Lunch stop. We had the Lemon Caprese and Turkey B.A.T baguette paninis. The baguette bread they use is tasteless and didn't seem very fresh. Lemon Caprese - over-powering lemon oil and balsamic vinegar. Both pieces of bread were soaked with the vinegar. I are the first half of the sandwich because I was hungry, not because I enjoyed it. I couldn't stomach the second half. I traded the second half for my wife's turkey BAT (bacon, avocado, tomato). She had two bites and ended up taking the mozzarella and tomato out of the Caprese sandwich and just eating that. Turkey BAT - generic, bland turkey, and a mustard/mayo dressing. It was no better than a ready-made sandwich from the supermarket. Strawberry shake - Not bad. They use fresh strawberries, which is nice. I wouldn't have minded if they used a few more to give it more strawberry taste. Either way, it was the best thing on the table. $30 for those three items and a coke. Overpriced and disappointing, but its the AV. No service, they bring out your meals and drinks and don't bother coming back to the table to refill drinks and check on your food. I won't even give it a three stars and call it "decent for the AV." I've been here before and have yet to be impressed, although previous food has been a little better. read more

My last experience at the lemon leaf was about a year ago...my company had its annual christmas party at lemon leaf. From day one when I contacted the owner and began to set a date and menu for the christmas party, I was treated BEYOND well and my every request was accomodated. On the day of the party, all 30 of us showed up at lemon leaf with gifts and everything...the table was ready for us and a bench for our gifts was placed next to our table. Food: Eveyone at the table was extrmely satisfied and I didn't hear anything that even resembled a complaint about the food. My personal experience that day was great...I ordered a pizza. First, it was much bigger than I expected for a personal size pizza and was to die for...if my memory serves me, I had the Margherita Pizza. Atmosphere: Very relaxing with an ordinary yet elegant feel to it. Service: Absolutely amazing, the servers were very attentive to the 30 of us and had drink refills there very quickly. It's been a while since I've been to the Lemon Leaf, but my memories of it are quite nice. I always ordered the saccheti "beggar's purse" pasta which is served up in a delicious pesto sauce and is very cheesy. I recall one instance when I came here and it was no longer listed on the menu, so I do hope it has returned. That pasta was the reason I ate there. My parents often got pizza with a cute little salad on top. I had a few bites and thought it was very good. I would love to go back and see how things have changed. They have a ton of vegetarian options which is perfect for my 30 day selection. 3. I like escaping to this restaurant. We just found a hidden gem in Lancaster! My family and I just had an awesome lunch here. The boys had the BBQ Chicken Pizza and they said it was "the best pizza I've ever had!" I thought the Salmon and Greek Salad was a hit. The desert was delicious as well. We had the brownies, chocolate chip cookies and the best of ALL was Grandmas Lemon cake with Mocha/Java icing. It's been a while since I was here but I still can't get this place out of my mind ...and not in a good way. I visited Lemon Leaf with my sister, we both got an entree and a dessert to share. What I remember the most was how disappointed I was because I had picked where to go to lunch that day and the food was extremely overpowered by garlic. I couldn't taste anything, not even the cheese in my ravioli, and it wasn't just my dish, my sister's was super garlicky too. I'm not sure if the chef was having an off day and added an over exaggerated amount of garlic or if the food often is sent out this way and no one ever speaks up. Either way I haven't been back since, I go out to eat to eat good food, not to eat garlic cloves. 2 stars because the service was decent, so not everything was bad. read more

I come here pretty often since its right next to my hair salon and is located on the beautiful updated Lancaster Blvd (the Blvd). I love that its quaint, the staff is very friendly, and the food is always yummy. I've never been disappointed coming here. I ate at Lemon Leaf Cafe for my birthday this year. The previous location was so welcoming, open and cute! So, as you can imagine, I was surprised to see the new place. The carpet and walls are worn with age, and the banquet room much too large. No decor. It lacks the same old charm we all came to know and love. There weren't many other guests eating when we got there, and so the atmosphere came off cold, and empty. No music plays, so you're left awkwardly picking at your plate between conversation. The quiet makes people talking and using their utensils so loud in comparison! On another note, the food is as I remembered it being. It was good, but I'm not sure that a lone is enough to convince me to visit again. The waitress also only came to check on my table maybe once while we were there. I think small improvements can make a big difference, so I'm commenting about my experience with good intentions! read more

