My brother has been a LensCrafters customer for years, and has never experienced anything like this. He brought his glasses in for a simple cleaning, and the employee Melissa took them to the back and returned saying there was "a chip." Instead, the glasses were completely broken. She then tried to glue them back together, failed, and told him I "just need stronger glue." No apology, no reaction, no accountability whatsoever. The lack of professionalism and basic respect was unbelievable. These are his only pair of glasses and this has now caused him a huge inconvenience. The reason we love to get prescription glasses at LensCrafters is because of the massive selections of frames. No optometry carries that many styles. The prices are a bit higher here but they have promotions all the time. This store is conveniently located next to Nordstrom where we shop often at Brea mall. Our optometrist was very friendly and helpful. Everything went smoothly except they made the wrong prescription glasses for me! They made a pair of far sighted glasses but I am actually near sighted! It felt so weird to put on those glasses and everything was a blur! I've never experienced something like this at any optometry! LMAO! Of course they had to remake them. Hubby had to have his lens remade too cause the first ones weren't very clear. I think it's great that they have a 30-day period so customers can adjust or remake the lens. We really loved our Tom Ford and Dolce & Gabbana frames. Those are very stylish and comfortable. Transition and progressive lens were fantastic. The new transition lens are just like real sunglasses. The experience at this LensCrafter location was good enough. The staffs were friendly and helpful. They take most insurance, online appointments were easy and convenient to make. They texted us when our glasses were ready for pickup. We'd definitely be back for prescription glasses in the future. read more

I purchased glasses from Lena Crafters on 6/18. A little over a month later, my girlfriend noticed that one of the lenses was coming loose. I don't wear them daily, so I was surprised to see this issue so soon. Since we were near the store, I went in to ask for help. The manager, Robert, looked at the glasses, tried to push the lens back in with his bare hands, and when it didn't work, he just shrugged. He told me this happens with plastic lenses and that because I didn't purchase a protection plan, I'd have to pay $400 to get it fixed. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to or escalate the issue to he said no, that he was the only one, and told me to contact customer service. When I asked if he could help me get their contact info, he said "that's your job, not mine." I left, then came back hoping for better help but he gave me the same dismissive response. I was visibly frustrated, but he didn't care to offer any support or solution. It felt like once I declined the protection plan, they stopped caring about helping me at all. Thankfully, I called a different Lena Crafters location afterward. The associate I spoke with there was much more helpful, listened to my concern, and told me it sounded like a quality issue -- not user damage. She even gave me the customer service line so I could get further assistance, which Robert had refused to do. It's disappointing that someone in a management position at the original store couldn't offer even basic courtesy or accountability. Doctors and other staff were good except for this "one employee" that we've been ignored for the whole time.

This is one of the worst glasses shop i ever shopped from. I ordered my glasses earlier this year and the lady who works there does not care about customer service at all. I stepped in the store, and employees don't even greet or look at me and say hi. I thought they could not see me or i was invisible. Also they give you the display frame which is very dirty and not clean. In other shops, they give brand new frame but this place uses the same frame on a diaplay which people touched and wore many times. It seems that they just dont care after they sell and there is no negotiation or flexible on return policy. I wanted to exchange for other frame after a month and 2days, but they just said no and stubborn. Never coming back again. Don't waste time and go somewhere else. read more

Me and my son visited the Brea Mall Lens Crafter. We got our appointment for regular examination. Before arriving there I received couple of forms that I needed to fill before our appointments via messages. I filled them. When I arrived there they asked me to fill some more forms. I asked what is it about, they said general info. First I signed the first page and then they reminded me that I needed to sign the second page as well. They did not give me any other explanation. Since we were a little late and since I believe their professionalism I signed, they took us to pre examinations, did not give any prior information. At the end of everything they told me my total is $98 for two people. I asked why. It should be only $10 per person with insurance. They told me "you signed and received extra examination". I told them nobody informed me about any extra. They just told me you signed the document. After my explanations about not receiving prior information more than 3 times, they told me they will ask the doctor to contact me on Monday. Now it is 01/11/2024 Thursday 11:00 pm and nobody called me. I do not think this process is fair for customers. I want my money back, otherwise I will need to continue to take additional actions. I asked for regular examination and they sold me extra thing without informing me. If I can not get any response, I will do whatever I can do and I will talk about them to everyone that I know about how bad they are. read more

