Could not have asked for a better experience getting suits for myself and my groomsmen. The Vu family was always extremely helpful and patient throughout the process. They provided great recommendations and options to fit the aesthetic colors of the wedding color palette. I was a bit nervous in general for how the coordination process would work specific to our wedding since all of my groomsmen were on the east coast and in different cities. The Vu family made me feel reassured that that they could get all my measurement and orders complete in an organized and timely manner. They definitely did a great job handling all of the logistics that came with having all of the groomsmen in different places. For the groomsmen located on the east coast, the Vu family worked with them directly on the phone and also email to make sure they gathered all of the measurement needed for the suit orders. If they needed more information they always followed up with me or my groomsmen. I was constantly asking to make sure the timeline for the suit order could be met and they were always proving great updates. From the beginning they told me and my groomsmen when they needed to have all of the measurements in order to get the orders filled. My groomsmen all got their items in a timely manner before having to fly out to our wedding location on the west coast. They even had time to make any small adjustments as needed at their local shops due to the timely manner from the shipments. I decided to go with a custom suit and really enjoyed the process. Got to pick every part of the suit with lots of fabric and detail options provided. I always felt in great hands. Never felt pressured to go with one design over the other. Whenever I walked in to the store to look at different colors for suit accessory items or shoes, they were always willing to show me all the possibilities. Best Tailor in town!!! Yes, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I have yet to find another tailor I trust with my favorite clothes as much as Vu! He does a lot of custom tailoring too - I've never purchased any so I can't comment much on the quality from a wearer's standpoint. But the alterations he's made on my clothes have been wonderful. I had a dress that was just too big at the back and needed to be cut shorter. It had a lot of delicate chiffon like material and I was super scared it would get damaged while sowing. But, Vu did an incredible job fixing it up. It fits like a glove and you can't even see a seam that wasn't originally on the dress. He's done several other dresses and hems for me. And I have never left disappointed. Yes, some of the alterations may seem pricey, but they are fairly competitive with other tailors in the area. I really appreciate how well organised he is too! Everything is done much earlier than the time he promises. So when you walk in to pick it up, it's hung ready to go! No time wasted at all. Definitely the best tailor I have seen in DFW. I've had multiple suits, pants, and shirts altered by Vu's, and always with fantastic results. The experience has been so good, that I recently bought a new suit from him - and it's already my favorite suit. The quality is much better than what I would get a Brooks Brothers for the same price, and the fit is more tailored and modern. I want to buy another one! He also makes really fantastic pocket squares out of a heavier silk that stays folded very well. I pick up a pocket square every time I'm there. The wait on alterations can sometimes be long, but it's worth it to have them done right. read more

They need to work on their customer service skills. Dropped off my pants to be altered. Mr Vu told me that it would take a week for them to be done bc they were in the process of moving. He gives me the new address where I should pick up the pants from. I told him no problem and asked him if there was a sign outside his new location so I will be able to identify the store, he replied with "Yes." I drive to the new address 10 days later and am unable to find it. Took me 30 minutes of driving around until I finally find it. The store didn't have a sign as I was told and the windows were tinted so it was hard to see through them. I go inside and Mr Vu tells me my pants aren't done bc they are in the process of moving and that I should be understanding. The entire conversation he didn't offer any solutions and tomorrow I have an interview and need to go out and buy some pants now. Thanks for nothing and I will not be giving you any of my business in the future. You will be better off going to someone that's actually reliable and courteous. read more

