They handled my youngest child with a lot of patience and care and didn't even make us feel bad about it. They have a wide range of frames - they also had my preferred brand (ray ban). They also had a lot of nice options around lenses. I have super sensitive eyes and my prescription is thick. It was nice that I could get high index anti-glare lenses with protective anti-blue light coating. This is the bare minimum I need otherwise I can't drive at night. They also offer transitions on-top of that too, which was also cool. One of the best VSP supported options out there. The doctors were super nice and very thorough in the examination. To ensure that I'm providing an honest review, I do have to say that they offer you a lot of upsells around various types of tests. For me, I didn't mind it, because I have bad eyes and I want to make sure they are in good health. I usually opt-in for these additional services anyways (like retina imaging, et..). If you don't want these services, you can decline. I understand why they do it. It's partly to be helpful, but also, as a small practice, they are unable to process as many patients as large chains and are not able to spread their costs across a wider variety of locations and options. Therefore, they try to maximize revenue per patient to keep their practice running. Personally, I don't mind that and get it - and I like supporting small local businesses if I can. They are also not forceful or abrasive about it, which I appreciate. That would have been a turnoff for sure, but they are very nice about it. Finally, if you get your frames and lenses from here, they are under a 1 year warranty that's included in the price. So you can use your glasses worry free. For me, because glasses are so important in my daily life, I'm always worried about messing up new glasses so this helps a lot in giving me peace of mind to just use them! Everyone at the front desk was super kind and Dr. Randy Chun was informative, kind, and very efficient. I had such a good experience that I even had my mother go to them and she said it was one of the most thorough exams she's ever gotten! Alyssa was also very patient and helpful while I looked at the various types of frames they had. I think that's the hardest part about going to the optometrist! And they were quick to inform me when my glasses were delayed in the lab. Overall, a great experience and will definitely return again.

What's frustrating is that after the delay, they suddenly were able to email the prescription anyway. The lack of communication and nonchalant attitude throughout the process felt unprofessional and unreliable. Because of this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

They have helped me tremendously and I wish I knew about this place earlier when my back pain first began a few years ago. I do a range of treatments with them, including physical therapy, acupuncture, and even cupping. The staff is like family and the atmosphere there is so positive and kind and they make you feel like family. Every single one of them has contributed to my well being. Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

The office refused to treat me, for a raging bladder infection that they tested me for, even though I'm a regular annual patient. I refused to pay the $50 to come BACK to the office the same day, for the RX. 3. His physicians assistant incorrectly diagnosed me as having HPV. And I had to go to another doctor for an incredibly painful procedure, all for nothing. I did not have HPV. 4. In my opinion Kurtz now has a God complex, he didn't used to. ***5. THEY REFUSED TO TREAT ME, AFTER I LEFT MY URINE SAMPLE....UNLESS I PAID WHAT FEELS LIKE A $50 EXTORTION FEE, in order to give me my prescription. When the doctor says they don't hold back care because of an unpaid balance, that is entirely incorrect, and I believe he's lying. His behavior is reprehensible, and he is fully aware of this. Don't say you weren't warned. ....*add the fact that he stands by his uneducated and extremely unprofessional staff, says even more. Do better Dr Kurtz. We ended up going to Dr Annette Bernhut in Orange and she is AWESOME. She cares about you as a person, vs you being the enemy

Last time I left a message for the doctor, I had to repeat a simple question 3 times because they didn't understand it the first two times. Of course never heard back from them. I came in specifically because I was feeling unwell and suspected a blood sugar issue--especially since lab work from a different clinic the prior week showed a fasting glucose level high enough to indicate diabetes. Despite explaining this, the Physician Assistant (PA) dismissed my concerns, told me I "didn't fit the profile" for diabetes, and ordered a thyroid panel instead. Three days later, the support staff called to tell me they lost my blood sample and needed me to come back in. When I expressed frustration that they lost my sample for a test I didn't even ask for--while still refusing to run the metabolic panel I actually needed--the staff member literally hung up on me. I only returned the next day because it is within walking distance of my house and I was having the same feeling again, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening. While the PA on duty that day was attentive, she ended up sending me to the ER for my blood pressure. After waiting four hours at the hospital, the ER doctor confirmed it wasn't an emergency at all. To top it all off, I received another call from the urgent care informing me that they did eventually run a metabolic panel, and my A1C and fasting glucose levels are, in fact, indicative of diabetes. Between the PA completely dismissing a patient's concerns, the staff losing blood samples, and being hung up on, the lack of professionalism and competence here is alarming. Go somewhere else.