Terrible customer service. First & last time purchase or using their services. As a person that wears glasses, I know more about lenses and frames than the people working there. They scramble to find answers or ask each other and look clueless standing around claiming their system isn't working. They also don't immediately help you when there is literally no one in the store. This should have already been a red flag, but I needed to use my insurance before it was up. Eventually selected a pair of frames that I liked. ONLY FRAMES that I decided to purchase. They had a scratched up and scuffed one in the store (in the shelf the try on sample) that they tried to sell me, offered to place an order that claimed it would be available in 2 weeks. I said sure, as they would give me a call when it would be ready to be picked up. A month later and no call. I had to call them, called 4 times, it kept going to voice message. They finally answered after the 4th call. One associate helped, she put me on hold multiple times. I kept saying I have the receipt number, sales order number, order date, even the store associate number, every number possible that was on the receipt. She asked for my name put me on hold 3 times...back and forth asked for my name, then put me on hold and asked for bday then put me on hold. Then someone else came on the line and said they're going to help me because the other girl couldn't find it. Then once again I had to repeat myself over again. Imagine getting lenses there, if they are already this jumbled with FRAMES ONLY. I would not trust them to keep any prescriptions straight!! Thank goodness I decided not to get lenses there, they would probably mess that up too. They claim they have the frames & yet it took them over 20 minutes to find it in "their system"???? Did they just take the one from the shelf that's been tried on and scuffed? If their system isn't working or so they claim, they should have fixed it because it's been a whole month!!! Also note, the frames even with insurance applied, they were still cheaper elsewhere. DO NOT GO HERE. Their customer service and brand is a joke. Just go to an independent optometrist office. At least they know what they're doing instead of these untrained associateS. read more

