I first came to Visual Effects Optometry about eight years ago to get my first set of prescription eyeglasses before I was about to lose my vision insurance. I saw Dr. Dang back then and got the standard set of eye tests, and he found the parameters for my prescription. They have a large selection of frames, and I ended up with a nice pair of Oakleys that I still have to this day. Since I no longer have vision insurance, I have gotten new lenses a few times over the years from Costco. Since I got the frames here, I stop by once every few years when something doesn't feel right, or if the nose pads seem worn. Diane always seems to be at the front desk, and amazingly remembers me every time I walk in the door even though it is pretty infrequent. She is always so friendly and helpful, and adjusts my frames perfectly every time. I really should get a quote for new lenses from them next time, maybe it is not that much of a difference even without insurance. Dr. Dang was great, and Diane is the best. I would recommend Visual Effects Optometry.

We have been looking for a new eye doctor that's closer to us and found this place through Yelp. Facility is clean and well-maintained. They have many options for eyewear- style, brand, etc. The best part is their staff are all warm and accommodating. They make you feel comfortable and assists you patiently in deciding about which pair to get. Dr. Dang was so thorough during the exam and explained everything so well. Definitely staying here for the long haul.

Super friendly staff and knowledgeable staff. Very efficient, I was in and out in 30 min. Exam and picking my frames. Very helpful when choosing glasses! They never fail me. I got a pair last year and I got 2 this year!

Cool glasses!

My kids and I have been coming to Visual Effects Optometry for years. Four years ago, we moved over 20 miles. I changed my medical office and dentist to be closer to home. Except for VEO! The doctors and staff are so welcoming and they make the effort to get to know you personally. This is optometry is the best!!!

The office assistant escorted us to get the eye images and screening questions done. When asked about current medications, I replied that we only administer Advil or Motrin for fevers and pain, and she didn't ask any follow-up questions. Instead, she led us back to the exam room to wait for the doctor. As soon as we entered the room, my daughter dropped her belongings and dove into playing with her slime. The doctor walked in just as my daughter was reaching for tissues to wipe off excess hand sanitizer. The doctor's expression was puzzling - I couldn't tell if it was her natural demeanor or a look of distaste. "Oh, I heard your daughter is sick," she said, and I confirmed, "Yes, she was, last week". Given her medical expertise and credentials I expected more in-depth questioning. Instead, it seemed like she relied on assumptions rather than gathering thorough information about my daughter's medical history. It was surprising that she didn't take the opportunity to ask more questions and gather useful insights before or during our visit. She just looked at my daughter and told her "yeah, you look miserable" I was taken aback when the doctor said those exact words to my 12-year-old daughter. Her choice of words was not only unprofessional but also potentially damaging to a young and impressionable mind. It made me wonder how healthcare professionals in this office speak about patients when they're not within earshot. So I questioned her "what?? miserable? how can you tell her that. You have poor choice of words". And she said "well she doesn't look very well" and tried to rephrase it in other ways and started giving me the definition of miserable. I was appalled when the doctor offered to see my daughter another day. Why would I subject my child to a healthcare "professional" who lacks empathy and basic diagnostic skills? The doctor's failure to ask fundamental questions about allergies, medical history, and symptoms was staggering. Instead, she made assumptions based on a single observation - my daughter grabbing tissues. Her incompetence was alarming, and I wouldn't trust her to provide adequate care for my daughter or anyone in my family. Now I wonder, if other people knew, would they trust her to treat and diagnose their vision? Witnessing a healthcare professional in a white coat behave so unprofessionally was extremely upsetting. What's worse, instead of apologizing directly to my daughter for her hurtful comment, the doctor downplayed the situation by offering a casual invitation to return another time. Her lack of accountability and empathy was appalling, and ignoring my daughter's feelings only added to the harm. A simple acknowledgment and apology would have gone a long way in resolving the issue. Instead, her indifference compelled me to share our distressing experience, serving as a cautionary tale about the importance of empathy in healthcare. After declining her services, I walked out of the office. As I was walking to my car, I realized I needed to return for a doctor's note for my daughter's school. When I went back, it was clear that the doctor was gossiping with the front desk staff about our encounter. 5-7 people huddled in the front desk, like Jesus! you couldn't wait until I left the parking lot at least? The unprofessionalism was staggering - but not surprising; instead of reflecting on her behavior, she was sharing our personal business with others. So much for privacy rights.

I was immediately welcomed in by the sweetest girls working the front. I was seen by Dr. Randy, who give me so much insight on what I can do resolve my eye discomforts and with my vision. He gave such a thorough explanation of what he saw within my test results, which I really appreciate as someone with minor knowledge on anatomy of the eyes. I was then passed on to the lovely girls up front to pick out my glasses and they were so helpful! The girl helping me noticed I was very conflicted with so many wonderful choices in eyewear, she brought out the whole office team, including Dr. Jennie to help me decide! Such a great moment and really gave me a feel of how much they care for the customers and treat you like family. I will always recommend this place to family and friends! Such amazing service!

The guy at the front desk on 3/9 Monday morning, literally said " I just work here, if you want to complain, you can wait until my manager gets here in like 40 mins or come back another day" Like other customer complains, my time is precious and not being able to see patients when appointments are confirmed online should be taken seriously. If we need to bring confirmation email or proof, as long as it's notified, we are happy to do so. But when it's not the patients fault, they need to make up for our time.

Fast forward like 3 years later one of my twins (not naming which one) likely took my glasses and either threw them away or put them with the rest of our lost buried treasures of things that go missing. I was forced to wear my glasses that lived in the drawer when I worked at my desk then decided since I had the parts that their had to be a way to have them fixed.
