    I'm not the biggest fan of leaving low rated reviews, but I honestly had such a bad experience. I did not have the amazing/glorious time that everyone else on Yelp seemed to have. Let's just get straight into it: - La was my first tailor in Dallas. I'm originally from Miami and accustomed I guess to privacy while changing, etc. I'm not sure if she was displaced due to COVID? but her current location is an open space. You change right where she works with windows that have tiny blinds somewhat open that are facing a small parking lot. Not my jam, lol. Made for a super awkward changing station. - I could have gotten over the prior point, but I had such a disappointing experience with what I wanted. I went to La for the sole purpose of taking in a dress I'd be wearing for a friend's wedding. I wanted two main things from my alterations: 1. To have it taken in around the waist where it billowed, and 2. To ensure that my cleavage was covered adequately, yet remove the excess material. My issues were this: - At the first appt, after I'd changed, she immediately went to work with her suggestions, which OK no big deal - I'm happy to hear how you'd think it look better, but make sure you know what *I* want, too. - She focused so much on selling her suggestions, that she went straight to cutting things! She snipped off my straps to make a point of how it'd look better straight (vs at the back they were X across the shoulder blades). I told her no thank you, please put them back the way they were before. I would have been ok with all of that, but when I came back for my 2nd appt to try-on/pick it up, I realized she never paid attention to what I wanted with the dress (point #2 above), and she'd left my straps the way SHE wanted it. I'm a busty girl. #2 was not fixed to my liking at all. She took out too much fabric over my chest, so where I had an issue before of too MUCH fabric -- now I had too little to work with. I literally went to put on my heels to check the length with the dress, and my entire top snapped open. She had to add a huge clasp after appt 2 just to ensure that I wouldn't bust out. And that still wasn't enough. Day of, I had to work with a shitty safety pin to ensure it would stay closed. I'd stressed at our initial appointment that I didn't want a ton of cleavage showing. That I wanted to raise where the button clasped the fabric together so there'd be minimal cleavage. I honestly have no idea what La was thinking. :( And now I'd be attending as a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding in a dress where my cleavage was BUSTING out. Yeah, not my cup of tea. At. All. I was mostly pissed about the cleavage. Just ahhh. I wore the dress that day because I didn't have a backup. I was self-conscious about my cleavage the whole night. I threw it out once the night was done. The dress was originally so pretty, too. That's how much I'd hated the changes. Soo... yeah. La, I'm sure you're a lovely woman. I don't know if there were just a bunch of misunderstandings because you were rushing or what. I honestly have no idea.

    La did a great job on my suit. She's very sweet and kind and she knows her stuff. She's very reliable and she made my suit fit me perfectly. Thanks again La!!

    La did an INCREDIBLE job on my wedding dress. I brought her two wedding dresses from Torrid and she took the top of one and the bottom of the other and made a whole new dress! She added lace sleeves, adjusted the neckline into the deep V that I wanted, added about 4 inches to the dress, and added a lace detail at the bottom. As a plus size bride, I was terrified that I wouldn't find a dress that I loved, and La was so kind and helpful in suggesting the MANY alterations that made my dress as flattering as it was! The price was very reasonable and the craftmanship was fabulous! I couldn't recommend her more! (One tip: when you type in the address in your GPS, it won't take you exactly where you need to go. It took me about 20 minutes to find it, but it was worth it! Once you get to the building, drive toward the back and look for a back entrance. You enter that hallway and find suite 101A that way.)

    I had just gotten off the phone from a rather unpleasant conversation with La regarding a bait-and-switch situation with pricing. To recount a bit of history, I initially brought a set of scrubs to be tailored back in January, and La did an excellent job with that set. After that great experience, I brought three other sets of scrubs to be tailored in the same exact way a few weeks ago. La did not give me an invoice with pricing, so I asked her if it was going to be the same price as last time, and she told me yes, although she would have to look back at her records to see exact price. The alterations were supposed to be ready on 5/22/21 before I had to leave town, but there was a delay, so my wife had to pick them up on my behalf when they were ready today - no big deal because I wasn't in a hurry to get them back. After making arrangements to have them picked up by my wife, and even confirming again that the price will be the same, La manages to charge my wife a total of $10 more than previously promised. I call La to inform her that I was disappointed that the price she charged was not the same as we had discussed, and her response was very concerning. She told me that she looked up her records for how much she charged me the first time, and that it was a really good price, so she had to charge me extra. She further told me (and here's the kicker) that she can refund me extra $10 charged, but she will not be able to do any more business with me because she can't have customers expecting her to do things for the same price forever. I tried to explain to her that the only reason there was an expectation that the price would be the same is because when I initially inquired, she said it would be the same. Had she told me in the beginning, "No, the prices will be a little bit higher this time by a total of $10", this would have been a non-issue. I expect the people I do business with to be honest, and if they give me their word, it does not change just because my wife is going to pick up the items instead of me. If she felt like she couldn't do the alterations for the same price in the future, she could have also told me that she looked back at her records and the price was really good, and while she will honor it this time because she had promised, in the future, it will be a little bit higher. But she did not do any of this. She did end up issuing the refund, and while I was annoyed by the fact that she did not feel like she did anything wrong in this situation and felt so high-and-mighty as if she didn't need my business, I was just going to leave it alone. I really was not planning to write a negative review because it's a small business and I like supporting small businesses. I recognize that it is not easy to do business, especially during a pandemic, so it pains me to have to write this review. However, my wife just sent me photos of the work La did and it's terrible. There are threads coming loose and unravelling, thread colors not matching, stitching not in alignment, and stitching too tight, causing the fabric to pull. I have attached photos for your reference and you can be the judge of the quality rendered by this establishment. Normally, I would have brought it back to her to correct, but since she said I am not allowed back, the only recourse I have is to write this review and take the scrubs somewhere else to be repaired. Edit: She did end up refunding me for the three items of poor quality, like she said she would in her response.

    It's not like La needs another 5 star review, but I'm going to write one anyway! After I purchased my wedding dress, I worried for 9 months straight about what it would actually look like on me. And then when it arrived, I thought I would be relieved, but I continued to worry. Enter La. She is knowledgable, she is thorough, and she can be brutally honest, but that's only because she has your best interest in mind. For the first time in 18 months, I felt a sense of calm, knowing that my dress was in good hands. That shit is priceless. You have to be flexible with scheduling. She often calls to reschedule because she gets backed up. But no matter the deadline, she will get it done. My best friend called La 4 days before we left for the wedding because another tailor had botched her bridesmaid's dress. La came to the rescue as she always does. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best decisions I made when it came to the wedding. Thank you, La!

    This review is wayyyyy overdue. La was amazing! She not only altered my wedding dress to fit perfectly, but she also was able to take my grandmother's dress (which was 70-year-old fabric that had been handstitched in Switzerland after WWII) and turn it into a beautiful reception dress that I was able to wear at my own wedding in Switzerland. I would highly recommend her for any alterations!
