I've been shopping at ClothesHorse for almost two decades. Even after moving to Houston 10 years ago, it's still my first stop whenever I'm back in Dallas. Few of the longtime employees remaining truly understand what has made Clothes Horse a Dallas institution. They greet customers, offer assistance, acknowledge people when they enter, and create the kind of upscale shopping experience that keeps customers returning to this gem of a store. Unfortunately, some of the newer employees don't seem to share that same customer-service mindset. The atmosphere feels different, and some of the attention to customers that once set the store apart appears to be fading. With that said, my loyalty to Clotheshorse runs deep, and I continue to have great respect for the manager and the few longtime sales associates. I'm hopeful that the store can recapture the level of service that made it so special for so many years. I'll keep giving it another chance because Clotheshorse has been one of my favorite Dallas shopping destinations for a very long time. read more

This was my first time consigning items at this store, and I was heavily debating doing so after reading other reviews. The first time I came to this location, I went into the store portion. I was greeted politely and directed around the corner to the back, where the appraiser is located. That day, my interaction with that lady was uncomfortable. She had a condescending tone and a bad attitude. She even said one of my items was "jacked" and refused to take it. Overall, it felt like my presence was an inconvenience for her. Against my better judgment, I let her take the other items. Fast-forward about a week, and I decided to pay a small fee to retrieve my items from the store. Once again, I was promptly and warmly greeted by the store staff, who directed me to the appraiser again. It was the same appraiser that was present previously. Again, my presence is an inconvenience to her. I tell her why I'm there, and she tells me to go to the store portion. I tell her they directed me back here, so she calls the store staff via her phone and refers to me as a "little girl." I went back to the store portion and the same staff apologized for the miscommunication, and began helping me retrieve the items I had previously agreed to consign. The remainder of my interaction with her was very pleasant. It is quite disheartening writing a review like this, considering my only reason for doing so was the negative experiences I had with a single person. read more

This was a great store to visit! I am a designer shoe lover and was able to find the perfect pair of Jimmy Choo's at a phenomenal price for the condition - $250 and looked like they had been worn less than 5 times. There was definitely a little of everything and any designer I am interested in. Pro tip - they have a website as well, so if you have something in mind, you can already have it picked out before arriving. Will definitely be going back in the future! read more

Heather was extremely kind. Me and my mom had come in yesterday to purchase a David Yurman chain & my mom was eyeballing a Prada bag but decided to think about it. Returned today because her decision was made & Heather was extremely nice & very helpful. Turned out they have a rewards program you can sign up for with your phone number- every dollar you spend, before tax, is a point & after 1000 points, you receive a 25$ gift card with a purchase of 100$ or more! We had no idea about it. The lady who helped us yesterday was just there. She took my phone number down but didn't care to explain this program or even care to sign me up for rewards. Thanks to Heather, she was able to find my transaction from yesterday & add our points to our newly created account. If we based our experience the first time, I would say go somewhere else, but Heather made it a very enjoyable experience. This location has great stuff. Mostly designer at a very affordable price in my opinion. Very clean. Glad we came back & had a better experience. We will be back just because of her! read more

Enjoy shopping here. There are some good bargains but you have to spend time looking for them. I have been a frequent customer I'm only giving two stars because they permanently closed their restroom and sent me to Natural Grocers, a few doors down, to use theirs. Why in the world would they do this and expect other businesses to provide their own customers a restroom. Very upset to learn they did such a thing, especially at a time I really needed one. I was trying to consign a pair of Louboutins and heard one of the employees say that they SELL the stuff they say they're donating. Then what looked like the owner shushed them. That is so morally wrong and actually a version of stealing. I don't know how they're getting away with this, but do not shop here or consign with them. Truly had the worst experience of my life shopping here and only at the end when I checked out. So terrible that I legit won't be back. The women that rang up my items stopped me before I checked out because I sent a photo of a dress to my mom to see if it was worth purchasing/if she liked it and told me I couldn't do that which I politely agreed to. Her tone was beyond snarky when I was purchasing and I asked her about final sale in case my mother didn't end up liking the way it fit. I have been consigning here for years! Always a pleasure to work with the ladies of CA when dropping off! So convenient as they have several parking spots only for customers! Today I dropped off eleven pair of shoes and a sweater and it took merely minutes and the associate was super friendly! Greeted me immediately and cleared space for me to place my items. Tip*** if you are bringing in clothing, place them on hangars. Makes sorting and itemizing so much easier!!! So easy to consign with this group and a pleasure to shop here as well! First time shopper! Stopped by on Monday before flying out. The store looks nice, clean and the sales associates were wonderful. when its a matching set, it should be sold together unlike what i saw there. Why priced a set different prices? Some of the items were over priced though. Was told photos or videos ain't allowed in the store, which is a good policy for such store.. Later, Saw a lady running around taking pictures, and i was curious and asked why is she allowed to? Come to find out she's Jennifer the Store manager. That was shocking because, she seems more into her phone than helping on the sales floor. She came at the register, talked to one of the associates ringing customers and wasn't even helping her team to ring or any of that. I have consigned with this shop off and on for 10+ years. None of my interactions have been 5 star. While they cannot guarantee your items will be sold, in my case I am surprised that a pair of pristine white Laboutin sling backs with block heel was not sold. The consigners' access site is not updated so the consigner doesn't know what items sold and what did not. The prices are on the high end for consignment, but are reasonable considering they carry mostly high-end brands. CHA has the best selection I've come across in a consignment store. They have a lot of great items and plenty of variety across the clothing spectrum. I try to stop by whenever I'm in this part of town. read more

