I recently purchased two "fun" polos for an upcoming trip at Golf Galaxy. However, I didn't like the loose "golf fit." With that said, I did like the fabric pattern and athletic wicking material. I was not taking any chances with these polos since they are for a long overdue vacation my father and I are taking to the Bahamas. The last two alteration shops I have used were worthless. I'm not sure a couple of my shirts had been worked on by one tailor. And, another one had royally botched a different polo beyond repair. Oking is a gentleman. I had a great experience with Oking. I'd lost a significant amount of weight (Yea!) and I had several suits and sport coats which needed to be altered. Basically, he had to re-cut them because I had dropped so many coat sizes and he re-cut the pants to a slimmer, more fashionable drape. He could not have been nicer, got the work done much quicker than I expected and the cost was extremely reasonable, given the amount of work he did. I cannot say enough good things about Oking! He absolutely worked a MIRACLE on a couple of shirts we brought to him. We had previously taken the shirts to a different tailor to have them fitted for my husband. Brand new, tags still on brand name shirts. The other tailor completely butchered the shirts so they were unwearable, and Oking took them and made beautifully tailored shirts! We will be back to have him make a custom shirt at some point, we just don't have a need for that right now. I will say, you get what you pay for. I bought 2 off the rack suits from a generic store, and brought it to these guys to alter. Brought it in on Saturday afternoon and it was ready by Tuesday. I received a leather jacket from my late father and was getting quotes from many different places to see who could keep the jacket as original as possible. After meeting with them I was beyond confident that it would be repaired while keeping the originality of the jacket. In the end he was able to replace the lining while sewing in pieces that every other place was going to throw away. Before, it looked like the lining was torn by a mountain lion attack yet they were able to salvage it and make it look brand new. For reference, the jacket is roughly two decades old and was worn 8 months out of the year. Overall, the job was done beautifully for a competitive price and he was incredibly patient with my requests and adjustments as we worked through the process. The only difference between the old jacket ripped to shreds and the new jacket is the watermark on the lining which is proprietary to the company. However, he did tell me if I was able to find it he would put it in for me. Please go to see him, you will no regret it a single bit. I also go a suit and shirt altered there and the results were superb. This will forever be my tailor because of his attention to detail. Nobody in Dallas does it better than Oking! So, the story goes.. I'm a middle aged man going through a midlife crisis and realizing I've completely lost my mojo. So after weeks of searching online and downloading every clothing shopping app I can find, I'm realizing I'm in more trouble than I realize. I just can't seem to find myself. I was in a pinch to get tuxedo pants hemmed for an event I had the next day and Oking took me in and said he could get it to me the next day. And he did!!! Ok'ing went over styling advice as well as how the suit should properly fit. I got a suit off the rack, yet Ok'ing and his team where able to tailor it to my fit perfectly. And within DAYS! However, they also allow the options of fully building a custom suit.