The staff is friendly, efficient, and made the entire process smooth--from check-in to pre-testing. Dr. Chen, optometrist was thorough, attentive, and took the time to explain everything clearly without making me feel rushed. I really appreciated how he answered all my questions and made sure I understood my eye health and prescription options. He recommended multifocal contacts which is a game changer! I can see both near and far. The selection of frames was also impressive, with a variety of styles and price points. Overall, the visit was professional, comfortable, and efficient. I've been going to OC Eyecare for about ten years. My elderly grandmother also was a patient of Dr. Swearingen before she passed away. So I think I can speak for at least two generations! The doctors are great. There is definitely a culture of using the latest of technology there. Staff is courteous and efficient. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes before being called in for my appointment, if that! I once had some symptoms that caused me to call for an appointment...the receptionist asked me several questions and then advised me to come in anytime, as soon as I could make it. I happened to see Dr. Dougal on that occasion and was very pleased with his care. I just would not consider going anywhere else at this point! read more

I:, my wife , and kids, have been going to OC eyecare optometry for perhaps 25 years. We ahve been hellped by Dr. Dougal during this time. I find the office to be great for the usual reasons, professional competence, organized office and a pretty friendly family type atmosphere. Dr Dougal has helped me ( and my wife also) through 2 cataract operations with his advise and recommendations. However recently Dr D. caught the beginings of matricular degeneration and pulled his connections to get me in to see a Matricular deneration group. He got me in that group the same day ,2 hours ; later, ahead of a 6 weeks line. DR. D and his group are good guys to have in our corner when you have a vision emergency. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Jeffrey Dougal for 25+ years. He is excellent and caring. The office has all the latest equipment for testing your eyes. He keeps abreast of all the latest information on contact lenses and evaluates/consults on lasik surgery options. He takes the time to discuss all eye care options. I've referred many friends. Appointments are easy to book with his helpful, friendly office staff. You can usually be seen within a week and there's very little waiting time once you arrive. read more

I have been going to Dr. Swearingen for over 25 years. I have been very happy with him. My daughters also go to him. He always treats us very nice and helps in any way he can. I was even able to try different contact lenses to see what I could handle. The office has been able to get us in for emergencies the same day. His staff is always very helpful whether helping to pick out frames or making extra copies of receipts for insurance purposes. I hope to be able to continue there as long as possible. read more

My wife just got her new reading glasses and three days later they got a bad scratch on one lens and they got it replaced with no problems. My husband and I have had Dr. Swearingen as our doctor for more years than I can count. He's the best - personable and very professional! The staff at OC Eyecare are also friendly and personable. My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Thomas for many years. We always get very personable service. Easy appointments, fast service. One year replacements on frames and lens's if you have a problem if purchased at the office. I've had frames repaired and one pair replaced under their warranty. read more

OC Eyecare Optometry is one of the best kept secrets in the area. The eye doctors have decades of experience. They have the latest equipment. Best of all, the optical department is quick, efficient and OPEN on Saturdays. I give them my highest rating. read more

Dr Tran is kind, patient, and truly compassionate in her care -- will to squeeze me in on Saturday. A sign of getting older is realizing you need glasses for night driving, and Dr. Tran took the time to explain everything and make sure I understood night vision issue is common. The clinic itself is clean and welcoming, the staff is friendly , and the selection of glasses is extensive with lots of great brands. I noticed these past two years, it harder to speak with the receptionist, as the preference is now texting. Highly recommend Century Optometry.

I had more tests than I've ever had before, including some that were covered by my insurance but had never been offered to me elsewhere. Dr. Kaku used equipment I hadn't seen before and took the time to explain every result clearly. I never felt rushed. What I appreciated most was how approachable he was. He welcomed every question, explained everything with patience, and made the entire visit feel relaxed and comfortable. Even while waiting for my dilating drops to work, he stayed with me and continued answering my questions instead of moving on to the next patient. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the insurance and payment process was simple and transparent. This was, without a doubt, the most thorough and positive eye exam I've ever had.
