I first consigned with ReThreads in 2015 and continued to do so for about four years with clothes from my and my husband's closets. The staff was a joy to work with and the checks I received for items sold was certainly worth it. NOT ANYMORE. I took a basket full of items recently and a separate bag of wooden hangers so I could hang them up before presenting them for review. As I walked through the door, I was first chastised for not having them on hangers (I should have walked out immediately), but instead pointed out that I had a bag with hangers and was going to put them on hangers for her to go through the clothes. I was by myself and it made it easier for me to carry in the basket, then the hangers. With a cursory glance at the first three items, she rejected the entire lot of designer labels. ReThreads is not the same- at all. It is unfortunate. It was once a great destination to sell and shop. I don't know if it changed ownership, but the former staff is what created returning customers. It's just ok. I stopped in looking for cool t-shirts and shorts. Very limited in their t-shirt selection. Shorts felt dated. Nothing in a shorter style like chubbies brand. I don't like shorts down to my knees. The place is super clean. I thought some prices were high esp when you can find more updated things at Nordstrom rack for less. read more

Prices surprisingly a bit on the higher side. We do need to remember that the rent here must be high and they do need a profit and pay employees. With that in mind, please go by. We need more resale shops to do well to bring in more of this kind. Quality is decent. The sales lady was very sweet and helpful. Unfortunately if I can find things common items inexpensive enough, in the one time shopping I didn't buy anything . The selection wasn't large for common sizes but the store is large, so do go by to see if anything works for you. And obviously they get new items daily. read more

Well organized consignment store with prices in the expected range. I'm not giving five stars because it wasn't a fun shopping experience. I've been in about three times now and have never been acknowledged nor purchased anything. I always see others finding and buying multiple items, but they are always skinny minis. I do not care for the fixtures they use for their women's tops. The track on top is too high and the rack on the bottom is too low. I understand that shop space costs money, but this girl can't lift her arms or squat for long periods of time - if I could, I guess I would be one of those skinny gals walking out with full shopping bags. read more

For anyone wanting to consign good clothes here, don't waste your time. I have consigned items in the past and was able to make a little bit of money. I've attempted to consign more clothes here and have been turned away with basically no explanation. Yesterday I tried to consign three dresses (all Tommy Bahama), straight from the dry cleaner and the woman taking in consignments didn't even look at the items by removing the plastic. She couldn't give me a good explanation as to why, so I told her that this was my last time visiting their shop. read more

I was so impressed with the variety of merchandise and especially the excellent customer service. I had walked out of a similar store earlier in the day due to rude customer service. This isn't the first bad experience I've had here, but it definitely will be the last! I took in a brand spanking new Talbots black cashmere sweater in an XS with the tag of $185 still attached. I had accidentally ordered the wrong size online and there was a no-return policy on the sweater since it was a final sale. Along with that, I took in about 20 other clothing items, but all they took was the cashmere sweater, a jean jacket, and two tops. After 4 months, all I got back was a check for $16 and my jacket! Not the other two tops...who knows what happened to them?? $16 for a $185 item! I think these people are cheaters--how do I know what it REALLY sold for? And why wasn't I paid for the other two items or why weren't they returned to me? No one can ever answer my questions. They're crooked--STAY AWAY!! read more

The place is very bad. I used to put sterling silver ring in consignment for years and I never had a problem. I went and put 9 rings in June. This time I did not go in the building I assumed because of covid The lady grabbed the rings out of hand and said they would email me. I called several times trying to get a receipt or status. Finally a lady told me I only had two rings on record. The new staff is flat stealing the inventory. I lost my job because of covid. We are all having a rough time. But honestly Stealing from people you do business with. Waring do not do business with these people. The old staff was wonderful. They will steal from you now! This place is clueless on what is considered good clothing! Took in 7 boxes of high end and mid range clothing and they select 100 plus items.These were the items I thought they would reject. I took everything back as I would never allow them to sell anything of mine. Will donate to a charity over this business!!! This place is additive! You go in looking for one item, and come out wth bags full of great bargains! Not only do they sell gently used, typically high end merchandise, they also usually have a lot of brand new, never even opened, items. I have bought some of my favorite men's high end linen shirts, but also brand new boots, shoes, belts and pants, here. Absolutely the very best consignment shop in Dallas! I have purchased collectors edition shirts, by my favorite designer, Robert Graham, as well as tons of new Polos, Jhane Barnes, Saks 5th Ave, and many other select brands. I wrote a review of this place five years ago. In it I compared Rethreads to Plato's Closet, which is a valid comparison, and I generally came down on the side of Plato's. However, sometime in the last five years, I have changed from being a Plato's shopper to being a Rethreads (and Clothes Mentor) shopper. Maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with entering my 30's and having a child. Congratulations, self, you have officially graduated away from Plato's "teen casual" approximately 10 years after leaving your teens. Now I enter Plato's and think... this is what the kids are wearing these days?? It's still true that there are things at Rethreads that are too "mature" for my tastes (translation - your mom might like it), but it's a good spot for professional and dress clothes. Plato's, Buffalo Exchange, and Clothes Mentor will pay for good quality, updated clothes on the spot. ReThreads consigns, so you would be paid when your item sells. The other thing that brought me back in is that they are one of the only places where you can consign men's clothes. read more

