I came here for my routine eye exam and to make the move to contact lenses. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgable. They were also always on time, which is a nice change. I never had to wait more that 2 or 3 minutes for my appointment or the doctor. It was great. I also really appreciated how patient they were with me and the contact lens training--I was absolutely awful for several sessions!! They gave me several samples to take home to try and they only ordered me a set when they thought it was the right fit. If you're looking to get an eye exam or contact lenses, I recommend them hands down. They also have a great selection of frames and they were very helpful with all the patients that came in, especially kids. Prices were reasonable, too. I have been a regular patient at Vision Quest for a for over 15 years and have always had professional and expert care by Dr. Kim and optical care coordinators John and Robert. Your always greeted with respect whether it's for a yearly exam or for something unexpected. Two weeks after receiving my new glasses, I had a problem with them staying on my face and even falling on the ground. I took them back to John, who examined the frame and determined it was the design of the frame, particularly the temples. He assured me that he could fix the problem. In about a week, I got a call from John; he completely overhauled the frame and glass without charge! My glasses now sit square on my face and don't move. $1250.00 I thought this was a good place and have been coming here for ten years but I just foolishly paid $1250, $1250, $1250 ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS for some designer glasses and i feel like I am probably a sucker. Igot top of the line specs for progression and clarity and some other things but this just seems outrageous. I had been having trouble with my old glasses and could not see out of them very well and so I was getting concerned and nervous that I had better get top of the line new glasses but this was kind of stupid of me I think. New insurance through work! I choose this place because it was in-network and seemed to have quite a few positive Yelp reviews, they were not wrong. Thank you fellow Yelpers, for pulling through Dr. Kim and staff was great. Since it was my first time visiting this place I had retinal imaging done for free. A fantastic service; the pictures were really big and clear, if there are any issues the doctor will go over them with you. I went down a line of several high tech machines in a room, that measure things such as peripheral vision and the pressure inside your eye. My exam was very complete and didn't cause much anxiety since staff explained what each did before administering each test. Contact lens exam and fitting was similar in quality, I got to try on a trial pair and take them home for a couple weeks to see how they work out. This office offers rebates for certain brands so check with them or online to see if your brand is covered. Entire office staff was helpful, since I'm such a needy and indecisive customer they all chipped in time to help me decide on a frame for glasses that looked really cool. I never felt rushed or even the slightest bit of impatience during the whole process. Genuinely nice team, A-plus service! Bonus: Their office hours are the best compared to other optometrists, even open on Saturdays. read more

I went to this office for an eye exam and to purchase contact lenses only. What they do well? The exam. They did a great job with the exam (and why it's getting 2 stars instead of 1). Dr Kim was easy to work with and did what she could to make sure I had the right contacts for me. What they did not do well? They misrepresented what my insurance would cover by telling me I could get glasses in addition to my lenses. They unethically and immorally did an up-sell of glasses to me then 2 weeks later when my contacts were ready they tried to charge me full price for the contacts (later I spoke to my insurance who said they should have at least been giving me 20% off per my policy - they never even offered that). The gentlemen at reception (his name is John) was rude, blamed me the customer, took zero accountability to the situation, and simply unhelpful. He is the reason I am writing a 2 star review, and he is the reason I will not be back. My insurance company is allowing me to swap the glasses for contacts under coverage as long as Vision Quest would allow me to return the glasses to them. Vision Quest agreed they would do that as long as insurance says it is okay. As I'm writing this, I'm waiting on Vision Quest to get back to me regarding making this change a reality however I should have never had to go through this in the first place. Yes, I should know my insurance - an insurance that is brand new to me (I only had it a few weeks when going in for my exam), which I explained to them, and they showed me a piece of paper that said I had insurance for both - they just withheld that I had to choose one or the other. They represented that I could do both, have both covered under insurance. So - I learned a lesson here but hope you all be very careful when working with this business. Pay close attention to what your insurance will cover and won't cover - don't pay for anything until you've verified everything! Once I get this swap finalized, I will not be going back to Vision Quest. read more