Staff was nice, the reason for two stars The prices for the condition of items is laughable. I am fairly certain one of the designer bags was priced about the same as it costs brand new directly from the designer - no wonder they don't allow phone calls or pictures of the merchandise! They also have 'as is' defective items and although the tag states as much, the prices were outrages for pieces that would need to be repaired. Based on reviews they have some loyal shoppers but based on the merchandise I saw, I don't understand it. Maybe anything worthwhile was picked over for Christmas gifts? I give 2 stars for a decent pair of Chanel flats I found a few years ago but for the past several years this store carries items that my grandmother would wear! They have always been fair on the prices and have never had a time when I couldn't call and ask a question about the clients billing or pick up times(if requested). You won't have the feeling of a personal dislike of your items from the team that selects and edits thru your clothes. Everyone please be aware that you receive the correct percentage when you sell any item with Clotheshorse Anonymous!!! I was told by Skylar, one of the employees that my % of an item, that sold for more than $5000, was 70%. She even went so far as to give me 70% on my account. I went in person and looked at the print out of levels of percent taken/received according to item pricing/selling. I was suppose to get 80%. Skylar lied to me and tried to get away with it..... They will not take care of your expensive bags if you drop them off. You give them on excellent condition and when they can't buy it or sell it they'll put in in a trash bag! I have a tradition when I travel. Each new state I visit or trip I go on, I head to a consignment shop to pick up something for my collection. This trip I was so excited for Clotheshorse Anonymous and honey I was not disappointed! I will start that this shop seems to run to the more expensive clotheshorse fashion doll. So be aware for your pocketbook because there were so many gorgeous dresses I could barely contain myself. It did help that I'm not quite back down to my size 6 and I had no room left in my suitcase. Oh and I'd only planned to throw $100 at it and busted my budget with the breathtaking emerald summer dress and eye popping pink flower dress I ended up finding. Gag on it. Service was incredibly friendly (people in Dallas sure are friendly!) and I would love love love if this shop were near me. I just wrote a long review and then deleted it. I didn't feel good be totally frank about a store that I have shopped at since the 1990s. I purchased my first suits for work as well as casual clothing then moved up as my appreciation for nice things grew. That being said, I will never consign again. The employees are rude, the checks for clothes I consigned are months late and the idea that I pay you $35 for your lost checks is absurd, and the biggest issue is that you have acted like you were doing me a favor for selling my clothes. I had a box of clothes that I would have normally taken to you. Hermès men's shoes and new Hermès men's sandals, Gucci, Todd's, Burberry, Hermès polo shirts, Ralph Lauren Purple label, etc. I saw an add for the Real Real and emailed them. I bought a Ralph Lauren dress that had a rip in the front of the dress that needed repair in order to be worn. All of the sales associates were aware that it had a rip in the front. However when I inquired about a discount due to the rip and my needing to pay a seamstress for repair, they were adamant that they would NOT give a discount at all. The customer service at the front desk is horrible. The ladies on the floor are very helpful. I would not recommend going to a store that sales damaged clothes for the original price. read more

This is, by far, THE best consignment store in Dallas. I've been to all of them, and rarely find one thing BUT at Clotheshorse Anonymous I never leave empty-handed! Diane is wonderful and helps me whenever I go in, but all the ladies are wonderful. You REALLY need to try stuff on here just in case it's been altered (they try not to take things that have been altered but it's a good rule of thumb to try on at consignment shops). The ladies will give you an HONEST opinion on things you try on, and I LOVE that. I've purchased everything from Seven fancy-colored jeans to Dolce & Gabana cocktail dresses. I've also had great luck with shoes, and if you're a 6-8 1/2, you can't go wrong here. They get TONS of big names in those sizes. Earlier this week I left with 6 new dresses for under $600. Retail value of this "haul" at Neimans (new) would have been about $4200+. I ended up with brands like Kay Unger, Catharine Maladrino, Roberto Cavaelli, and Mark Jacobs in that mix. I also consign with them and they are super-organized and responsive with the consignment process. I'm pleased all-around with both sides of the business. I've been meaning to come to this store for about two years! So I finally go. It's true that they carry some very great labels like Chanel, Prada , etc. I found some lovely Chanel sparkly flats . I didn't get them because they were still $300 , but if you want to spend that, that's a great deal for Chanel. You really have to look through the racks to find something you love. I didn't buy anything , because I didn't see anything that i just had to have. A lot of the items are not edgy, trendy pieces, which is what I typically go for . It's more or less MATURE. If you are into that, then you will love it. I'll try again another time and see what they have :) read more