I have lived in Lancaster area for several years. I finally decided to go ahead and check out this rather posh looking place in downtown Lancaster. I went there for a birthday meal, at lunchtime, with my mom. The price was fair for a good sized piece of salmon and delicious side at around 15.00. The tea was just okay, and the lemon pie, we tried was really quite mediocre, considering the namesake. I will probably go there again, as the atmosphere was pleasant, and while you order with a cashier when you arrive, (entering at the back door) the wait service was a nice blend of staying away for your privacy and attending to your needs. Pretty much arriving on cue. The two salmon lunches with a drink (mom chose water) and one dessert, were approximately 40.00 The meal was scrumptious, the dessert and drink just "okay". One problem with a place where you order at a counter, for me, is that I never quite know if they deserve as big a tip...and I like to tip fairly, but not overmuch, as I can only afford to eat out at a nice place very rarely myself, so, well it's confusing as to whether they should get as much when they don't get your order at the table. When we arrived around one there was a line of slightly well dressed folks (white shirts and dark pants types) maybe eight people but the line moved quickly, and after a quick trip to the lu, they were ready to take our order, but were kind when my mom handed them a barrage of questions about different dishes, and changed her mind (was it twice?) and then, off to a table with nice clean white table cloths, and ample seating, although it was a little crowded. Near us by the large front windows was what appeared to be a crowd of local professionals, about ten people who (if one might assume) appeared to be delighted to find a new haunt for decent food, on lunch breaks from work. The town is currently being renovated, and yes some road construction will probably not be completed in front of the place for several months, but still it will be way more nice out front when completed and there will be new trees, a brick walking area, benches and more parking to boot, when it is finished. The part that has been completed does add a more promenade like atmosphere to a town that really had not much atmosphere, previously. It would be a nice place to take a date, in Lancaster, when construction is finished...pretty classy for this little one horse town. read more

Came for the first time tonight per my boyfriend's suggestion for date night. I was blown away to say the least! I ordered the egg noodle shrimp ravioli with the best sauce I've ever tasted! The bf got BBQ chicken pizza, and it was so good, I didn't even mind the red onion, even though I'd usually pick it off! Even though there was a party of at least 20 people, the wait staff was attentive to everyone else, the noise level was fine, and most importantly, we finished everything on our plates! The owner even came out to say hi to some of the customers, and even ensure their comfort by shooing away skateboarders from the small patio area. Don't expect much chicken anywhere either and garlic bread doesn't exist in a Mediterranean restaurant! My first impression of the Lemon Leaf is that it is very spacious. Many reviews voice that the price and portions are unreasonable; which a case can be made. I personally didn't mind the price and portions once I tasted the food. Out of the multiple dishes I tried the food was well prepared, simple and clean. Combined with friendly service, a rustic relaxed atmosphere and lack of table/seating claustrophobia this was an excellent experience. read more

