My very first time buying glasses at age 26, so I found a livingsocial deal for this office. Dr. Mike Lenhardt and his staff were extremely kind and helpful. Not only did they explain everything to me clearly so that I didn't even have to annoy them with a million questions (which I tend to do with most doctors) but they also were understanding of my lack of finances (I'm a student, so I have large amounts of negative money, which oddly, most places don't accept...). While they have a large selection of high end designer eyewear, they also have more affordable options, and did not waste my time trying to sell me things that I didn't need. Overall a wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to picking up my new glasses in 7 - 10 days. :) read more

If someone told me I was skeptical of many in the medical field, I would wholeheartedly concur. I've never been one for 'snake-oil' and most of all, I thoroughly dislike and mistrust any health care professional who offers their services using the same operating format as McDonald's and Burger King. While I do like things 'my way', faster is not better when it comes to treating vision or any issue between my hair and shoes! My prior optometrist who was very nice, tended to rush clients through, a bit too quickly for my taste. Honestly, when I left their office, I'd swear that I had been coated with mustard and ketchup, topped with pickle, shoved inside a logo'd foam container and chucked out the drive-thru window into my car. "NEXT!" As a result of this rushed procedure, several aspects of my vision requirements were missed and the headaches and constant squinting continued to be a part of my daily existence. After speaking with my primary care physician, Mike Lenhardt was recommended, and why not, he's right next door! Talk about convenient, it was like shooting cave fish in a barrel (Cave fish are blind. Sorry, poor attempt at 'vision' humor). Seeing well, all joking aside, is nothing to laugh at. His office scheduled me for an 8:00AM Saturday appt. which is simply perfect for my work schedule. The staff was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable, and processed all of my paperwork via e-mail. When I walked in there was no hemming and hawing, just right to work on the preliminary diagnostic exam. As for Mike, can you believe he actually spent an 1 1/2 hours with me? It's true, this fine chap really went above and beyond to make sure he knew every aspect of my vision needs. Test after test, lens after lens, chart after chart, his service is above and beyond any optometric exam I have ever experienced. His equipment is more modern than most offices and this was a welcome relief. My last eye exam consisted of reading numbers reflected poorly off of a white wall. Mike uses not only standard charts, but also 'High Definition' flat panel TV's. Now, if you want cheap, go to Wal-Mart or some other office but don't expect to spend over an hour and a half with the optometrist. You'll pay a few dollars more in this office, but hey, those eyes in your skull are the only two you'll ever have. You're born with them, you'll die with them, even meet your wife with them ( that's a good thing, I think!). Take care of them and don't be cheap! Henry Royce (the brains behind Rolls Royce Motorcars) once said, "The quality will remain long after the price is forgotten." I've been going to Lenhardt Optometric Group now for 4 or 5 years. Dr. Mike is awesome at explaining the complexities of my complicated vision in a way that's easy to understand. He discovered and corrected a unique vision problem I had that other eye doctors didn't notice. You can tell he genuinely cares about people. Dr. Mike is just the best. I can't put into words how awesome he is. There are many optometrists out there, but there are few if any like Dr. Mike. When I looked at his name tag it actually said, "Dr. Mike." This was funny to me because most doctors would put something like "Michael Lenhardt," or something, but I figured he would have a sense of humor, which in fact he does! Dr. Mike is fantastic. I have found my lifetime eye doctor!!! The most thorough and complete exam I have ever had. I have been to several different eye doctors who all said I didn't need glasses. After seeing Dr. Mike, he prescribed me a very light prescription to use while reading, using the computer, watching tv, and it has made a drastic difference. NO MORE HEADACHES!! He is friendly, honest, and he genuinely cares about you as his patient even though it is the first time we ever met. The wait time to see him was less than 5 minutes. The exam was complete. Dr. Mike Lenhardt and his staff were awesome! I went in because I was having migraines and having some blurred vision due to my 17inch computer monitors at work. He made me feel at ease. He recommended I get the pictures of my eyes instead of dialating my eyes; which will further assist when I see my neorologist! I highly recommend. What can I say about this office and Dr. Lenhardt & his staff, but AMAZING...FANTASTIC...THOROUGH...CARING...ACCOMODATING...UNDERSTANDING... We came to see Dr. Lenhardt from another practice with an eye doctor we loved, but an office staff and policies that left us feeling like red headed step children because we couldn't drop $300 per person for glasses for the