This place is PURE TRASH! I introduced my client to this location to pick up the eyewear she purchased through Nordstrom. She spent thousands of dollars on Celine frames, and Lens Crafters broke them. It took them an entire year to finally send her a check to reimburse her for the damaged frames. My client comes to LA every year to shop with me. I noticed she wasn't wearing the eyewear we purchased last year and was back to wearing her old frames, so I asked her what happened. She told me how poorly LensCrafters, specifically this location, treated her. I was extremely upset because my client is very sweet and doesn't like confrontation. I truly feel they took advantage of her. I went into the store today and explained the situation to the manager, Jacob. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make him the manager needs to reevaluate that decision. He was beyond unprofessional. I asked what kind of discount or even a gift card he could offer to help remedy the situation since my client is back in town and still needs glasses. Instead, he responded in a very condescending manner, with a smirk on his face, and basically told me to file a report online. He has ZERO customer service skills and should not be managing a business that depends on customer satisfaction. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I REPEAT, DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Great experience here trying out and ultimately buying a pair of RayBan Meta glasses! This LensCrafters gets a good amount of traffic, but has good staff ready to help. Rafa greeted me and helped me try out the different frames and lens options. He was also kind enough to run to the Macy's LC location to grab frames they didn't have that I wanted to try on. He was very patient with my indecisive self! Rafa had to go on break and Tiffany took over. She was very kind and knowledgeable. She made sure I understood my options, and helped me secure a good pair of glasses. Overall, the experience was excellent and I'm glad I decided to go there to get my Meta glasses. I ordered two pair of glasses from LensCrafters paid them in full and when I went to pick up the glasses, there was another add charge I should've been warned about the ad charge when I first purchased the glasses. I brought one pair in of Ray-Ban's and I bought a second pair of Ray-Ban's for half off and then they added another charge onto the glasses. I paid $891 for two pair of glasses and then she wanted to add another $200 for repairs and then when I asked for the money back she charged me $81 for restocking fee because I wasn't happy on paying the extra money for the ad on fee the first salesman his name was Steven and he was very helpful and everything he was doing but the sales person named Brittany she wanted to add more charges onto my glasses because I paid them in full. Versace, Prada, Gucci, etc. They do have Ray Bands and Oakley for more outdoorsy and affordable brands, but even with my insurance and 50% off 2nd frame and picking the cheapest frames I could find (Coach and Ralph Lauren), my cost was still nearly $1,000.. if price isn't an issue and you want the designer brands, this would be a good place. read more

I haven't had my eyes checked in over 3 years, but decided to come here last minute about 2-3 weeks ago before my vision insurance was due for renewal just so I could make use of my covered yearly eye exam, lol. I was able to book an appointment very easily through my insurance with Dr. Murakami. I scheduled my appointment for a weekday, so it wasn't very busy. Upon arrival, the staff were very nice. I was checked in for my appointment & was told to browse around as I waited to be called in. While waiting, the staff gave me a thorough explanation of my insurance coverage. I was only there for an eye exam, so I didn't purchase any frames, but while browsing, I noticed they had a lot of high-end brands, so I'm sure it would've been on the pricier side if I were to purchase frames from them even with my vision plan, lol. Can't complain though because my job probably offers the most basic vision plan, lol. Aside from that, I had a pleasant experience with Dr. Murakami. She was very nice & welcoming. I've been receiving services from this Lenscrafter since 2020 and have never had a bad experience. I have gone to the upstairs location in Macy's and will probably stay at their main site downstairs. I love Dr.Murakami! She is knowledgeable, friendly, and makes you feel good about your eye exam. She answered all of my questions and my eyes felt very safe in her hands. Also a huge shoutout to Marc and Jaz, they were incredibly helpful and accommodating and I really felt like they cared about my experience. I wasn't planning to walk out with a new pair of glasses, but their insight made me confident to buy a new set. I went to LensCrafters in santa anita mall to get a new glasses, I paid for an eye exam $98 since my last glasses was 5 years old, the doctor gave me the new prescription and I got her new glasses $775, after picking up her glasses I couldn't see clearly my computer or my phone, so she went back the following Saturday to the store and reexamined with the eye doctor who end up used my old prescription, and the store redid the new glasses with the old prescription. I called the store and asked for a refund for the eye exam $98, because I didn't get a new prescription. if I knew the new glasses would use the previous prescription, I wouldn't have paid for an exam. The store refused, and I disputed with the credit card company, but the credit card company also refused refund, said the merchant delivered the service. I will need to write a formal demand refund letter to the corporate store and consumer protection agency. I didn't get what I paid for. read more

