One of the best overall customer service experiences I have ever had. These awesome folks saved our sanity with our time schedule, and did AMAZING work! Four weeks out, I purchased a prom dress for my daughter that fit great in the store. Heavy ball gown style dress with boning in the bodice and zipper back. Unreturnable and unexchangeable. She got sick the following week and dropped almost two sizes in one week! Three weeks out, she puts the dress on to show her friend and the corset bodice is loose and her breasts are lost in the cups. She's still unwell and may lose more weight, so we need to find a tailor. The store we purchased the dress from recommended Legacy Tailor, so with hope and prayers, we called to set up an appointment at the Plano location. The problem? Working around my work schedule, and daughter's work, school, drill team, dance, and church obligations. I spoke with Wade, who was so helpful and guided me to set up my appointment request online and to mention the schedule crunch. He squeezed us in on a Saturday and then I found out daughter was scheduled to work, so I emailed him to request the ONE day in late afternoon that we could do it. Wade fit us in! Appt is 2.5 weeks before prom. Daughter and I come in and wait about 10 minutes tops. A lovely young lady named Lauryn does the pinning/prep work. We chat and she's a fashion designer. So happy she's doing the pinning because she's listening to every detail daughter is requesting. We tell Lauryn about our schedule and she says it will be ready the Wednesday before prom Saturday. We leave and are confident it will be ready based on their business volume. I could tell they knew what they were doing. I call one week later and the dress hasn't been started yet, but I expected that. Well, daughter's schedule changes again, and now nails have to be done that same Wednesday afternoon. Did I mention this is daughter's junior year and she decided in Feb to squeeze her four senior classes in online so she could graduate this year instead? It's an IMPOSSIBLY TIGHT schedule. 7 days out and daughter is having several panic attacks. I call Legacy Tailor on Monday morning almost in tears myself and Lauryn answers. The dress is about to get started on. I explain our situation; we're literally losing our sanity. Lauryn speaks with the woman working on the dress, Carlota Bustamante. Dress will be ready Tuesday afternoon! OK; between homework and work, we can make it. I get a text that same Monday afternoon that the dress is ready! Daughter calms down and will stay up late studying. We go to get the dress. I absolutely cannot tell you what an AMAZING job Carlota did on the dress. We absolutely couldn't tell that any tailoring was done except now daughter looked as if she was poured into the bodice. Absolutely gorgeous! I tipped for the outstanding service and for Lauryn going out of her way to ensure our ever-changing schedule was accommodated! I love this place! Everyone working there is an expert at their craft and friendly. I've never had a bad experience or have had to have a re-do of anything I've gotten tailored. Sometimes they get busy and you need an appointment (but that's only during the wedding season). There are A LOT of people who come here to get their wedding gown or other formal attire altered. They have a dry erase board welcoming brides who make an appointment for their first fitting. I don't think I've ever seen fewer than a dozen names each time I come in no matter the day of the week or time of year. I took in a bridesmaid dress to be tailored I was told it would be done on October 30th. When I went to pick it up on October 30th, they could not even find my dress for about 10 minutes. Once they did find it, the dress had not been altered, even after having it for TWO weeks. I had plans so I had to leave but did receive a text later that evening that it was ready. I went in today, 10/31, and they had horrible customer service. Charged me full price for their mistake and even claimed "it was ready by the end of the day yesterday, you just didn't get it." DO NOT BRING YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE. They ruined the bust and embroidery, tailored it way too small and then accused my size 0-2 daughter of gaining weight. Take responsibility for your poor work and bad attitude. I had to tell her to stop raising her voice at my daughter as she was crying. We ended up taking the dress to my normal tailor and she was able to fix it beautifully and she was able to wear it. I cannot stress enough to RUN FAR from this place. She charged me $1600 to ruin a dress that I then had to pay an additional $800 at my tailor to fix. if I could leave no stars I would. this place was recommended from Lewisville Bridal Boutique where I bought my wedding dress. My first appointment I left in tears, I had to argue for every single alteration I needed for my dress. The lady kept saying she couldn't take out my dress, she didn't want to do this and that. It was awful. I ended up paying over 1k in alterations I had to fight for in the first place. Come to 2nd appointment and the alterations are not even complete. On top of that the cup inserts which I had brought up first appointment did not fit me and then tried to charge me $60 for smaller padding. This was a horrible and over priced experience. I don't recommend this place at all. Go somewhere that actually cares what you think and feel during your appointment and isn't just out to rail road you in pricing. read more

