I work and live in the area so I frequent many places, but Leone has a lunch menu which comes in handy when you can't order lunch for under $20 in this area. I ordered the meat lasagna. It was obviously frozen and reheated and I'm not sure it was even only one, it taste burnt and freezer burned at the same time. It's very disappointing that an establishment that' survived this long would just stop caring. This is not my first complaint but it is my first Yelp, I understand things change, the loss of the Owner, ups n downs etc but when you serve your customers old disgusting lasagna and charged me $11 even tho the menu said $9 it's time to speak up, UberEats I'm coming back! I've been wanting to try this place ever since Gordon Ramsay featured it on Kitchen Nightmares. They obviously took his advice because it's outstanding!!! Everything was perfect from the service to the food. My daughter got the calamari in the ginger sauce. It was perfectly cooked and the ginger sauce was light and tasty. As was the breading on the calamari. Not too much. The perfect amount. My wife and I had the avocado brushetta. Delicious!! I got the chicken special for my main (See pic) and I'm glad I did. It was SO delicious! My wife had been dying to try the eggplant and it didn't disappoint. We sat outside and it was the perfect evening to do so. Will definitely return! read more

Leone's has been steadily going down ever since Gordon Ramsey tried to fix it. it's now increasingly hit or miss on all menu items and getting worse. Watch out on the bill since they now slip in a tip without indicating the percentage which was 18% and then request for another tip in the final bill which also includes a credit card fee. read more

As you can see, there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom. We told the waitress so they would know, she walked back there kicked it to the corner and said "oh that's a water bug" However, you can obviously see that is a cockroach, NOT a water bug. I will never be returning. read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The Calamari was the freshest I've ever had. The margarita pizza was also the best I've had. Leones is a nostalgia factory, with old italian photos on every wall. Right as we walked in the owner greeted us with a smile and told us to go to the dining room. They were packed and said it might be a 30 minute wait but the owner shuffled some things around and sat us right away. The food is amazing ! The service is not ! I came to celebrate with my cheer team and not only did the food not arrive together but we didn't see our service thereafter . We sat in the dining area and all we could hear was the sound of plates hitting the tables and silverware clinging, In an attempt to clean the area I suppose . Only reason they even get a 2 stars is because the server Mike was very attentive and even though he wasn't our server, he ensured we were taken cared of. The management is a mess. If I had to define it in one word, it would be CHAOTIC! I feel bad for the servers here - they literally are just asked to take random tables without any sort of structure. We ordered a pie of pizza .. 20 mins later we got a cold pie. Literally, a cold ass pie! We told our server (not Mike), and she took the same pie and warmed it up lmao. Never been to a place where they just cook up the already cooked pizza instead of making a fresh new pie lol. There are so many restaurant options in Montclair. Because we found a parking spot nearby, we sat outdoors here. The unfriendliest server ever. They really need one that smiles and is courteous. Sign posted, looking for servers. The one menu has no sandwiches and 4 salad options. I asked for a lunch menu; only one menu for everything. Really poor selection for a light meal. I asked for an eggplant, mozzarella sandwich. If we didn't go back to the kitchen, they wouldn't have added 1slice of red pepper. No dressing. Really dry although excess cheese I took off. Came in from NYC and decided to stop by Montclair. Happy we did because Leone's is legit! The pizza was absolutely delicious: a cross between a thin and regular crusted pizza. I had their margarita and pepperoni. The margarita had fresh mozzarella which just melted in your mouth. Wish I could give 3.5 stars instead of just 3! Nice Italian restaurant in Montclair with outdoor seating. It's BYOB like most restaurants in Montclair. They sat me and my boyfriend right away and they have a pretty standard Italian comfort food menu. We got the cheesy garlic bread as an app, and I got veal parm while my boyfriend got the shrimp orecchiette. The food was OK- my veal was a little dry and the tomato sauce is pretty plain, but my boyfriend enjoyed his pasta. When I first walked in through the pizzeria I thought I was walking into a dump.... And then it opens up into a gigantic beautiful dining room. I was shopping in the Montclair area yesterday when I came across Leone's. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I was greeted as I came in by the host and seated right away. The waitress Angel was such a nice girl and went over the menu with me and made conversation. She made sure I had what I needed and checked in on me. Leone's is perfect for when you want a great to-go or delivery Margarita or Sausage and Arugula pie, but also a Burrata Jersey Peach Salad or Tiramisu. It is just a steady ship. Post Gordon Review: Hubby used to eat here a couple of years ago before in went down hill and after we saw Kitchen Nightmares, we decided to give it a go. I'm doing this crazy diet so my choices are limited but on the plus side, its opened me up to try dishes outside my usual comfort zone. Hubby got the Caesar and it was very good. Borderline too much dressing, but made fresh so it was OK and homemade croutons. I got the Mixed greens with cherry tomatoes and supposedly lemon dressing. It tasted like plain and simple olive oil. Could use more lemon. Entrees I had the salmon and asked for the spinach to be simply steamed on the side (since so many places drench it in oil) and it came out perfect. I also enjoyed the garlicky rock shrimp. Service: One of the women from the show got snippy when my husband asked her about it. Apparently she wasn't happy with the way it was edited or something. Aside from that, Joey, our server rocked! He asked if we wanted bread instead of just bringing it so it didn't go to waste. He checked in and made sure our requests were done perfectly, seriously we're complete pains in the tush when we order and he kept us laughing. I would return just to have Joey as my server. I found it odd that the owner kept roaming but never checked in on our table in the 25 times he walked past and looked at us. On our way out he was sitting and chatting with some regulars. A very nice family owned pizzeria restaurant located on a main street. They have a really nice size party room perfect for a friends baby shower. The eggplant rollatini was very cheesey and my shrimp scampi was a little well done and very lemony. Okay, here's the deal. My friend hadn't eaten lunch, and it was getting close to mid-afternoon. We were looking for a cafe or something where she could grab a sandwich and I could just order a latte. However, we started getting desperate (everywhere was so BUSY), and we finally stumbled upon this place. Montclair is choc full of pizza places. In the couple hours I spent walking around the town, I think I passed at least five different places with pizza on the menu. However, I didn't want to get an entire pie. I just wanted a slice and Leone's was a place where you could do just that. Leone's has two sections. The larger section is a two level restaurant with a ton of seating. This section leads into a much smaller area where the kitchen and brick oven are located. This area has its own entrance where you can just grab a slice. There are only about four seats in this section, so this is more of a "take out" area. I'm glad this is the section I went into because you get to see the brick oven in action and you get to see the pizzas prepared. The staff was very cool and efficient. As soon as we walked in two different people hopped to attention to take our orders. I felt very welcome there. We tried two slices. One with mushrooms and a plain slice. The crust is nice and thin and you can fold the slice NY style. The sauce has a nice tart, sweetness to it that I really enjoyed. The cheese was good but not overwhelming flavor-wise. The mushrooms added a good earthiness and they were more thickly cut than I'm used to, adding some nice meatiness to the chew. The crust end was crispy on the outside and had a great chew on the inside. I enjoyed the pizza here and was very happy my first pizza experience in Montclair was a good one! read more

You know what? I love Leone's. I know they've had ups and downs, but I think their food is really terrific. They must've listened to older feedback around customer service, who know, but everyone I've dealt with over the past however many months has been wonderful -- from the person taking an order over the phone, to an in-person server to the delivery person when I can't get it together to actually go there in person. My favorite? Orecchiette bolognese. Love that sauce; rivals mine. I'd say, give them a try -- and if you have tried them in the past and not been there in a while, give them another chance.