I stopped by the mall today and passed by LensCrafters, so I figured I'd get the screws on my sunglasses tightened, something that usually takes just a few minutes. I've been going to the Monrovia location for over 15 years, and they've always handled this quickly and professionally. But here, I was told I had to wait 1 to 2 hours for a simple adjustment. Honestly, I would've respected it more if the employee had just said he didn't want to help or at least handed me the screwdriver to do it myself. Disappointing service. Their website, Google and Yelp all state a certain time when they close, but that's not true. One time I came a little after 7, websites all day 8, but they were already closed. Looked around the shop for the frames and realized it's all branded ones which doesn't really fit me due to pricing and my job. Somehow they were able to tell, and brought me to the "affordable" section, which we ended up getting my glasses at the end. Took about 1 weeks to pick up. Rude people work here and it's a shame. This is Arcadia. The standards should be much higher. I can't say I have the best experience with LensCrafter. I wanted to give them a chance again this year despite the disappointing visit last year at the LA location. Nothing has changed. If I can give them 0 stars, I would. Our eye exam started off with them trying to add a bunch of different packages that were not covered by insurance. When asking what the copay was, different associates gave us different answers. Another one even said that my girlfriend's dual insurance won't work. She didn't even try checking her eligibility for both insurances. They are lazy and deceptive when it comes to being transparent. The doctors who work there were amazing. The sales associates are like snakes. One of them added on all this extra "incident" protection warranty on both pairs of glasses without ever telling me the price. All she ever told me were the frame prices after insurance coverage and not the grand total amount. When I asked her if the price was for both pairs, she said yes. When I went to the register, the price almost doubled because of all the fancy stuff she added on. When I decided to do an initial return, she gave me short answers with attitude and brushed me off. She basically said I can't cancel or return my order until the item arrives in 2 weeks since the order was put in already. Yeah, I'm talking about Ashlee the pushy sales person that loves to leave out important details. I took care of the cancellation with someone else the next day. It was easy and simple. Just don't go to Ashlee if you want things to be done right. It's not worth the hours of dramatic headaches she puts you through. Don't bring your loved ones here unless you want to see them treated like a money dispenser. There are many better optometry offices you can go to. read more

I do not recommend this place, they are not honest with clients. I work in the medical field and we always go over fees with patients, there's a such thing as a "good faith estimate". When calling to make an appointment they gave me run around with my insurance could not tell me if they took it or not they said they would run it before my appt to let me know I rescheduled a couple times and still nothing. Finally we came in, and as they proceeded to get my daughter ready for an eye exam I asked about what was covered they said they would check and proceeded (yes I should of stopped them then and there) I moved a lot of things around so I felt we were there already. At the end of the day I was charged over $150 for an annual eye exam and screening for contact lenses. I could not pull up my benefits app for some reason it wasn't working that day but my co pay was around $10 and lenses I needed to look up (so I couldn't ) after seeing my app today shows my daughter was seen by out of network doctor. Guys please go else where. I've been to the spot in Macy's (same mall) and they were so attentive and showed me how much everything cost on the tablet step by step. They would also collect my daughter's glasses during her exam and tightened the screws and cleaned them. Now that's care. Sorry it was a very long review but I encourage everyone to do there due diligence and if you are not getting information straight away then walk away. This is how they take your money. Shop around even if that's the only day you have off, we are not in time for those expenses specially if you are insured. I have spent thousands of dollars (after insurance) here oven the past 2-3 years. With eye exams and 2 pairs of high index glasses every year. Christina and Dr. Murakami have been great. Today, called to schedule an emergency visit and however answered the call acted like I couldn't afford the $65 visit!? She literally spent so much time going around "it could be $65 or MORE!" I don't care. I was trying to schedule schedule and emergency visit! This to me shows that this is truly a retail store and the customer service is at that level. CAUTION! I came in for an eye exam (which was great! The Optometrist was awesome- I think her name was Lillian.) However, their aggressive up-sale tactics are extremely deceiving. The sales lady who helped me, made false promises. I was not completely convinced on the purchase of frames but once she told me I could purchase them and if still unsure about my purchase, I could exchange them without a hassle as long as I didn't remove the lags. WOW - was that a lie. The Manager rudely pointed out the 30 day exchange policy printed on the receipt - which I completely understand if I had used them but these had the tags and all. I came with another person for contact lens fitting and the person working there assigned with the fitting was someone called Brandon. This Brandon spewed abrasive judgment about all kinds of things he had no idea about, hiding behind an appalling self-righteous indignation. In half an hour, he managed to insult both of us on everything from me as a person to the process it took the person I came with to put in contacts for the first time. Quoted 2 weeks for glasses to be done. Still waiting and it's been 4 weeks. Super dissatisfied. I called at week 3 and they didn't even start on my glasses. One of the employees had to call the lab and said it would be done by this week. Tuesday 2/14 was told it is being shipped. Today was told it is "ready for shipping." I work mainly on a computer and really was relying on them to arrive on time. Being without a good pair of glasses is really affecting my job. I usually wouldn't mind being late a bit but 2 weeks over without a definite time of when it will arrive is just upsetting to say the least. Especially since this involves eyesight. Dr. Chiou and Dr. Murakami are so courteous, knowledgeable, and professional and make an anxious patient feel at ease with how they take their time explaining things so thoroughly! The staff at LensCrafters (Jose, Ashley, Kaitlin & Malika) were also very pleasant, efficient, helpful and warm with how graciously they welcome a customer from when they first enter all the way until they leave after the exam and purchase. (While I did not get a chance to interact with any of the other staff, I also observed them being very polite and professional to the customers they were serving). The worst service ever experienced. Paid cash in full for my glasses and wanted to return it. The manager who is an idiot made me wait for the other manager for the return. Everything went pretty good from exam to the doctor, Could been better if I had my eye dilated! Everything went pretty smooth till I came back to see if they can check my PD, this female manager Ashley was still here, she told me "I am sorry we can't check your PD unless you buy glasses from us." We didn't have prescription thst was current and at first we were turned away. But this amazing woman named Christine gave us a chance to get glasses and help us recommend a place to get a prescription where they would help my dad who was mute. What an absolutely wonderful person who was super caring and understanding. Maybe because she was from Tennessee. But everyone else followed her lead. They wanted to help.