We were desperate in trying to find a quick solution to getting a new pair of glasses as our old frame is damaged but the lens is still good. Unlike all other places we called, trying to get us to go in and start from ground 0 (exam, frame, lens) not to mention the wait time of days... I started a new job this year, which meant new insurance, and trying to find new medical providers. Finding an eye doctor proved to be a challenge. Many of the Doctors who advertise are not accepting new patients (why advertise then?). Most offices had automated phone systems which seem to be geared toward established patients. Others did not return my calls. In my frustration, I walked in to Vision Quest cold at 5:30pm on a Wednesday. The man behind the counter said they are accepting new patients and would be happy to provide an exam. The first available appointment was in two days, at 5:30pm, exactly 48 hours from when I walked in. On appointment day, there was no wait. The patient ahead of me was just finishing up. I was seen immediately. I was given a thorough exam. I was told I was in the early stages of cataracts. I don't need surgery right away. They will monitor my eyes until such time surgery is necessary. The Optician showed me the variety of lenses and frames covered by my insurance. I placed the order. The glasses were ready in one week. The Optician made the necessary adjustments for fit, and I was ready. I also needed my sunglasses to have the same scrip. The Optician told me to hold off until the new year, when my insurance recycles, and I can save about $300.00 on those lenses. I will wait a couple weeks. Vision Quest was available, honest, thorough, fair, and less than a mile from home, I will keep them as providers ofmy eye Care. I recommend Vision Quest to anybody looking for eye care. read more

I recently went to Vision Quest to get glasses. It was a task I had been putting off for quite a while because I always dread the process. Their entire staff made this task a wonderful experience. I was helped by Robert who took such time with me in helping to pick the right frame. He was very skilled at his craft and picked a number of frames he thought would be suitable Based on my needs. It's always a hard decision for me to choose the right frame and he made the process effortless and so pleasant. When picking up my glasses I was helped by Sandra who was thorough in making sure my glasses fit right and that the prescription was correct. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Mixed feelings about this place. I have never used VSP vision before and got it through my employer. I wear glasses on occasion and wear a pretty light prescription. I finally decided to get a new pair since I get $135 off each year with my insurance, which also covers the exam. Making an appointment was easy because there were so many time slots and days available. Dr. Kim was super nice and extremely helpful. She went out of her way to help me choose frames that I would like. What I didn't like about this place was the staff. They seemed young and inexperienced. While in the waiting room, they were awfully chatty with each other at the front desk. I understand having a lax work environment, but also keep a professional appearance. I given a pick up date of 7-10 business days. On the 10th day, I get a call telling me that the person adjusting my frames messed up and that they would have to order a new pair from the manufacturer. They told me that the pair I had chosen was on back order and would not be available to ship until the 25th (today was the 6th). I was obviously very frustrated. The staff was apologetic, but offered nothing to help alleviate the situation except inform me that I could come in to pick out a different pair if I didn't want to wait. Working in customer service, I understand the importance of making sure the customer feels like they've gotten something back for a delay that they were not at fault for. I would've at least assured that I would try to expedite the order or offer some kind of incentive like 5% off my next frames purchase. I chose to wait for the frames to be back in stock, because I spent forever picking ones that fit my round face and flat nose. In the end, they were ready for pick up 10 days early, but I didn't find out til the day they were done. I am not sure if they expedited the request or what. I can only assume that the manufacturer found some frames in stock and sent them out earlier than expected. I won't need glasses for another 1-3 years, so I don't know if I would come back here. read more

Zero stars. I have never been here before and I was really hoping to like this place because it had great reviews but unfortunately it was a bad experience from the start. I had an appointment today at 2:30p and I got there at 2:20p. I walked up to the door and it was locked. So I called the number on the door and it said they are on lunch from 1:30 to 2:30p. It would have been nice if there was a sign at the door stating they were on lunch so customers didn't have to call the number to find out. I waited patiently... 2:30 comes along and still no one and the door is still locked... 2:35 same thing. At 2:40 I decided I've already wasted my time and would rather not do business with this place. Hope you guys have a better experience if you do decide to give this place a chance. read more