Purchased glasses for my mom same prescription as last year they called me couple days later said they could only get a different lens I said okay 10 days later no glasses and I had to call to get updates. 14 days later no glasses and they said they could not do these glasses due to the prescription but in their file they have done this 4 times already as employee confirmed that. They would not give me a copy of the prescription back they said they had given it to me at purchase which is not true. Now I have to make a trip to her doctor which is just another inconvenience. I have bought over 20plus pairs of glasses maybe 30 and I will not be giving them my business again. Guy was nice but lack of follow up and service only to not have her glasses 2 weeks later. Terrible customer service. Assistant manager, Selina, Staff member, Bridget, Team lead, Araceli, need to be trained again. 1. bought two glasses from this store. Bridget made a mistake and scanned the same item twice. 2. Went back to the store few days after to get the price adjusted and Selina was so rude. First, no appologies. Her facial expression and attitude made us feel like we weren't supposed to be there. She told us that their systems are down, so she would call me in next two days to fix this. 3. No calls. I call the place, no answer. Left a voice message, no call back. 4. Back to the store AGAIN to fix this. Systems are still down. 5. Received a call week after that I have to bring my card to process the price adjustment. Selina specifically told me in the beginning that I don't have to come back to fix this issue, but look what happened. Yes, I did get the price adjusted and I do understand that they were having technical difficulties. BUT, did I make a mistake on the receipt? No. Did I know they were having technical difficulties? Not only is Dr. Sara Kim very friendly she is very detailed and thorough. I never knew I had a slight astigmatism in my eyes either because I would see clearer with my glasses but my contacts were always a little blurry and I always thought the cause was my dry eyes from allergy meds. She showed me the difference and I was amazed because my other eye dr never addressed this issue and just told me to put in rewetting drops :(. My daughter was looking for a new eye doctor and this location was recommended. The staff was excellent in the check in process during this time of COVID the location is super clean and they are cleaning every pair of glasses after you touch them. This is nice to see. My daughter enjoyed the doctor visit and said she took her time and explained everything to her and myself. I was amazed on home many different frames they have to choose from and very nice change from the smaller eye doctors. Had 2 visits here and would not recommend anyone to to go here. Keep in mind I have 20/20 vision. The manager tried to sell me the idea that it would "enhance" my vision. The Optometrist on the other hand was excellent I had concerns towards the prescription on my glasses giving me a headache. Manager couldn't address my concern instead provided attitude. Instead of trying to help me she instead tried to up sell me the same prescription instead with anti glare. I never had a problem with glare. Just the prescription. I instead just asked if I could just get a lens for my glasses with no prescription. The one that originally came with the glasses.The manager said if she did that, I would have to pay my glasses in full by myself without being able to use insurance. I talked to my insurance company and that wasn't the case, so she just provided me with false information. What really pissed me off is that my sister came in on a different day to get checked up. Turns out she also has 20/20 vision. So she wanted to just get a frame not needing prescription. She was able to get it with no problem. Really? We go here at lens crafters every year and we pay not just hundreds , but thousands for the whole family. Today, I picked up my son's eye glasses and my husband left his mask. I requested if I can spare one mask. Daisy said she can't give us one, because it's for the customers and we are just picking up the glasses. Well, if you care about getting the correct prescription for your eyes... then don't go this place. I will list a few facts here. I welcome whoever is monitor this business on social media to contact me since I am shocked at the mistakes this business has made to both of my daughter's prescriptions which could potentially hurt their eyes.. 1. Pull the wrong prescription from the system to get my daughter a wrong pair of glasses. In 2020, we had the eye exam and prescription. However, when we got the glasses, my daughter said she feel very dizzy. After almost 20 days of adjusting she still refuses to wear the new glasses, I took her back. The manager didn't even wait for us to finish, she cut me off and said "well, it take a few months to get used to new glasses". But my daughter is 13 years old so she know how she feels. But the manager still refused to do anything. I then demanded that they double check the prescription. Well, guess what they found out... They used the wrong prescription in the system. They used the prescription for my daughter in 2019!! When on the same day in 2020, when we purchased the eye glasses, we did the eye exam. Their staff somehow messed up and pulled the wrong prescription. What if I didn't insisted? what if I believed this manager? Well, everyone make mistakes.. the problem with the manager is that she refused to believe the customer might report a problem that need address. She refused to at least try to help the customer figure out why. She never apologized about this error and as a long time customer of LensCrafters (20+ years), I decided to let it go.. But it happened again in 2021. Here is what happened... In 2021, my younger daughter went there. During the exam, the doctor said everything is the same as your current glasses so no prescription changes. Well, because I have protection plan so I told the manager that I would like to use the protection plan to get a new glasses (I purchased the protection plan last year). But the manager said, no your prescription changed substantially so we can't use the protection plan. you need to pay full price. I don't mind paying full price but the doctor did tell me that the prescription stayed the same. So I kept telling her the doctor said it is the same, multiple times. But rather than trying to see what is going on, she asked me to go to the front of the screen, saying.. let me show you.. the prescription changed a lot. I don't know what happened. Then my older daughter step in to confirm that the doctor did say the prescription did stay the same. Somehow, my daughter made the difference. The manager decided to have her assistant to go ask the doctor ( I am not sure why she won't listen to me.. I am not a native speaker but my daughter is..?). Then when the doctor came back, we know the truth... The doctor was NOT looking at the correct prescription. She was looking at the 2019 prescription when my daughter is wearing glasses from 2020 prescription. Note, we have all of our glasses in this same place for the past three years. So how this could happen? how the doctor would look at 2019 instead of 2020 one? Because they input my daughter's name wrong last year!! I actually noticed it last year in 2020 and asked them to correct but they didn't. So as a result, the doctor was not able to pull the correct information. Well, again, everyone make mistakes.. but what happened after shocked me again. The manager insisted that everything is fine. even though the doctor was using the wrong/old information to compare, we should just go ahead to use the prescription. Well, as someone who wear glasses for the past 40 years, I know eye prescription is not rocket science. it is sometimes even subjective. The doctor will use the machine reading, compare with their information of the current prescription, then decide on the new prescription. How I know for sure that the doctor's prescription is still accurate when I know she was using the wrong information to compare with? Then I asked to have the doctor to double check. the manager becomes very impatient. But after I insisted, she went back and talked to the doctor. As a result, the doctor, when comparing against my daughter's correct prescription had to made big adjustment to her new prescription (from like 150 to 100, etc). Imagine if I followed her advise and didn't have the doctor check and just go with the first prescription? I would have damaged my daugther's eyes. well, like I said everyone makes mistakes but how to deal with the mistake? This business is under a very bad management in the following ways: 1, messy system that can't even get the repeating customer name correct 2. didn't correct mistake after customer pointed out so doctor can't pull correct info. 3. the manager is rude and arrogant, not willing to listen to customer. I called to make an appointment for an eye examine today. I'm all about equally opportunities, but gessh! All I wanted to do was make an Appoinment! I had to repeat the same basic information over and over... spelling my first and last name over and over... and still not getting it right. She had a thick accent which is fine, but when putting someone on the phones make sure they comprehend English. I love getting my eye exam with Dr. Gewon Shu. Even though there's always an allotted time frame for each client in this type of industry, I don't feel rushed during my eye exam. Dr. Shu takes her time to address my concerns and questions. In regards to my prescription glasses, I had requested the sales team to send me pair of new frames as opposed to the ones on display. I was informed that it would take about two weeks for my frames with lens to be processed and fulfilled. I received a text that they were completed and tried them on in store and loved them, but upon more inspection at home later that evening, discovered some scratches on my frames. I called the next day and addressed my concerns. The sales team had me come in, express shipped a new pair, and changed out my frames. Overall, I am pleased with my experience and look forward to my next visit! read more

