I can't believe it's been a year since I started my Radiofrequency treatments at Clarity Advanced Optometry. I used to suffer from severe dry eye and was using rewetting eye drops multiple times a day. My primary optometrist, Dr. Mikaelian, diagnosed me with meibomian gland dysfunction and referred me for a series of dry eye treatments with Dr. Chiou. I met with Dr. Chiou in her Arcadia office. She was so sweet and walked me through my diagnosis and treatment process during the consultation. Dr. Chiou did some tests and took special pictures of my meibomian glands--the glands under my eyelids that produce tears. It turns out that my case is pretty severe and my eyes have stopped making the necessary tears to keep themselves lubricated. We planned out treatment and supplemental accessories. At Dr. Chiou's office, the set up is spa-like and the heat treatment is very comfortable. At all times, Dr Chiou made sure I felt at ease. Each treatment took about 30-40 minutes. Dr. Chiou also gently expressed my glands following each RF treatment. I did a total of 5 RF and the last treatment was in February. It has been 8 months and my eyes are still comfortably lubricated by my own tears (no more eye drops!). I am returning next month for more treatment as I have enjoyed the improvement to my eye health and am impressed by how passionate this team is about my eyes. Dr. Chiou and Dr. Murakami are so courteous, knowledgeable, and professional and make an anxious patient feel at ease with how they take their time explaining things so thoroughly! The staff at LensCrafters (Jose, Ashley, Kaitlin & Malika) were also very pleasant, efficient, helpful and warm with how graciously they welcome a customer from when they first enter all the way until they leave after the exam and purchase. (While I did not get a chance to interact with any of the other staff, I also observed them being very polite and professional to the customers they were serving). Dr. Murakami has been our family's optometrist for many years. We are so glad to have been under her care all these years. She is professional, patient and efficient. 3 of my children including me is a hectic experience at time of scheduling appointments. Dr Murakami keeps track of my appointments and send me email reminders, and I really appreciate that. Few years ago, she introduced my children to Multi-Focal contact lens because their eyes' prescription was increasing rapidly. After using that for a year, their eyes prescription stabilized, and it's a sign of relief for all of us. Dr. Murakami is a doctor that cares for you, and that matters the most. read more

I have seen Dr. Lillian Nghe for a couple years now and she is great! The first time I saw her I thought how nice it was that she ended up making an eye exam appointment fun and light hearted. The second time I saw her I was having problems with a contact lens and thought for sure that I got it out, but she was super thorough with her exam, did an eye stain and irrigation and then discovered that I had a half of a ripped contact lens still in my eye! I was honestly so thankful. Thank you Dr. Nghe for taking the time to do such a comprehensive evaluation of my issue. She is so nice and explains thing very well and in detail so I can have good understanding of my eyesight. There are tons of glass frames to choose as well with all kinds of brands. Great doctors and the best exams my family has ever had! They were all very knowledgeable and explained everything to me through each step.

Dr. Lillian Nghe was passive aggressive, unkind, and unprofessional with me. When I told her I was also in school to obtain a high degree she was more interested in finding out what school and asked me offensive questions to figure out how elite my school is, than she was in answering my questions about my eyes. While I discussed my eyes with her and my options she had an attitude and no patience. A lot of doctors can behave very egotistically, rude, and unprofessional which was my experience with Dr. Nghe. I would never return to her for anything. My time with her felt strange with the questions about the status of my school, and also she quickly switched from being jovial/friendly to passive aggressive and rude. Overall I felt very uncomfortable. Most importantly I was not able to discuss all eye concerns I had and all possible contact lens options with her because she was mean and passive aggressive in an effort to shut down my questions and not waste her time. Overall, I did not get good care at Clarity Advanced Optometry and was treated disrespectfully, poorly and like I had no value. There's lots of optometrists in Los Angeles, go to someone else. read more

Dr. Murakami is an excellent optometrist and I highly recommend. I am a physician myself and previous to my recent visit I was under the assumption that I had relatively normal eyes. Dr. Murakami diagnosed an eye disease that I will need surgery for that other optometrist did not pick up. Extremely grateful for her attention to detail and insight. Office staff is very friendly and helpful. LensCrafter has the most advanced technology for the vision exam. Hanah performs the eyes exam very professional. She used the OPD, NCT, peripheral vision field and finally she used the Opto Map to conclude my vision exam. Dr. Lillian Nghe is very precise and knowledgeable to review my test results. I've seen many optometrists, but Dr. Lillian Nghe is one of two optometrists I've seen more than once. Why? It's because she provides a remarkable eye exam experience. Her eye exam is not a mechanical routine like with most other optometrists. She is very thorough and she wants you to come out of her exam room with the best prescription for you. I like that she spends the extra time making all the necessary adjustments and asking the questions to ensure that I have what I need. Plus, she's very approachable in a way that you want to crack jokes with her. If all medical appointments were like a visit with Dr. Nghe, I would never put off going to see a doctor again. I made a mistake by getting an insurance plan that Clarity Advanced Optometry didn't accept last year. Never again. If you want a great eye exam experience, I highly recommend Dr. Nghe. read more

I've had an eye exam by Dr. Chiou and Dr. Nghe and they're both extremely thorough and patient. Always answer any questions I may have. Great bedside manner! Recently I had been thinking about trying contacts, but I hadn't had an eye exam in years. The last pair of glasses I have came from the Lenscrafters in this same location, and I was pleased with the prior experience, so I decided to come back. As my last eye exam was so long ago, I knew I would need to go through the whole process. I was expecting to have to get my eyes dilated, and was pleased to find out that this is no longer necessary. All of the tests were relatively comfortable and easy to sit through. Dr. Nghe was amazing. She was very thorough in discussing what she saw in the scans, and was very helpful in making a decision. I didn't even freak out when she touched my eyeball, which sounds like it would be terrible, but really was fine. She made the perfect first choice on lens brand. I honestly couldn't even feel the lens when she put it in. 10/10 would let her put touch my eyeballs again. If you're a first time contacts user, they have you go through a training before they send you off with your trial sets of lenses. You'll need to demonstrate that you can successfully get the things in and out of your eyes a couple of times. This part was a little frustrating, but because I was a bit awful at it. The staff was very patient, and after 20 minutes or so I started to get the hang of it. Ultimately, I am very happy with the whole experience, and I love my new contacts. read more
