My daughter's nearsighted makes me very worried. I took her to Golden Envision Optometry to stop them increasing too fast. She started to use Ortho-K, it's a night time hard eye contact lenses for maintaining and improving the vision. She did pretty well and right now she changed to daily disposable soft contact lenses since she was high school. It's more convenient and helps her at least keep her nearsightedness under check. My family's been coming here for years. Even now when I moved out of LA, I still come back here for my annual eye exams. They're very thorough and their optometrists are very nice and answers all our questions and gives us great recommendations to our eyes healthy. They're also very transparent about pricing when we pick glasses and will let us know how much out of pocket we would have to pay if we added certain features or picked a nicer frame. They also have an extra exam where they take pictures of your eyes and they let you know there's an extra fee if you would like to do that test. Dr. Truong helped us on our most recent visit and she was very thorough. We usually try not to pick frames over what insurance covers and they have a great selection here. They have mandarin and Cantonese speaking staff here. This is in a plaza full of restaurants and bakeries with plenty of parking. read more

I have come here for the last few years, and each time the service seems to have deteriorated. The doctor I used to see is no longer here. Instead, I get a plumpy intern optometrist who is frankly not very competent, as expected, but worse, she is curt and impatient. While switching out one lense for another to determine your vision, she hems and hews if you ask to see one lense again. I have never had this experience with any optometrist, because they want to get this right. This one seems just to want you to leave so she can go back to her phone. After a few more frustrating back and forths, I go to choose my glasses, and find that their extremely limited selection do not have any glasses I want. They said to take my prescription and go to the San Gabriel office where they have a larger selection. The service was horrifying. I will never return to this office again. read more

Do not come here for ortho-K. I cannot speak for the optometrist because I had a horrible experience with the receptionist. This office only cares about money. I have been in an existing program for many years and wanted to transition to a new provider in the area. I called to ask for a consultation and the receptionist was extremely unhelpful. She insisted that I would have to start over as a new patient and refit my lenses for $1500. I have seen optometrists in other cities who had no issues evaluating me in my existing program but this office provided me with a list of reasons to justify their pricing. I was surprised at how quickly the receptionist tried to enroll me in a new program without even asking me about my history, needs, or verifying my existing provider. What should have been a simple phone call quickly escalated into an argument because the receptionist kept giving me the run-around and coming up with new excuses. The final straw was when she asked me for my insurance information because I must schedule an eye exam in order to receive a consultation read more

She answered all my questions patiently and the exam was a good experience. Tiffany at the front desk is also very kind and knowledgeable. Once I confirmed, I was looking for the Arcadia location, the person who picked up was incredibly rude regarding scheduling. We were super hesitant on trying Ortho K for our 3 kids but it's been such a life changer. At first we struggled to even put the lens in for our kids but the office staff were not only patient and kind, they made the kids feel super comfortable to try. Dr. Tijo and Dr. Leung were energetic and patient with the kids which made it easier. All three kids are active in taekwando, soccer, ballet, dance and basketball. I agree with reviews on the office staff and illegal billing practices. They are not transparent on their charges and always tried to disregard my concerns about all the charges that was filed to my insurance. Even when they collect more than needed because the insurance covers more than anticipated, they drag their feet on reimbursement.