We visited Vision Quest today for a followup exam and retinal imaging. They have a special scanner that produces high quality scans of your retina, which was important to us. My cousin who is an optometrist helped us find practices that had a high quality machine and this was one of them. The doctor (who I assume is Dr. Yamashiro), was fantastic. She was the most knowledgeable and caring optometrist we have ever visited. She seemed very passionate about helping us and spent a lot of time explaining things to us. So they discounted 30 dollars wtf and when I asked to see the same exact pair to see the difference they said they didn't have. To too off I paid with cash and they have mailed me a check... After having 2 sets of lenses made for two of my own separate frame, and never had anyone advise me of any issues regarding what their policy was or even written on the receipt after I paid form for them to be prepared. Now I'm received a notice on my third set of lenses being put on one of my frames that the frame broke at the place were the lenses were being created for me, and that they are not responsible for the Frames yet my frames were not broken when I gave them to him to have them prepared. Over $800 of business on the two they did for me which is identical to what I was being asked for them to do on this frame they tell me know that they're going to give me a discount on a new frame again my frame was not broken. It was in perfectly good condition. They broke it and now they're telling me that I am responsible but they will give me a discount on a new frame, if you're going to do business with people and I'm a businessman, do you have to back up the work that you do if you can't do that you shouldn't be in business I don't even give this company a rating anymore before it was a different story as long as everything was kosher but now I can't believe after me demonstrating the kind of customer I am by bringing back, returned business that they give me this kind of response based on their error and not mine I wouldn't do business with these people again if I was paid, , poor, poor, poor customer relationship. the manager Robert, who seems like a nice guy, obviously states that he's under the control of the owner of Mr. SHUNHUNNA whatever that name is or who it relates to the responsible party for this decision that has been made on my purchase Be careful how you do business with his people. read more

After reading up on a few Optometrists in my area and looking at reviews here I settled on Vision Quest for my checkup and new glasses. While I wish I could rave the way others have, I just can't. Lets start with the positive. The doctor who saw me was very good and thorough. I wasn't rushed and she took the time to find out about my family history and made some recommendations that I was grateful for. Lets move on to the mediocre. The person who did the initial pressure test, field test, and retinal scan seemed a bit out of it (no focus, couldn't get his act together, seemed high if you ask me) but I chalked that up to him probably being new. The person who helped me with the frames... Well I would like to say he helped me with the frames but until it came time to tally up the bill he really didn't seem to give a damn one way or another what I was doing. Now to the bad. Which ever lab they sent my prescription to were constantly on the stall. Constantly had a different excuse as to why my glasses weren't ready and it took two weeks for me to get my glasses which are a single vision set to mainly correct astigmatism and not THAT strong. When my glasses finally came in the woman who was in the office wasn't at all interested in making sure my glasses fit properly. She practically tossed my glasses at me. Her answer to everything was "uh huh" and only changed that tune when it came time to pay the balance due for my glasses. In addition the effort it took to get through on the phone to the office was entirely to much (calling every ten minutes for three hours straight) and the fact that the staff never called me back when they said they would, have all made for a not so good experience. The sole reason I MIGHT go back and the sole reason for the three star rating is the Dr. who, after it was all said and done is the one and only positive experience with Vision Quest. read more

I have been coming here for all my vision needs for the past year. What the store lacks in size, it definitely makes up for in service. I have purchased both glasses and contacts from here and I haven't encountered any problems. Even though the store looks small, there are still PLENTY of choices in frames. The only difficulty was choosing which pair I wanted! Thankfully the technicians were able to help pick out ones I really like. I wear contacts most of the time but I do like to have some spare glasses, just in case. I even brought in my old frames to have the lenses changed with no problems! The technicians were patient, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The doctor was also very nice and easy to understand. She has very personable nature that puts you right at ease. The entire experience was easy and fast. I pretty much breezed through a couple exams (first being a "pretest" where I just sat there and looked at a little tree and the second being the actual eye exam where I sat there and looked at little - and big - letters). The longest part was choosing the frames. Then next thing I know, my glasses (both of them) and contacts were ready for me to pick up! I would definitely come back here for my yearly exams and contacts. There are no complaints about price or any of that matter. So, first of all this place is super expensive. I paid extra $200 to get the bells n whistles (thinner lens, glare free n what not) for my glasses. The eye exam itself (contact lens $60 n eye glasses-not sure) was expensive. Picked up my glasses n realized the prescription was wrong n the girl couldn't get my glasses to fit (although she tried 4 times). I wish I would've gone to costco, instead of wasting my $ there. The boyf and I have been coming here for a couple of years now. John, the manager is great, and is willing to help answer any questions. Staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Kim is my optometrist and she's been great too. I mostly come here for contact lenses and the boyf gets his glasses here. Never had any big issues.