I asked about combining my husband's VSP insurance coverage along with my VSP coverage and I was loudly accused of insurance fraud by the white male, approx. 30 yrs old with short brown hair, and white female, approx. 30-35 yrs old, 5'10"ish, employees. They degradingly informed me that I had committed insurance fraud if I had purchased glasses doing just what I was asking them about. But, in a shocking turn of events, I came to find out after talking to VSP that some plans allow this. In all fairness to the male employee, the female was the one "schooling" me but the male chimed in when she said "they can ultimately come after you for fraud" and he said he had seen it happen. Glasses in an hour! Hahahaha! NOT! I took my mom here to get glasses as this one of of the places her HMO insurance company authorized her to get them from. Where do I start? Well we got there around 2-2:30 in the afternoon and did not leave this place til 6pm! Seriously WTH? Things seem to move really slow here...and I mean slow! My mom needs bifocals and wanted to have transition lenses. We were told her glasses will be ready in 10-20 days! hahahahhaha! Seriously! If you were to go to another optometry office or even Costco for that matter it would not take this long! Price wise, they are still expensive! Still ended up paying around $400.00 for her glasses out of pocket. Her glasses were not even really designer/high end frames. They were just Anne Klein's. But alas, this is my mom, so I don't mind paying for something she needs. Customer service wise, they were pretty friendly and helpful. Next time, we are going to Costco Optical, even if it means not using her eye insurance. It would have been cheaper if we went through them in the first place. read more

Supervisor Monique was nice enough to help fix a bent frame for my sunglasses. She warned me that they will not be liable if they break the sunglasses so that scared me, but they were so bent I couldn't wear them anyway so I took the risk. She was careful enough not to forcefully bend it back into shape and took her time. It was fixed and I can wear them again! I heard from other reviewers that it's extremely overpriced but then again I guess you are paying for the brand LensCrafters and also the convenience of it being in brea mall. Ive been going here for almost 8 years. I have had great customer service for the last 6 years. I decided to write this review after this latest mess up. Two years ago i was told that i could buy Oakley sunglasses and bring them into their store and get my prescription put in. After i bought them, i walked in and they told me oh we do all the Oakleys except those. We have to ship those to the factory to do those. They charged me $300 plus i had to wait 4 weeks in order to get them. I was okay with it. I received them and was told that i couldn't warranty them or anything since a third party was involved. In February this year they were stolen. I rescheduled an eye exam last week to get my prescription renewed. They called and told me my reminder yesterday. I got there and they said we dont have you down at all. They said oh you might be at the one around the corner. So i had to hurry over there and was late to my appointment when they told me it was at this one. After I got to the other one they said that this location ripped me off and said that they make lenses for the sunglasses i purchased two years ago. Go to the one by Jamba Juice! This place is a scam and treat you like a typical mall crowd. read more

My mother and I both needed glasses so we decided to go down to the Brea Mall LensCrafters to get quotes on frames/lens prices that we could compare against prices online, but I also needed my current pair of glasses adjusted. So we picked out some frames and got their prices and everything seemed fine until I told her I also needed my glasses adjusted. So I gave her my glasses to get adjusted and she comes back with them nicely refitted but with a HUGE DEEP SCRATCH across the bottom right lens which I point out to her is new and that she scratched them, and SHE DENIES IT! Tells me that was already there, um I don't think so sweetie I know what scratches are on the lenses I look through every single day. Turns out the girl who was helping us, her name is Frieda Olivia by the way, was the general manager of the store so I had nobody higher I could complain to other than corporate. My lenses are also somewhat special with astigmatism so it would of taken 2 weeks to order new lenses if I could of been compensated anyway so I might as well order my new frames/lenses online anyway UGHH now I get to look at this giant scratch for 2-3 weeks. My mother and I came to the conclusion that this scratch was done in spite that we were just in their store to get quotes and not make a purchase. This place will never get any business from me again, and I would urge anyone who reads this review avoid this place like the plague, and if you really need to go to this store stay the hell away from the general manager Frieda Olivia, she is there for your money not to help you. read more
