He also had very limited appts since he is the OG in eye procedures! My patient Liason was Jennfier, who is a total sweetheart. Dr. Tooma was awesome in explaining why he recommended EVO ICL over lasix. He was also one of the original surgeons who brought all this technology to California. Now I can see why my ophthalmologist wanted me to specifically see him. I decided to go with his recommendation since he is the expert. Pre-op procedures were very extensive, which I don't mind at all. I opted to purchase the medicated eyedrops through them. The procedure itself was at a different location nearby. Entire staff has been wonderful. I had my procedure done yesterday. I returned to the clinic in the afternoon for a post op check & also came back earlier today. I have not been able to drive due to the healing process, but I should be able to see. I am still sensitive to the light and there's still a lot of inflammation in both eyes. I am gradually able to see better, so it just takes some patience. I am returning for another check up tomorrow. I love how thorough the doctors have been..I feel comfortable knowing I have been in good hands. As long as my vision improves and I don't have to wear contacts or glasses, I can't complain!

Some of you might be like me and have extremely high myopia and want the vision freedom. From my experience, I researched ICL surgery since 2019. Once EVO ICL was FDA approved, I started looking for a surgeon for advice and see if I was a candidate. Before choosing IQ Laser Vision, I had gone to a different surgeon and he did say I was a EVO ICL candidate, however I was not impressed by him. I was later referred to IQ Laser Vision, where they contacted me and scheduled an appointment to see if I was a candidate. Their multiple offices made it easy for me to go meet with an advisor and doctor. However, with personal reasons, I was unable to get the surgery done during that year after that initial consult and going through their state of the art arcscan (apparently they're the only office that are using this technology to make sure to see if your eye has enough space/vault...very cool). Fast forward March 2026, I contacted IQ laser vision again in hopes that maybe I can ask them for another consult. Again, the advisor walked me through, doctors did their check up, arcscan again (still cool) and I was able to schedule my surgery. It was an honor to have Dr. Robert Lin be available to do my EVO ICL surgery. He was incredibly patient with my questions, listened to my story of researching this procedure, and I knew I was in good hands from someone who had worked on so many eyes. Perhaps my favorite part aside from the whole journey of vision correction and having 20/20 vision is that you can feel how much Dr. Lin cared for his patients. He called me personally to make sure my first day post surgery was ok. And even after 4 months later, he contacted me to make sure I was ok and how I am liking my vision. For those who are like me going back and forth about vision correction, I highly recommend making an appointment/consult to see if you can be a candidate. From there you can move forward and make that decision. I know it was later than I anticipated for myself, but I can truly say I am happy having that peace of mind that I can wake up and see, not have to worried about my glasses/contacts during a possible evacuation (fire or earthquake), and do water sport without fear of infections if I wore my contacts. That mental peace is probably the second to best part of this journey.

At 41, I've started to think that advancements in eye correction technology are much more promising than what has been available in the past. Surgery can be a daunting experience, especially when it involves your eyes. However, I encourage you to try the "Evo ICL" it's safe and has improved since last year. One of the best parts about this procedure is that if you're not satisfied with the results, or if a better option comes along, you can reverse the treatment. So, there's really no major risk if it doesn't work out. I qualified for the "Evo" ICL, and while I had my doubts at first, I've learned that patience is key when adjusting to a new way of seeing. Along with eye drops to aid the healing process, I found that after about three months, my eyes began to coordinate and adjust. What was once a constant dependency on glasses is now improving, and I'm starting to feel more normal without them. It's funny; I still find myself touching my face to lift imaginary glasses that no longer exist--it's just a habit! I highly recommend this option to anyone who wants to change their vision, whether it's for practical reasons, like gaming without glasses or to keep up with future technologies like AI glasses. As technology continues to advance, my previous vision issues made it difficult to enjoy some of these innovations. This procedure has truly helped me.

When I went in for a consult, I was unfortunately not a good candidate for LASIK. Dr. Feinerman suggested another procedure called EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) that I was a good fit for. Despite the higher cost compared to LASIK, I was totally on board. I scheduled my surgery appointment afterwards and I was given instructions on how to prepare for the procedure (I had to put eye drops in beforehand). The surgery center Dr. Feinerman used was in Tustin (Barranca Surgery Center). I had a very early appointment and I didn't have to wait too long. The procedure took what felt like 10 minutes, but could have been way longer (the anesthesia worked like a charm!). I had my sister drive me home, there is no way you should try to drive yourself home after getting this done!! Immediately after the surgery, my vision had a noticeable improvement, with sensitivity to light. Over the next 3 months, my vision stabilized and I don't have dry eyes as often anymore. Dr. Feinerman and his entire team were a pleasure to interact with. Totally recommend this place!!

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I came in specifically because I was feeling unwell and suspected a blood sugar issue--especially since lab work from a different clinic the prior week showed a fasting glucose level high enough to indicate diabetes. Despite explaining this, the Physician Assistant (PA) dismissed my concerns, told me I "didn't fit the profile" for diabetes, and ordered a thyroid panel instead. Three days later, the support staff called to tell me they lost my blood sample and needed me to come back in. When I expressed frustration that they lost my sample for a test I didn't even ask for--while still refusing to run the metabolic panel I actually needed--the staff member literally hung up on me. I only returned the next day because it is within walking distance of my house and I was having the same feeling again, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening. While the PA on duty that day was attentive, she ended up sending me to the ER for my blood pressure. After waiting four hours at the hospital, the ER doctor confirmed it wasn't an emergency at all. To top it all off, I received another call from the urgent care informing me that they did eventually run a metabolic panel, and my A1C and fasting glucose levels are, in fact, indicative of diabetes. Between the PA completely dismissing a patient's concerns, the staff losing blood samples, and being hung up on, the lack of professionalism and competence here is alarming. Go somewhere else.

So I reached out to Spectacle Optometry in Orange County, because I saw on their website that they carry or can order MODO frames. Spectacle came through! I was able to order my exact frame, in the exact color, directly from them. I gave them my prescription, and they asked me via email a few questions about lens preferences. This is another area where I wanted something very specific (surprise, surprise), and Spectacle was able to dial in my lenses to my exact specifications. When you wear glasses all the time like me, I feel that it's important to love your glasses. I absolutely love mine! Spectacle Optometry was wonderful to work with, especially considering that I couldn't visit them in person because I live more than 1,800 miles away. Before finding Vision Boutique Optometry, I hadn't gotten my eyes checked in a few years. I finally…read moretold myself I needed to go and, since we had recently moved to the area, I figured that this was the perfect opportunity to find a new optometrist. Setting up my appointment and setting up details like my vision insurance was relatively simple. The staff working the front desk are always super friendly and accommodating. I had a good feeling about them just talking on the phone to set up my first visit. Their location is tucked away amongst other shops and restaurants, so parking is very easy to find. Its a nice excuse to go shopping before and/or after my eye appointment for sure! Dr. Dao is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and does her job quickly. She takes the time to answer your questions and is so fun to talk to! After my appointment, the front desk helped me with next steps and said they would call me once my new contacts were ready. They're always very prompt so I don't need to worry about calling to check on my orders with them. I recommended Dr. Dao to my husband for his eye exams and we are planning to go to Vision Boutique for our future eye care needs!