FIVE OF US ALL AT ONCE.....So, when we came to this new office, I was a little iffy and not interested in going through this again in any way shape or form. Well....Dr. Lenhardt and his staff did not disappoint! They went so far out of their way to help our family and to explain every little detail about the health of our eyes and why our eyes were so dry and irritated and how to remedy the situation. Simple solutions to problems that had been bothering us for YEARS! When it came time to replace my sons glasses, the optician even went to the back and found another side "handle" for his glasses and "Macgyvered" it all together to help give him the ability to wear his glasses until his new ones came in! I do have to say that it was a bit awkward when we insisted that we had to purchase glasses online for my son...because they were going to be FREE, & they kept pushing anti-reflective lenses and glasses we couldn't get, but I understand that even then they were going so far above and beyond what any other eye doctor has done for us in trying to help accomodate our situation and help my son get glasses with anti reflective coating to help reduce migraines for him. So, while that was not a fun interaction and one I would have preferred not to have had to have, I understand where they were coming from and it in no way would have swayed me from coming back. I found this practice on YELP and once again have not been disappointed! Dr. Lenhardt is absolutely an amazing eye doctor who is AWESOME with kids and will get your eyes in shape and work with your financial situation and his staff will leave you feeling like family before you walk out the door. I started having an eye irritation a few days back that progressively was getting worse. I woke up this morning and it hadn't stopped watering in 2 days and was starting to close up and get red. I looked on Yelp and am so happy I found Dr. Lenhardt. I called and they answered the phone before they were even open and sensed my urgency that my eye wasn't doing well. She immediately squeezed me in for 45 minutes later and got me right in. They emailed me the paper to fill out real quick as to not have to wait as long in the waiting room which was very convenient for me. I got there and they were extremely friendly, helpful and just good people. I had ankle surgery earlier this year and my DR. experiences haven't been very pleasurable. I was so happy I found this place. Dr. Lenhardt got me right in, and just seemed like he actually does care a lot about his patients well being. I felt comfortable and confident in his exam on my eye with the dye and looking around. He really spent a lot of time with me which I feel is rare. He runs a great practice, gave me free samples to cure the bacteria I caught from surfing to help my eye and it already is feeling better. I LOVED this place and I stumbled here by accident. My bf found out about them and told me I should try it. I didn't read the reviews or did any extra research as I am not a picky person and I am more concern with effectiveness and don't expect to be babied all the time. BUT I got treated super nicely here Tanya is super sweet and helpful I think she's an assistant she was very helpful and prep me up for Dr. Mike. Apparently it turns out I have astigmatism and for the time it took to get me set up with the right eye correction it looks like its complicated to detect and correct. Dr. Mike was awesome!!! He tried and tried to he got me to see almost perfect. I had no idea I had astigmatism I was used to seeing a bit blurry and resign to it lol. This review is loonngg overdue. I've been a patient of Lenhardt for about 3 years now and Dr. Mike and all the ladies in the office are pretty awesome. Very knowledgeable and a joy to interact with, even with having to deal with those boring vision tests. They are also wizards with glasses fittings, especially Ann and Audrey. Before coming to this office, I was prescribed glasses but rarely wear them because they were not comfortable and either sliding down my nose or digging into the bones behind my ears. They adjusted my glasses and voila! I can actually wear them for extended time now. I actually brought them sunglasses I got as a gift which didn't fit right but Audrey was able to adjust them so they fit better, all for free. I've had a screw come loose and the arm broke off a pair of glass and they also fixed that. Like I said...this office is amazing. I have dry eyes and they are very honest about the health of my eyes. The dry eyes were not serious and Dr Mike recommended some over the counter remedies to help with that. Unlike another optometrist in Orange that told me I have a developing condition that can ultimately lead to macular degeneration or blindness and I should buy their supplements for $140 to ward off the progression of this condition. Sucker that I am, I actually bought them, then found out you can find that type of supplement for $20 a bottle over the counter (where is the emoji with "suckers" stamped on forehead or palm slap to forehead). I actually don't have any such conditions leading to blindness or otherwise. The point is this office is NOT like that. They don't practice scare-mongering to get more money from you. If cost is a concern, they work with you to find a lower cost solution. read more
