I am absolutely speechless right now. I ordered a #1 with a side of cheddar bacon fries & asked the girl at the register which shake she recommends. She rang me up, $23 and some change. I didn't check the bag because I was in a hurry to get home (all the way to Goodyear) and get to bed as I wake up for work at 230am. I was also the ONLY customer in the place so what could possibly go wrong, right? Ha I opened the bag when I got home to find ONLY the side of cheddar bacon fries . Yup, $23 cheddar bacon fries. (My mom just had surgery, can't get out of the house & was craving a burger so badly which is why I drove all the way down to get her just that. I was heartbroken when I had to tell her I had no burger for her ). I immediately called Lenny's. First, the girl who answered played dumb like she had no idea who i was (again, I was the ONLY customer there & she was the ONLY employee that wasn't working in the kitchen). So I asked how many people were working the register "it's me & one other girl she said". I asked to speak to this "other girl" and was told she was busy lol Than as I explained the situation this girl gave me the rudest attitude I've ever encountered in a restaurant, ever. I was stunned. So I asked her name and she says "why? So you can report me to the manager?" I said "well, yes of course. I just paid $23 for a side of fries, that seems like ok service to you?". She hung up. Wow. This Lenny's has gone down hill. I ordered the sliders and onion rings. They used to have the best beer battered onion rings. Not anymore. These tasted awful. The breading was gross. I threw them in the trash. The burger meat had no seasoning nor dit it have any flavor. They lost me as a customer. Zero stars. read more

Such a fun diner-style experience. They have hotdogs, pastrami sandwiches, and every kind of burger you can think of. Tons of different sides to like fried zucchini chili cheese fries, etc. it's an all-around great burger shop. With 5 locations in the Valley of the Sun to serve you, if you are in need of a good burger, Lenny's most likely will have a location convenient to you. It is a 50's style diner with burger, dogs, sandwiches, salads and a small breakfast menu to serve you. With burger in the name that was the route i took. They have a solid burger specialty menu with a mexican burger, a cowboy and a garlic mushroom swiss burger. I went basic and got the the Single. They do allow you to pick your style. The choices are; Ranch Burger - Mayo Sauce Country Burger - 1000 Island Tasty Burger - Mustard & Ketchup Hickory Burger - BBQ Sauce I went Country. The best way i would describe the burger was it tasted like a Whopper did when i was kid and i loved the Whopper as a kid. It had a great smoky grilled flavor, ample american cheese, nice tomato and onion and a nicely fitting sesame bun. I know that the whopper does not come with thousand island but rather ketchup and mayo but hopefully you get the example. The fries were steak cut style and very generous. Overal a very solid 3.5 star burger and with my complicayed ranking system i will give them a four. read more

Update Update: I had some free time today and a serious burger craving so I let my curiosity get the best of me. As always, my order was the same and it's back to being delicious! The good news is that the drive-thru is now manned by a happy and pleasant employee. I'm glad Lenny's understands that their brand is not JUST their food and will happily resume my Friday night burger treats going forward! Update: it's been a couple of weeks since I voiced my concern over the rude and inept drive-thru employee at Lenny's and I haven't heard a word. It's clear that they do not care that they have lost business over this person. Lenny is like the restaurant version of fast food, not the fastest fast food, the take their time. However food is good, quite greasy but good. It was Mother's Day and trying to find any place I could eat was hard and honestly, depressing because my new diet was very limited. Lenny's sounded great and after calling ahead and confirming they would substitute the bun for lettuce, my husband set out to get our lunch. He was told once there that they would not wrap my burger in lettuce. So I got to transfer everything to a plate and fork and knife it. How a restaurant that adds lettuce to their burgers can't then wrap said burger in lettuce is a mystery to me. I'll chalk that up to poor customer service. read more

Lenny's is one of those neighborhood places that I've appreciated for years. Their new N. Central location is charming, the food is great and the service is fantastic, friendly and accommodating (I'm blind.). However... I just spent 20 minutes outside, waiting for the doors to open at 8am only to find upon calling, "No, we open at 9am." "You know that your website, Alexa, Yelp, Google Maps, etc. ALL SAY 8am, right?" As it happens I was told that the owner (Lenny) was bouncing back and forth between locations and he's "kinda been working with the hours" (Yes, I have eaten in there at just after 8am in the past. My suggestion is to keep the great food and great service, but don't screw around with local customers who've just walked a half mile only to be ignored outside your front door. It might not be worth the trouble the next time. (And yes, I could use Postmates if I wanted to pay twice as much. Apparently, though, you're not opening until 9am for them, either.) read more

