a salty and sour broth usually with catfish or shrimp, it didn't complement the dry/wet noodles at all. The chicken and shrimp bun was decent. The chicken was good and the shrimp was chopped on the bias shell on so when grilled the shell was incorporated into the dry over cooked shrimp. Overall I wouldn't dine here again, perhaps the highlight is the pho! Which neither of us tried. Either way, if I'm in the area I'll head out to east San jo instead! read more

I asked for extra cilantro and onion and was given a plate of onion mixed with pieces of cilantro, I still didn't get enough cilantro for my liking. I ordered my go to drink cà phè sùa noung (I think that's how it's spelled) basically the hot version of the coffee with sweetened condensed milk. I like mine 212° HOT! Just a personal preference. This one was just reg hot. The favor of the coffee was a little lite for my taste but they nailed the the sweetness 3.5 stars. LeQuy- located at the very end of the CVS plaza is a tasty pho place with no MSG. I've been here about a dozen times and it has become one of five pho places in my rotation. A fair warning that the price to portion ratio you normally get at most pho places is not the case here. The #33, combination pho, is equivalent to a #1 at many pho restaurants (all the normal slices of beef you get, tendon, tripe, and beef balls) will run you $11 plus tax and tip. They have one size here. No MSG which is a selling point. They allow you to swap noodle types. They put a small slide of lemon into your water. read more

Enjoyed the fresh and tasty pho w/ chicken breast. The chicken broth is clear and has no MSG. Provided with ample bean sprouts, jalapeño, basil and slice of lime. I added a little of the chili sauce to give it a hint of spice in the broth but not too much. Staff is prompt and friendly. Finished my meal with Viet iced coffee which they bring to the table to finish dripping into a glass which I poured over ice (no plastic cups or pre-made like some places). Friendly and quick service! Ordered the pho dac biet (house special) that I'll rate in three categories: broth, noodle, and meat. The meat was the better part of the meal. The cuts of the chin nam (well done flank) still had a small amount of fat on it which is ideal for chin nam. The consistency of the noodle was lacking in that it breaks instead of maintaining a slight chewiness that you'd look for in a good rice noodle. The menu made sure to note that the establishment doesn't add MSG (monosodium glutamate) to their dishes which is an additive flavoring, but the flavor of the broth itself was lacking. Even though I ordered a beef based pho I'm almost certain I was given chicken broth. It was light in color and had a misplaced tang where there should've been star anis, ginger, cinnamon, and most importantly ox tail (beef) flavors. Overall: not bad, but expected more. read more

Haven't been back to LeQuy for a long time.... My first time visit wasn't that impressive, but it has been a while so give this a shot. First off, the price, I would say they are about 35% higher than most Vietnamese pho place. Price isn't issue, premium price, expectations will be there. Ordered chicken pho with dark meat and my kid order beef briskets pho, also added fry egg rolls. Egg rolls are way over priced x3 egg rolls at $11, they are just ordinary, it is the same quality of egg roll if I order at pho hoa. For my chicken pho, I ordered dark meat because I don't like dry white meat. well, I don't know what they did to this dark meat chicken, very dry and the texture tasted funny. It is like they cut the meat up, and then stack them together, then refrigerated them. It say free range chicken on the menu, but it tasted like supermarket frozen chicken. Come on man.... I had much better chicken pho around the area. So after a long while, it is still disappointing. Don't think I will try LeQuy again....
