A family friend recommended Sis Alterations based on their positive experience. I brought several blazers, dresses, pants, and a skirt for alterations as I was starting a new job. When I went in for the alterations, everything went well. I received my pick-up ticket for one week later. I arrive to pick up my alterations and only a few of my items were ready. I was very upset since I needed one blazer outfit in particular for my first day. Instead of calling me to explain that not everything was ready or to ask me what was priority since she wouldn't have time to make all the alterations, she randomly picked items to alter - some of which looked like she didn't do anything we discussed. I was given another pick up date to get the rest of my items. Once I got home, I noticed that there were small, but noticeable, holes in my expensive, never worn, lavender blazer. Further, there were small dark stains on my cream colored blazer. I decided to bring these items for when I go to pick up the rest of my clothes. I arrive to pick up the rest of my clothes and the owner isn't there. I show the two blazers to two people who worked there. The man laughed in my face. The young woman asked me to write down my contact information, and then realized it was on the ticket. I was told I would receive a call from the owner to discuss my issues. I never received the call, which brings me to writing this review. I trusted Sis Alterations with my expensive clothing, and paid over $500 for alterations. I do not recommend others to bring expensive clothing to this place. I had a terrible experience and will never come back here. read more

Thanks to other Yelp reviews I found Sis Alterations for my wedding dress. The owner is very sweet, knowledgeable and professional. I needed my dress taken out. She quoted me a specific date and delivered. My dress fit me better than I could've ever asked! Her work was remarkable! She also added a bustle that was such a blessing for the reception. I was uncertain of chancing work done on some pricy clothes, but Choi (Joy?) is amazing and great to work with. She took in the waist for a skirt and hemmed the length of a gown neatly after some giving some recommendations of what would look nice. Naturally, wear shoes you intend to wear with a dress/pants so she can get a better idea of where to hem items, but she does have spare heels at the shop for that purpose. Make sure to bring in clothes/formal wear ahead of an event so she has ample time to tailor. I'm looking forward to visiting again. read more

I came as a walk in to get a consultation on my wedding dress in early December. The dress was super cheap because a previous bride tried to alter it--I disclosed this all to the seamstress and said I am shopping around since I know not everyone would take the project. Some seam allowance was left by the prior seamstress, so she said she would need to leave my dress with her for a month so she can let out the seam. Then I would come back and try it back on. I asked her what would happen if the seam still wasn't enough. She was super nice and said it's easy, she can add fabric and add appliqué. She sounded very confident and was so nice so I agreed to work with her. A month seemed long just to let out a seam but I understood it's Christmas season, so I didn't make a fuss. I come back a month later with my maid of honor. Put the dress on and immediately the seamstress tells me it's not too late to buy a new dress. She tried selling me the ones she had. I kindly declined. She came over and pointed at my chest and said "this is big bc you have nothing here. I can't do anything about that. Just put down tape." I was taken aback but said ok. Then she pointed at the hips which were a little too tight still and she said "this is too small. I can't do anything. Buy a new dress." And she tried to sell me the ones she had again. I reminded her of the conversation we had last month and she reluctantly said "ok sure I'll do that." She was so rude and did not feel confident at all. I went outside to talk with my MOH and called my fiancé. Both of them agreed to cut my losses and take the dress elsewhere. This seamstress tried to charge me $150 for essentially wasting my time for a month, when she could have said she's not confident at ANY POINT. she said she didn't know until after I was gone and I told her she literally had my number and, again, could have called me and kindly said she does not feel confident. I've been so lax about wedding planning, but I really feel like I've been taken advantage of by this woman. She wasted my time and basically tried to make a profit by selling me another dress like 5 times. I am so lucky that another customer and their young child entered during this conversation because the seamstress completely changed her attitude. Idk if she treated me differently bc I look young or what. But when the other customer entered, her demeanor totally changed and said I was right and to go ahead and take the dress. She said selling the other dresses and making fun of the fact that I do not have boobs were all a joke and in good fun. But she wasted my time. I feel like if I allowed her to finish the alterations, she would have purposely done a subpar job just to say she tried and then put me in a time crunch to attempt to sell me the other dresses again. I got my wedding dress altered here. It was wonderful! Choi is brilliant. She gave me lots of great tips on how to make my dress look beautiful and she put in a beautiful bustle that's invisible to the eye but pops up and hooks my skirt so I can dance without tripping. She doesn't pressure you into buying things you don't need. She does amazing work, on time (often earlier than expected), and is honest and kind with everyone. Definitely recommend! read more

I went here for the first time needing a few pants hemmed. I'm picky about keeping my clothes nice, so I was a little nervous at first. However, I read the good reviews and the work was even better than I was expecting. The hems are so professionally done that they don't even look altered! My wife recently needed some pants hemmed for work. I had taken my reception dress to Sis Alterations a few years ago and had a wonderful experience, so I decided to use them again. Although the service was great and the pants look good, I was surprised that I was charged $16 per pant to have them hemmed 1 1/2 inches. Not worth the price in my opinion, but she is amazing when it comes to gowns and more formal pieces. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. First of all, she's very reasonable in price and second of all, the craftsmanship in her work is second to none. Men's warehouse turned me down and sent me to SIS and boy I'm glad they did. I got a specialty jacket that didn't quite fit in the chest and arms and on top of that, it was a nylon biker style jacket which made it even more complicated, but SIS came through and finished my pants and this jacket and everything turned out better than I expected. Needed some pants let out for my son. Apparently Mexican Charro suits run small. Went in on a school day with only a pair of my kids jeans. Pants were ready in a week. Looked great. Didn't fit. That was my fault, I should have had my son try them on. Brought them back on a Saturday, this time my wife went, they measured my son and pants were ready today (4/3/18). I figured I'd pay for not doing my due diligence but much to my surprise there was no charge. Excellent service, reasonable prices and great turn around.