I called ahead to see if they did a really particular kind of repair, as I had a pair of lululemon joggers get mangled in the dryer and had to repair the drawstring. I cannot recommend Legacy Tailor enough! Nagwa made all my dreams come true for the fit of my wedding dress. As a curvy girl it can be tough to find the right fit for your clothes and many tailors will tell you that if you go fitted the seems won't hold, but Legacy did everything I asked in the most flattering way possible. I came to Legacy Tailor after a bad experience with Star Dust Bridal Tailors. I was feeling defeated and horrible about my dress and my tailor, Nagwa, completely turned my day around. She snatched my waist just like I wanted and even added and adjustable waist band if I wanted to go tighter. I had a second dress that I wanted to add sleeves and a covered chest designed out of a veil that matched the dress and she created exactly that. She was able to change the whole look of the dress to fit my vision. And she did both of these dresses in 1 month! She is a magic maker! There was nothing she couldn't make happen. I took my daughters prom dress to get altered at legacy tailor for my daughters senior prom 3/2023. We had such a bad experience with them. They did a horrible job. The dress needed to be hemmed and the shoulder straps needed to be taken up. I was charged almost $300 for the alteration. Shauna was the worst. Not helpful at all . She seemed like she was really annoyed with me because I was not happy with the work they did. I was able to get the hem redone after I sent an email and the shoulder straps also need to be redone. The hem looked better but it was still a bad job. The shoulder straps where take out too much but we just left it like that. I was just tired of dealing with them. I send a second email letting them know that I was unhappy with the service, because when my daughter went to pick up her dress the second time she was unable to try it on. She was told that there was a long wait for the fitting room but she could take it back if she needed to. I was very unhappy with the service overall. I would not recommend. I never got a reply to my second email. I do not need one now. read more

Last March (2020) I needed my wedding dress altered for our May beach wedding. I was worried about time because the whole dress needed to be taken in since I had lost weight after ordering it. This place was recommended online so I went. Very nice place with great customer service. They are very good at what they do! Made my dress look so good on me. The service has declined immensely. The alterations are not comparable as they were about 1-2 years ago. Find out from the front desk rep that there is new ownership/management now. A little misleading as they kept the name and accolades from the previous owners. The customer service was also not up to par when I confronted them about an alteration at the hemline. We/they tried to figure out a quick fix but didn't seem to work, and I was still unhappy with the final product. The seamstress (that was working that day and helping me) laughed then told me, "It's ok, no one is going to notice it. You're being picky and complaining about something no one is going to see". I originally was not going to respond to Ryan's attempt to contact me. I have no desire to argue with him, and I'm certainly not wanting anything from him. However, since Ryan commented on my review and decided to lie to you, I attempted to call him at Legacy Tailor. The girl that answered the phone said that Ryan "hardly ever comes to the shop so there wouldn't be a chance for me to speak to him." Therefore, I feel that I should set the facts straight here so that you have the best information in making your decision to have your wedding dress altered here. Here are the facts: April 29, 2020 (paid $405.94) - first appointment August 13, 2020 - I noticed the dress didn't fit correctly. I left the appointment and started to feel worried. I called Legacy and explained my concerns and was told to come back in on 8/15. August 15, 2020 (paid $405.94) - brought my sister with me to this appointment for a second opinion. She agreed that the dress didn't appear to be altered correctly. She also noticed the large buttons meant for a bustle below my bottom, and she was shown how to bustle the dress during this appointment. I bought a new dress on 8/22 and had my alterations appointment at Altered for the Alter (highly recommend) on 8/24. There was no need for me to attend additional appointments. I was planning a wedding and had no desire to address the