Cindi has tailored clothing for me for years. No problems. However, on the TWO OCCASIONS that I gave her a bigger project, there were serious problems. I asked her to sew 6 cushions for outdoor furniture. She told me to deliver the expensive Sunbrella fabric, which I did. To use as a pattern, I also gave her the 20 yr old cushions including the existing layered foam and polyester fiber fill cut to match the shape of each cushion. She volunteered to use her own thread and zipper. I trusted her. So.....she used a white zipper on dark blue fabric, clearly visible from 15 ft. away. She did not use the cut-to-fit cushion foam (it was flat) nor would she let me bring in new foam. Instead, she just stuffed the new cushions with soft polyester fiber fill which does not produce the smart edge that fits the pattern. The sides sag & the fabric wrinkles as it is not properly filled. She, an experienced tailor, refused to "see" the problem that her filling is markedly different from the pattern. I tried three ideas to solve this together and she screeched at me that she doesn't usually stuff the cushions; she just sews up the covers. But she had just filled them..improperly....I now have to buy and cut two kinds of cushion filling and finish these cushions myself. read more

I visited Cindy at Plano Tailor and Drapery (PTD) a couple of months back, so I am a little late in submitting this review. I went to PTD with somewhat of an odd project; I created two strap systems for a "molle" panel and range case for my truck seat backs. To help Cindy understand my project I took with me a hand drawn set of schematics to show what the completed project would look like. In reviewing my schematics and listening to me describing the project, I could tell that Cindy was somewhat nervous. She was trying to understand my vision and my schematics, both of which were, in my estimation, new to her. Nevertheless and thankfully, Cindy not once indicated to me she was not up to the task. She listened very intently and gave me confidence that she would be able to complete the project for me. I was happy! I recall Cindy quoted me four days on the completion time and despite my telling her I was not in any hurry, she completed the job earlier than promised. And, she completed the work to my satisfaction! Thank The pricing for the project was very reasonable and I felt it was a fair price for the work performed. I have not used PTD for any type of drapery project or what one might deem normal alterations, but I believe Cindy would provide professional quality workmanship, fair pricing, and timely completion of any job accepted. I'm glad I decided to try out PTD and have no regrets; I would definitely use their services again and do recommend that, should you have any alterations or custom tailoring work needing to be done, you also give Cindy at Plano Tailor and Drapery a chance to earn your business and favor! Been coming here for years to get my store bought suits and slacks tailored and custom fitted, and they always come out perfectly. Cindy is always very detailed with measurements and will fix it if it doesn't turn out the way you want (which rarely happens!). Prices are very reasonable, and service is timely. I needed some new draperies altered to fit a couple of windows. Cindy did an amazing job, in a few days for a really reasonable price, that a week later I brought another set of draperies to be altered and she finished this set in a few days as well. Best of all when she says something will be ready, it is. None of this, sorry can you come back, I haven't finished it yet. My husband needed a tie and a dress shirt pocket restitched. I had custom curtains made for my daughter's room and they turned out so beautifully! A few months later I brought in 2 twin sized duvet covers and asked to have them converted into a full and the result was perfect, even with the fabric dimensions not being perfectly aligned. I've also had clothing alterations done and they've turned out exactly how I wanted. Turnaround times has always been faster than quoted, even though I don't expect my items earlier. My Nana passed away about a year and a half ago and I finally got around to researching tailors who could make pillow cases out of 2 of her shirts - 1 for me and 1 for my Granddad. When I picked the pillows cases up, they looked perfect. I was nervous trusting anyone with them, but Cindy did great work.
