I'm shocked how unprofessional the receptionist was. Young lady, over the phone. First, she didn't want to book my family members at the same time because because it "blocked off the doctor's entire morning." And what if we canceled, she asked me. I've never heard this excuse before from an office and I told her I don't cancel last minute. Second, I asked her to check insurance to verify if my kids receive any benefits for sunglasses, as we had gotten them previously at another highly rated optometrist office. She accused the other office of doing something illegal, which I highly doubted and I let her know this. After this, she hung up. I immediately called back. I've worked with many doctor's offices throughout my life. I won't let a rude receptionist stop me from seeing a quality doctor (I will update my review after seeing Dr Yu). The same lady answered and continued taking our information. Then she said their policy is to call insurance 2 days prior to the appointment to verify coverage and if something isn't right, they'd notify me. 2 days? Also something I've never experienced booking at other offices. The best ones will often call the day I make the appointment, and get back to me so I know my benefits going in. These are the red flags I experienced with the front office. In the meantime I'll be deciding whether seeing Dr Yu is worth the hassle. read more

8'months ago I spent over $500 on a pair of glasses. I take care of them no scratches but the lens got blurred because of defective coating for subscription. I tried to take to the store but they told me they can't help. Even thought it's a defective lens because I did not get the warranty. I should not have a warranty issue if the lens are defective. I need help on this resolution. No one will help me. They told me they can not help even though the lens are blurry and defective. They said the sun might have damaged them. But they are sun glasses. I'd been coming here for years because I liked Dr Yu. The front staff has always been condescending and difficult to deal with but I figured a good Dr and getting a good exam is what's important. When I arrived today at 2:30 for my 2:30 appointment, the associates were out of sight, talking loudly amongst themselves in a side office. The entire room reeked of food. Like so overwhelming you could smell it long before you got to the optical center. When one of the staff noticed me she asked me if I had an appointment while chewing on her food. Even Dr Yu projected an attitude of annoyance when she acknowledged me, I'm guessing because I interrupted their conversation. The entire staff treated me like I was asking for something stupid, when all I wanted was to verify and update the prescriptions that had been given me at my annual appointment 2 weeks ago, which appeared incorrect. When I called after the appointment for assistance (regarding a change to my prescription Dr Yu brought up then stated she had no idea what I was talking about when I called) I was spoken to like I was a joke. They might as well have said straight up we don't want your business or your money. Message received. Everyone in this office is far too comfortable and complacent and seems to have forgotten this is a medical practice. The level of unprofessionalism is appalling. How about making the patient feel confident that they received appropriate health care instead of making them feel foolish for having questions. As a retail manager I can tell you this type of customer service wouldn't be tolerated in my store. Do better. read more

This used to be my go to Location for eye appointments/glasses and contacts but the staff has changed and the communication now is horrible. Over a month and I still have no contacts. Dr. Yu is thoroughness and empathy personified, and as a parent, I absolutely appreciated her attention to detail and ability to calm the nerves of my daughter. She and her assistants put you completely at ease, and were extremely patient in helping her get acquainted with her new contact lens. We came for contacts, and ended up with a complete eye exam that left us feeling confident and knowing that my daughter's eyes were completely healthy. Can't recommend Dr. Yu enough. While going to the eye doctor is never high on the things I want to do, the staff makes the appointment/booking process super easy, and they're great with follow up to ensure you know your schedule time is coming up. I need those reminders. The office has the latest and greatest equipment making the process a breeze. A huge plus: they're not pushy on making you buy something afterwards, however, if you're in the market for new glasses or sunnies, they'll make sure you're getting the best deal and maximizing your yearly allowances to ensure you're getting what you really want. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Yu for 3 years (2018-2020). We moved a bit farther from her clinic and the pandemic hit and tried another optometrist. This year we went back to Dr. Yu. I was thrilled to see her once more. She remembered us and greeted us warmly. As usual she took the time to thoroughly examine our eyes. She even remembered how far I held my book when reading. She greets you with a smile. Truly loves what she does and in helping her patients see better. I will travel the extra miles to go and have her examine us. Georgette was also very helpful in the selection of frames, lenses and measuring the glasses. She was patient and very informative and pleasant. Awesome place. Highly recommended. Scheduled appointments for my son and myself. After paperwork, they started our pre-appointment testing. When they completed my son's, I asked where the doctor was and was told he probably went to the bathroom. After my pre-appointment testing, I asked again. There must have been a scheduling issue, but the two women working were too busy complaining to each other to even notice the doctor wasn't there. They had no way to get a hold of the doctor and didn't really communicate what may have gone wrong. After nearly an hour in total, we went home. read more

She is patient, professional, and really good with talking to the kids about doing their exams, and also great with explaining to me what is going on with their vision. Also, her staff have always been friendly and helpful. One of her staff members took the time to teach my son how to put on contacts. She was so patient, even though my son was hesistant. My 6yr old got her first eye exam, she still confuses some of her letters but did great with the help and patience Dr.Yu had with her. She tried a different approach to get her an accurate prescription and I was very pleased with her. Recently got new contacts and glasses here and everything was great! They have their own sales and deals, plus I got the Target 5% off with my credit card! Staff is friendly, helpful, and patient with people like me who are indecisive, especially when picking out new frames. They have a good amount of frame styles to choose from. I have had my eyes examined before. I have worn prescription glasses before. Never have I received such a thorough examination as the one given to me by Dr. Yanna Yu. The equipment that Dr. Yu uses is state of the art, which enables her to be so thorough. She also addressed different things about my eyes and vision that have never been addressed before, although, these same issues have been present since my childhood. I appreciated her attention to detail during my examination and the way she took the time to answer all of my questions. Dr. Yu's attention towards me in general, showed me that she sincerely cares about my overall eye health. The entire staff was also attentive in answering all of my questions and giving details on all options that I qualified for with my insurance and being a AAA member. The selection of frames is the best I've seen. So many quality options. As long as I live in the area, I will never go to another Optometrist. First of all, either they are a lying or don't know about classes. Second, their customer service is really bad if something goes wrong. We returned a sunglasses because the darkness of the lenses were totally different than We ordered based on their explanation. After we returned it, we had a problem with our insurance because the reversing claim on our returned purchase didn't go through well. So I contacted Target asked them when they reversed the claim to our insurance company. However they kept saying that they did everything what they had to do. I asked the same exact question more than 10 times. But they totally ignored my question and answered same thing over and over like answering machine. Especially if you have VSP, do not go Target, they are out of network provider. They can not help you anything if anything goes wrong. read more