issue of the ruined dress. My wedding date was 10/4/2020. Pardon my exaggeration on the cost. I initially stated I paid $900 for alterations when the correct total is $811.88. I also feel compelled to include that I lost 25 lbs within the year of planning my wedding. My fiancé came here in hopes of having her wedding dress altered. She unfortunately had a poor experience, including one of the tailors complaining about how long the work would take to alter the dress. She didn't feel comfortable leaving her dress with them by the end of their session and later called to request it be ready for pickup the following day. Upon her arrival, the dress wasn't ready, and she had to do a majority of the unpinning herself before she could leave. Additionally, there were no follow ups about her experience, or why she didn't want to do business with them. I came in yesterday in hopes of having her credited for the fitting as a courtesy due to her poor experience, and in the hope to allow some conversation before we left a review. I had what I believe to be a fairly respectful conversation with the manager present, who was certainly professional, but there weren't any attempts to make the situation right. We aren't upset about the amount charged for the work done, as that's ultimately not a large amount. We are however disappointed in the poor customer service and the attitude of "we have a lot of customers and some people just don't want to work with us". It's definitely true that you can't make everyone happy, and I do believe based on other reviews they do good work. We personally just didn't have a great experience, and didn't see it communicated our time was respected, or they were overly concerned with providing good service. Unfortunately, my experience here as a bride was a nightmare. It was evident that they are a quantity vs a quality tailor. They made multiple mistakes on my wedding dress that lead to more alterations in an attempt to correct their own mistakes. During my third appointment, my dress was presented to me with unauthorized cuts. They cut out the entire back of my dress, when I explicitly told them not to. They refused to take any responsibility... insinuated that I gained weight... and made alterations that I never approved of, all of which I was charged for. (EXPENSIVE!) When we expressed our frustration, they insisted it was what we asked for, but I can say with certainty, it was not. At this point, all trust was lost. We decided to take my wedding dress to another tailor to correct their huge mistakes. If you are thinking of using this tailor to alter your wedding dress, I would advise you look for someone else. They are not a detail-oriented place and don't do what we ask. They make decisions on their own and you won't see it until your next appointment. Very disappointed. read more

This company was recommended to me from where I purchased my wedding gown. I drove an hour from my home to get here. I was 3 minutes late and they seemed super annoyed and I felt so rushed. They had a full lobby (I guess for prom) and I told them over the phone when I made my appointment that my dress did not currently fit. After trying it on, the back did not zip all the way and the seamstress told me to workout harder and "try harder" & that there was nothing she could do! I mean truth hurts & I can handle it but it was just so rude and in front of everyone. I was so embarrassed! I wanted to cry, but thankfully held back. I am taking my dress to a competitor and instead of starving myself, they can actually work with me and help me to take it out a little. There is always a way & Legacy decided to not only turn down my business but also humiliate me in front of people. Honestly, I should be thanking whoever that woman was though because I have been working out twice a day now and hear her voice in my head, making me want to WORK HARDER! Legacy Alterations was recommended to me by my bridal shop and I went through two rounds of alterations with them. Both times I was treated with patience, respect and attentiveness. I worked with Nagwa the most and she is absolutely AMAZING! After losing a bunch of weight right before my wedding, I was in tears that my dress did not fit how I wanted it to anymore. Nagwa spent so much time listening to me and helping me make my dress fit how I liked it again. I ended up getting 18 bustles on my dress and Nagwa made sure to color code them and practiced bustling the dress with us multiple times. She was so comforting and understanding through the whole process especially when I was getting close to the wedding and was feeling stressed. You always hear that people will remember how you make them feel and here I am 3 months after my wedding still thankful for how she made me feel. She had my dress for 2 weeks and called me on the day it should have been done. She called and said she had not started because she didn't know how to make the dress shorter without cutting it. They had my dress done in time for my bridal portraits and it's better than I had expected!