I love this little place! I've been here a few times already and just love it! The place has a Sizzlers type of ordering; you order at the front and sit at any table you want. Anyway, when i went i had there creamy pesto and just loved it! My friend ordered the asian chicken salad and he said he also liked it. They give you unlimited bread and butter on the side which is nice too (good for dipping in the pesto sauce!). For drinks they have different types of flavored sodas in a bottle, i got the orange cream and my friend got the black cherry, we both liked them. We also ordered a sparkling water with lemons and tasted great! For desert we tried this one apple pie and the waiter suggested making it al amode, which was very good. We also tried this cream filling waffle thing with berries and thats pretty much what it was; a waffle cone with a vanilla type filling and berry fruit. I have been to this place a couple times, and both times the food was fantastic! It's located in the older part of Lancaster, so, it feels as if you stepped back into time when walking down the street. It's near the public library, a dress boutique (another place to check out), and across from a local art gallery. The cafe itself has really nice decor, pleasant employees, and of course great food. I have tried a couple different pizzas (the Caprese and the sausage pizza w/veggies), as well as the Ceasar salad and the turkey cobb (not just by myself...there were a few of us sharing). For dessert, I have tried the chocolate covered strawberries (always good) and the apple cobbler (heated w/a scoop of vanilla ice cream). The street itself felt creepily empty (I guess I'm just too used to the energy of LA) but the restaurant looked inviting. You get a menu, seat yourself, decide on what to order then go to the counter to order. They give you a number to put on the stand on the table. They bring your food to the table. The wait was comparable to table service waiting times. The food is worth the wait. I had the Southwestern Chicken Salad and my companion had the Cranberry Smoked Turkey Salad. They both were amazing. I can't say I'd drive up there for a salad, but I'd definitely go back if I were nearby. read more

Legit good food in Lancaster. We had their great Greek wrap and the veggie quiche for lunch on Saturday. The quiche was delicious and the wrap was pretty good as well. The wrap is enormous...as in you could easily share one for lunch. I'm a big eater, but half a wrap and the quiche were plenty to get me stuffed. Overall, the food was very fresh and wasn't heavy at all...great place for a light lunch. Our bill came to $18 for the wrap, quiche, and a cappuccino. Not bad. As for the restaurant itself, it's a chill place. They have plenty of tables (25 or so?) and it's not cramped at all. Good place to get some work done as well. Anyways, check out. I ordered the spicy pink pasta, the flavor was spectacular with the perfect amount of creaminess and spice topped with delicious bell peppers and onions!!!! My friends ordered the caprese sandwich, and the mushroom fettuccine Alfredo. The caprese sandwich wa crispy delicious bread and fresh mozzarella with the perfect hint of lemon to bring out the pop of basil. The Alfredo sauce was combined perfectly with the earthiness of the mushrooms. All the food is made in house, and they have a wide range of options for all food groups, including vegetarians, and vegans! Nice atmosphere and thoughtful food. The atmosphere is very much like a cafe should be. I live how the deserts are on display at the register on the back. Though we chose not to get desert, they looked tasty. The menu is very simple. I personally like to see a small menu, because it means more food to be fresh and easier to master. We started with the bruschetta for an appetizer. That was delicious, but I'm not a fan of having to top my own bread with the mix. The main course was pizza for both of us. I took the advice of the cashier and got the BBQ pizza, which very sweet, but tasty. The other pizza was a Sicilian style pizza. A much better pie. The pizza served here was closer to Italian pizza than any other pizza I've tried in the area. Beverages were pretty limited in the alcohol department. I ordered an Irish red and we also had a chocolate stout. I would recommend to the owner to go next door and get a steady supply of craft beer from Kinetic brewery. The owner brags about her menu that she made it but all their food is mid. The prices are extremely high for store bought food and desserts. They are lucky that pour d vino at the blvd closed cause that was real food and their chef and menu was the best. But lemon leaf is so whack and the owner is horrible. She doesn't have any help I only see this one poor girl with red and black hair hustling to serve food back and forth and the other waitress named Kat I believe. The girl Kat taking her time, talking so rudely to employees and customers and on her phone. Hopefully the show restaurant impossible can make a episode helping showing there is no hope for this restaurant. On a short visit to Lancaster finding it's downtown totally transformed, we we're told about The Lemon Leaf by a business acquaintance who gave it such glowing reviews we drove straight there from our meeting. Good move! Well past the Mid-week lunch hour we were still lucky to find a table. Always a good sign. And the food was terrific. The Tuna wrap was enormous as well as delicious. Could easy be shared by two. And the Lemon tart we did share for dessert was killer. You have to order and pay up front from the counter but they serve you at your table after that. And that was fine. It's a friendly relaxed sort of place you can bring friends to and just have a good time. Instantly went on our favorites list. Too bad we live 1400 miles away. read more
