After suffering from an eye infection and in need of a medical eye exam I came across Wada Optometry searching online for an optometrist nearby. I literally just booked my appointment over the phone and didn't do any research about this business, nor did I look at any photos of this place. Why this building doesn't look anything special on the outside was I was surprised when I stepped into the building. You literally feel like you walked into a spaceship and none other than the Starship Enterprise! I was so blown away by how cool and futuristic this place was and on top how Dr Garret Wada was quick to see me and diagnosed right away with my issues. I was in and out in a jiffy and appreciated everyone's kindness and hospitality! 5 stars for knowledgeable and friendly staff and service! I'll be back! In the meantime, beam me up Scotty! read more

After my previous review, Dr. Wada contacted me via Yelp and suggested I come in regarding the issue. Anne patiently assisted me. We figured out that the previous frame that the reps ordered wasn't the frame that I chose, it looked similar, but the right frame was smaller, it's gold on the bottom, not silver. The top of the frame has more curve. Anne genuinely got the matter fixed, she was attentive and gentle, so that I didn't have to go through the same feeling from the previous experience. She was thoughtful. Although the bad experience did take place, it was time-consuming as well. But, it's important to make the effort to make it right. Kind of a late review. It's just a glamorized store to have an eye exam and buy glasses. If you have a medical problem or an emergency, like an infection, you will have to go somewhere else because appointments are more than a month out. I explained that I had an issue a while back and the young lady was like, sorry man. I've been seeing him for 10 years and it's not like it used to be. Star Trek is great and all, but neither Picard nor Kirk are able to diagnose or treat eye diseases on earth. Sorry to be critical but doctors are supposed to be doctors, not a trip to a shopping mall and flashy decor. read more

Drove over an hour to come here because of the Star Trek theme and that is definitely the draw. Very distinct feel and love that the owner has put so much into this. That said, I probably wont be back. None of the equipment was sanitized before my use. At other optometry places, they use alcohol wipes to wipe down the chin and forehead straps and other parts of the machines I interact with. Some of the chairs and tables in the exam rooms were very dusty. The facilities were not as sanitary as I'm accustomed to elsewhere. Also, the receptionist who handles my billing said they would email me copies of my exam results and photos soon after I left - it's been days and I've received nothing (checked spam folder and also nothing). read more

This place is amazing! I was sent a link to Dr. Wada's website by a fellow Trekkie and I KNEW I had to trek over to this place for my next eye exam (especially since I was overdue). It was even more amazing than I was expecting! You can really tell that a lot of care and love went into setting everything up--and Dr. Wada pointed out a few pieces that are genuine set pieces from Star Trek Voyager! Perhaps even more impressive was how kind and pleasant Dr. Wada was during my visit, seeming more than happy to talk Star Trek with me and even offered to take some photos of me around the office. I can't say I was ever sincerely EXCITED for a doctor's appointment before, but this was the first. I got new glasses in July 2020. my lenses are cloudy. I tried cleaning with ever possible cleaners available but it didn't make any difference. i called Dr. Wada's office to see if they can buff out and I was told it is not possible. She looked up my information and said it is out of warranty but she can call lab to see if they can do something. She called me back and said nothing can be done because it is out of warrant. i asked her if she can do something for me and she refused. This shows that they don't care about their customers. This is a decent optometrist, but the lab where they have the glasses assembled is terrible! I just picked up my newest pair of glasses, dedicated sunglasses, and half of the screws are mismatched and protrude beyond the screw hole or don't fit at all! I was forced to get dedicated sunglasses because my primary glasses, which are supposed to transition to dark lenses, don't get very dark. I am very disappointed with the quality of the work performed and with the poor results after taking my primary glasses back to have the transitional lenses redone. read more

Nice office and okay customer service, but poor quality workmanship. Received two pairs of glasses for $355. First pair was okay, but lens for second pair (reading only) the lens doesn't fit the frame I requested them for and there are chips and scratches where they tried to make them fit. Was contacted after my initial review, was instructed that this issue would be corrected. Dropped off my glasses to be repaired, when they were picked up the lens part still did not fit flush in the frames. If you can't get a professional result, be honest with the customer and stop wasting their time and money. read more

Fun environment, the optometrist there seems to care , ask questions, have you go through a few tests, but the helpers at the desk aren't very helpful at all. They don't call you when your glasses are ready and they lied to me about insurance I got this year . I owed for glasses last year (December) and came In to pay them following year (january) they told me I should not use my new year benefit so that I cam use them this year .. well we went to pick up my husband's glasses too and another woman told me I cannot do that so I wasted a year of vsp benefits in which I cannot use for glasses. I've been meaning to write a review for this place. 1 star for great customer service -1 star for sweet talking receptionist -1 star for eye exam -1 star for glasses -1 star repair Gone back three times but got sweet talk out of it. Paid $150 out of pocket on top of insurance for a piece of shit prescription sunglasses. Wore it for a week and came back to try to figure out why my eyes hurt when I put it on and can only wear it for an hour. I was told and sweet talk into thinking that it is sunglasses and it is a new prescription so it'll take time for my eyes to adjust. Bam one year later, still the same, my eyes still hurts. Went to a different place and they said it was adjusted way too high and did not account for my stigmatism on the left eyes. Moving on to the glasses. "please see attached images" I returned to this place two weeks later when I first got the glasses. One of the screw fell off so I came back to get it repair. It turns out my glasses is so old they don't even carry the same screw anymore, so they gave me a temporary that barely fit. I have to tighten it everytime I wear it. I returned a third time to see if they had place an order for a replacement screw...nothing. For those who are wow and given five star to this place for the interior Please check your eyes again to see if they did in fact give you the right prescription. Some of you just don't care and it'll effect you down the line. Oh yeah. The place is dark as hell inside so you obviously will get fool from the bad eye exams. I should of just stick to Vietnam glasses. $150 can get me three pairs. I can't believe these costed so much here. read more

I'm a big Star Trek fan so naturally I had to check this place out. I have a very complicated order when it comes to my glasses. A very high prescription that has been extremely difficult to get right. I scheduled an appointment and thought at the very least, I'll see a cool doctor's office. I selected the frames and gave my prescription. The first pair they gave me was not much better than what I had been given before. Lenses just weren't right, but thinner than others so going in the right direction. I talked to Dr. Wada and his staff, which were all so kind and helpful to deal with my special eyes. After a few more weeks, I went to pick up the second pair, not expecting anything better. To my utter surprise and shock, they were able to get my prescription correct in a lens that wasn't too thick. I just can't thank them enough for being able to accomplish what many others failed at.
