Love this dude. I visited him 11 mos ago, but for some reason I was told by his staff to come for an eye exam. I've been going to see Dr Phan for over 2 years and order contacts through him. Last year, however, I did a routine eye exam and opted out of the contacts fitting (My rationale is: why would i try to fit a contact lens brand that i already know the fit of?) so I would be charged less. Imagine my confusion when the staff told me that my exam last year were for glasses. I havent worn glasses in forever! They make my head hurt :( Apparently, if you "opt out" of the fitting, they think you are doing a glasses exam. Which is why they asked me to come back in this year for a contacts exam in order to get my prescription/new lenses. I had to argue with 3 of their frontend staff, but Dr Phan came out & wrote me a prescription anyway. He also explained that the contacts fitting wasnt exactly optional, and all optometrists require it to avoid lawsuits. So while i went in last year to order new contacts, thinking i opted out of the fitting fee, they gave me a glasses exam and still ordered my contacts. Now, despite switching insurance and not having vision add-ons, I decided to get a new exam anyway since i was already there. They charge $69 without insurance, which is reasonable. So I just did that, ordered a box of the new contacts and went on my way. Excited too that my new contacts arrive in 3 days! Anyway, I wouldve rated these guys much lower, if not for Dr Phan's very good and patient bedside manners as a doctor. He completely understands the patients point of view and never comes off argumentative. Also, he remembers me! I come once a year to their clinic! I think that's amazing. As long as I live where I do, I will definitely continuing going to Dr Phan's clinic. :) read more

I've been wearing glasses for over 30 years, and of all the optometrists I've seen, Dr Phan is my favorite. He's super chill, has a great sense of humor, and patiently answers your questions in a way that's easy to understand. This optometrist office is quite small, so even though they accept walk-ins, I would recommend making an appointment. Their selection of frames lean toward more lightweight styles. I discovered Dr. Phan through a Groupon search I did a few days ago. Initially and understandably skeptical because it was SO cheap to get an exam and contact fitting. It was advertised as $39 for the whole deal. I had my girlfriend call in to get the details because I've never had contacts so she knew what questions to ask. The person who answered the phone was knowledgeable and nice despite our myriad of questions. Everything sounded great so I was able to schedule an appointment within the hour. As soon as I finished my paperwork, I was already going through their exams. Dr. Phan was nice, reassuring, and comfortable to be around and explained why we were doing certain exams and what they were accomplishing. I was pretty nervous about putting in contacts at first, especially because he was helping me put them in. I didn't want to frustrate him, but they actually went in pretty easily and they taught me how to take them out also. I can't believe I got contacts the same day! My entire time there was 40 minutes, but definitely not an hour. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I was very skeptical of the reviews at first because they were all great, but the reviews really do live up to their expectations. I didn't know when I made the appointment but he specializes in dry eyes and I happen to have really dry eyes. He took the time to really help me understand the condition and I'm hopeful it will get better with his help! I love coming to this Office! I always leave feeling well taken care of. The friendliness of this staff is genuine and the receptionist always picks the BEST glasses for me! She picks styles I would never pick for myself but I swear, every time, I get so many compliments. And Dr. Phan is so attentive and personable. He listens and really puts me at ease. They go the extra mile, I've walked in without an appointment and they always make time if they are able to. (But it's always best to make an appointment because you might not be so lucky to walk in when no one is currently being seen). I know sometimes they may be closed but it's rare. They do recommend calling first before coming by but do it because you won't regret it. I've been coming here for years now but I only come when I need new glasses and kid you not, they always remember me. And the guy before me also walked out happy and that's always a good sign when others are also happy with their care. I've worn glasses for 20+ years so I've seen many optometrists over the years. Dr. Phan is, without a doubt, the friendliest optometrist I've ever seen. He introduced himself with a firm handshake, and joked with my boyfriend and I during our exams. He fully explained everything he was doing and made me feel very welcome, like I was visiting a friend who just happened to be checking my eyesight. I was surprised to find out that I've actually been wearing the wrong prescription for several years. I thought that one eye would always be blurry and just accepted it, but Dr. Phan was more thorough than anyone else I've seen and it turns out I am capable of seeing clearly! He also told me the pressure of my eyes, which is something no other optometrist has thought to share with me. Overall we had a wonderful experience and my boyfriend and I both left smiling. Went with a Groupon to have my eyes examined for contact lenses. To make a long story short I purchased contact lenses but did not receive an original box for the lenses. I received individual lenses. I thought that was strange. I went home feeling uneasy about the whole transaction. I researched how much the lenses would cost & I was charged 2x the amount online with a $30 off rebate from the office. I went back the following day to return the lenses & that was not a problem but they made me pay 4% charge for using my credit card! I was here a month ago when I thought about changing my glasses as the paint on the frame was peeling off. PROFESSIONAL:- Dr. Phan was very nice and helpful. He was very meticulous when it comes to checking my eyes and explained everything prior and after each checks. He seems to know his customers well. I purchased an eye exam and $160 credit towards glasses via Groupon. There is no fine print or disclaimer that you have to pay another copay of $10 at the office when you arrive. I should have called in advance to find out but I had already purchase the Groupon. I could have refunded but...oh well. Now I know. The staff here are really nice and they do know what they're doing. But I didn't really like the selection of frames they had and when I asked if I could just have the frames they said no. BEWARE-BAIT & SWITCH OPERATION!!!!I would give a negative star if I could. I bought a Groupon for $23.00 for eye exam and $45 credit towards contact lens fitting. I didn't need the contact lens fitting but the I was going to use the eye exam. When I called to make the appointment they would not honor the eye exam if I didn't get the contact lens fitting. NO WHERE on the Groupon description did it say that I would be required to have the contact lens fitting. They told me to cancel my Groupon , that they would not honor it.