I went to see if an old suit could be tailored due to losing 60pounds. Unfortunately, it wasn't cost effective to tailor the suit, but I picked up a new sports coat that was an AMAZING price that fit me perfectly and was much better quality than you get at the 'box' men's stores (e.g., Men's Warehouse, Jos A Bank, etc). Vu was knowledgeable, helpful and has everything a man needs for high-quality, well made and great looking clothes. Jackets and ties look cool inside but service not good. Dropped pants off to put suspender buttons on them and told they would be done in 1 week. Ok, seems like a long time but that's fine. Come back one week later and told they are working on it and need 30 more minutes. I mean come on, I'm not stupid, it takes 30 minutes to put 6 buttons on pants for suspenders. Terrible customer service when there are other tailors all over the place. I'll take my business elsewhere. Update: this place is crazy. This place is fantastic. My groomsmen and I went to go pick out suits and had a phenomenal experience. Within 30 minutes, we had suits picked out, got fitted, and were able to put a deposit down. The price was FANTASTIC as well. 30 minutes was how long we'd just waited to see someone at Men's Wearhouse (even after booking an appointment at our arrival time). These people are dishonest and their work is subpar. I brought a brand new pair of dark jeans to get hemmed because they were to long. I wore it to show them what I wanted done and the owner inspected my jeans and pinned them. After a week I went to pick them up. I tried the jeans on and the length seemed fine. So I paid and walked out of their store wearing my jeans. I go home, take my pants off and put them in my closet with the other pairs of jeans I own. 2 days later I decided to wear those jeans again. However, this time i immediate noticed that something was wrong. On the back of the left leg of the jeans, I see 5 tiny holes giving it the appearance of frayed jean. It clearly looked like something sharp had cut across the fabric. I quickly look at the other side and guess what. There is a hole there too! At once I can tell that it's not something that happened while I was wearing it since something like that would have hurt my leg pretty bad probably requiring stitches. I quickly examined all the other jeans in my closet and those were all okay leading me to conclude that this happened at Vus tailor. At that time my thought was I will let them know and they will offer some explanation. When I went there to show them what had happened at their shop, they totally denied it. They actually had the nerve to imply that I did it myself!! Why on earth would I buy a $150 pair of jeans and then run a blade across one leg. I was in disbelief. They told me I should have noticed it when I picked it up. Of course I wish I had but the major cut was on the back leg and since the pair of jeans is very dark in color, it easily blended in with the wrinkles of the jeans. I am so disappointed at the lack of customer service at this place. I thought I had found my tailor. In all my years of experience with tailors, this is by far the worst. I should have believed the other reviewers that mentioned his bad their customer service is. I was wanting to be a return customer (before I had known what had happened to my pants) and I had already dropped off a sweater earlier like mentioned so coyly by the tailor. I actually did ask for my sweater back which they said they couldn't give it to me because even after a whole week of it being there they hadn't apparently finished. Who wants a half cut sweater back and At that point I was so angry that they could have ruined my sweater just like they ruined my pants and then told me that I had done it Myself and I would have totally expected that of these cheaters. In fact I didn't even step back into their store to pick up my sweater and asked my hubby to do it. So the tailor lies in their response to my review too and honestly it's expected. They should have recorded a video of them working on My pants or let me record one and that would have been a video that would have been telling of something. Not one where I am just walking out the store not knowing what's on the back of the pants because oh yes, I don't have eyes on the back of my head. read more

One of the best tailors in Dallas area for alterations (him and Cantu tailors). Unfortunately, he's far away from me so I only take major operations or to have custom suits ordered (made to measure). While he's done extensive work on different jackets of mine in the shoulder/chest area (toughest area of a jacket to tailor), the most notable job was completely reshaping the upper area of a botched custom sport coat from another tailor. I've had a lot of tailoring done by different tailors, but what he was able to do to fix the shoulders, armhole, and chest was very impressive. He's able to handle complex work in the shoulders, which many tailors would likely not even want to try. On the custom side, he offers a nice line of made to measure through a third party that he will finish/tailor upon arrival. I had one issue with the shoulders of one of the custom orders, but he re-worked it several times to get it right. I would highly recommend him for tailoring and made-to-measure. read more

Visited this tailor, whom I've long trusted with my alterations, a couple weekends ago, however I got turned away due to his need for taking care of alterations for a few weddings that same evening. =O Suggestion . . . Better to place a "closed" sign than turn away one of your loyal followers/clients. Great for his high attention to taking care of these alterations, but why would he wait until the very last minute unless he appreciates working under pressure??? Thankfully for me, my wedding is not one of those few weddings, since not having my clothes ready for that evening's wedding would cause me both pause and pulled hairs! In addition and to make for further pause, Vu had decided to serve another client ahead of me despite his tight turnaround. Therefore, please save both your soon-to-be bride and yourself the trouble and consider another tailor who pays more careful attention towards your special event.