Lenny's Burger offers several different burger and hot dogs options but they also have a few salad options as well. All of the burgers and dogs can be ordered as a combo with fries and a drink. To upgrade your fries to onion rings it's just an extra 30 cents. They have shakes, malts and floats too. I had their #5 ~ Cowboy burger with onion rings and a soda. It was a burger with all the trimmings including bacon and onion rings on the burger. The beef on this burger got a little lost with all the extras but it was still very good. I spotted their #6 the Mexican Burger with grilled onions and green chilies for my next visit!! The service at this Lenny's Burger is top notch! They are very accommodating and eager to please their customers. Their new place is really nice inside and out, so the next time your in that area and thinking about lunch, give Lenny's Burger a try. My boyfriend and I went to Lenny's Burger to use the free burger combo tickets we received from the Burger Battle. My vote was for Lenny at the Burger Battle so I was thrilled to check out the actual restaurant. I met Lenny and his family once before at the Burger Battle and thought they were friendly, informative, and very nice. Today, he was at his restaurant and I got to hear about how Lenny's opened and some more about the family owned business! Lenny moved from Detroit and has been in Arizona since 1984 serving his amazing burgers. My visit here was fantastic. I ordered a Ranch Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. The service was great, the food was delicious (just the way I remembered it) and Lenny was there with a smile. He even came by our table to see how everything was. Met The Lenny today when I was visiting my dad at a rehab facility. Lenny was so gracious and passionate about his burger shops that I knew I needed to try one out before leaving Phoenix. What a great decision. My mom ordered a Mexican burger combo and I had the pastrami burger combo. Everything was fantastic from the moment we pulled into the parking lot until we left. Excellent service from the cashier and manager who helped her out with a coupon we had. Food was prepared perfectly and quickly. Fries were superb. Slightly seasoned, a little crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Yum. Burgers were also superb. Tasty, hot, juicy, and just messy enough to make you salivate. I rarely get pastrami anymore but love it. Really great with the burger. A little salty like pastrami should be. Rich and meaty like a good burger needs to be. Will I be back? Hell yes. Stopped in for lunch with the family. Based on the Yelp reviews and good smells that hit us as we entered we were expecting good food. How wrong we were. I'll say the kids enjoyed their milkshakes (and seriously when do kids not like milkshakes)but beyond that we were disappointed. My cowboy burger just tasted burnt and everything on it was charred black. My wife's patty melt wasn't burnt but tasted like the meat was from a roadside kill. Our chili cheese fries were covered in what tasted like canned Hormel brand chili and some watered down nacho cheese sauce. It was very hot but more like it came out of a microwave than anything. I won't even comment on the service. Went hand in hand with the food. Will not be back and I'd advise against going. read more

This is the perfect casual burger joint. Counter service and self-serve drinks in a 50s diner atmosphere. Clean tables and nice people. The burgers are good. I think the pictures don't really do them justice. They taste much better than they look in those photos. :) The fries are great too, topped with a lovely savory seasoning salt. They are so good with the house fry sauce, a spicy mayo. I wish I could buy their seasoning salt and the fry sauce in jars to take home. Onion rings were thick rings, battered and fried to a nice crispness. Delicious. No soggy rings here. We liked every food item we tried. Also, worth noting that they have a drive-thru. If you aren't hungry, order the single patty, this thing was huge in the best of ways. The sauce is old school cause i haven't tasted something like this in a long time. The french frys were delicious. I was happy. I was slightly fished with the onion rings as they were a little over cooked for my taste, I enjoy a crispy light golden brown. These weren't. Second time to get the single burger combo. Several months back, the first one was mediocre but I still decided to give this place another chance last Dec 28, 2020. Ordered the same. It was horrible! The burger tasted like burnt meat. The fries were the only salvation, but then again, how can you really go wrong with fries. I would have returned back and complained about the taste of the burger but it was a take-out and I was already miles away when I started eating it. I could have spent my $9.30 at other burger places instead of this place. And the Coke was too bland. I guess they never check the soda dispenser to see if it was already out of syrup. The employee was extremely rude. She had asked me for ID which I wasn't upset about but when the next customers came in I just wanted to make sure she was Checking their IDs too. When I asked if she did she rolled her eyes at me and wouldn't let me speak cut me off and kept being rude to me so I talked to supervisor of shift and I watched them both laugh at the situation when the supervisor assured me she would speak to her. The lady who was extremely rude to be was named Brooke and when I asked for her name she gave me another dirty look . The customer service here is extremely horrible and the staff running register is extremely rude. I would recommend Lenny's burger on 35th ave and thunderbird and not this location on 27th and Glendale .