Upscale resale! You will find nicer items here at a steal. That means the $500 dress will be $150. You will find your $50 shirt for $20. One year we came across a purple Mohair coat from Neiman's for $700, originally about $3000. I shop here about every three months when they have their big sales. Get on their mailing list and they will send you a card. When I shop on other occasions it's usually for work clothes or something a little nicer than when I hit Buffalo Exchange or Plato's Closet. Don't get me wrong, this place is great. It's really savvy clothes at a great reduced price. I've bought lots of pieces here. This place is a complete fraud scheme. After consigning my clothes with them, they claim to have mailed a check on 4/15 that has yet to arrive. Instead of being helpful, I had to call and go into the store no less than 10 times until they finally offered to write me a new check but deduct a $30 stop payment fee, acting like it was my fault. Furthermore, they acted like they were doing me a favor by "believing" that I did not receive the check. They should know that as the money clearly has not come out of their bank account. I question if they ever mailed the check in the first place. Never do business with this place unless you want to donate your clothes and never receive a penny. No welcoming of customers when I entered the store. I did not feel welcome there. Merchandise was basic with some high end but I had little interest of buying any of it as staff was not friendly whatsoever. I would never return here or consign my high end goods. Off to clothes horse anonymous where they are pleasant and greet all customers whether they look like they can afford to shop there or not. For your information I am a healthcare professional and have treated MD's, Dentists , and attorneys so yes I am paid well and can afford to shop in your store. Looking for high end clothing at great prices? This place is it! Mostly newer, name brands, no junk. Not your typical consignment shop. People are very nice and helpful. Open Sundays! Yay! My go to place for blue jeans - Hudson, seven for all mankind, true religion jeans for around $30 and most look new. Try this place, you'll be hooked. Have never consigned here. This has become one of my weekly stop offs on the weekend. The catch is that it is consignment so you are always going to be limited to what people bring in. You have to THINK like a consignee to get the good stuff. Weeks prior to holidays and big days off usually are the best to get good stuff. The first weekend of every month they do ADDITIONAL percentage off so thats the best time to go. They have a interesting selection. Most of the suits/sportcoats are going to be older 3 button style, but they have a few top end items too (Canali, Zegna, Hickey, etc). Almost everything there is barely used, or at least looks that way. The shoes are hit and miss, and most are very worn. There is a HUGE selection of long sleeve woven shirts with a big variety of brands. High end stuff down to $5 to $15 shirts.. Good options in polo style shirts and an ok selection of shorts and swimwear. They have coats, overcoats, loungewear, and travel gear (think TUMI luggage). The staff is AWESOME and the dressing rooms are always open although a bit hot. The womens section is ridiculous. I venture over there now and then for the wife, but it would take hours just to look through it all. Quite a large selection of womens boots and purses as well. Overall if youre looking for a good consignment place, this is the spot.. Have yet to venture out to any others in Dallas. read more

You might find what you're looking for, but be prepared to search for it (not very organized ), and pay for it (overpriced)! When I think of thrift stores, I think of bargains. This isn't so much the case here. They have high end clothing mixed right in with what the average person can afford. I remember falling in love with a white blouse, only to discover it was priced at $90! Ummm....No! The only benefit I see to shopping here is location, and the HUGE men's selection. I found this place way too expensive. I don't agree with the idea that an item that originally cost $150 brand new should be sold at a vintage/thrift store for $85. I expect to pay no more than 30% of the original price. They have a large inventory, but after 20 minutes of browsing, I left without buying a thing. And that's rare for me... read more

I made several phone calls inquiring about the process for bringing in clothes for consignment. I drove 15 miles for the staff to spend less than 5 minutes reviewing my items. Most of the items were men's Tommy Bahama and Polo brand clothing that were barely worn and always dry cleaned. They selected to not accept any of my items. Not sure if they only want new items, but if so they should advertise that and present themselves as a Resale Shop. I recommend donating to a charity rather than allowing this shop to profit off your time and money. read more

This is a wonderful store. Kevin, the sales clerk, was so helpful and nice and made my experience even more wonderful. The clothes are nicely organized, CLEAN, and in good shape and that made shopping so much more fun. The shoes were wonderful too. The best part was the PRICES! I loved their prices, very reasonable. I don't think anyone could complain about their prices EVER. The merchandise is priced to move quickly, which means if you love it you better buy it because it will probably be gone the next day. If an item needs a little repair they have a tailor to fix it for free for you. SWEET! I will go there regularly now. I am a big fan of this store. read more

A pricier Plato's closet. For some reason I thought this was like a thrift store, but the prices here were higher then most department stores. At first I thought the prices were "suggested retail" but then, to my horror, I realized they were really asking $80-$220 for a shirt! I didn't recognize the brands on most of the stuff there so maybe some of that stuff is super high end, either that or they just think very highly of their products... I was looking for something I was going to cut up and make into a Halloween costume, so I guess this isn't the place for that. I just don't see how someone could charge so much for USED clothing and the stuff wasn't even that nice, a lot of it I could probably find at a thrift for a fraction of the price. Maybe its because thrift stores don't really know what they're selling, but I don't think these people know either seeing as how outrageous their prices are. I'd only recommend this place if you shop at high end stores like Neiman Marcus or something, maybe you'd recognize the obscure brands, but if you're a regular JCPenny, Macy's, or Dillards shopper, stay far away... read more

A complete waste of my time. I drove from ft worth bringing over 100 items of men's clothing to them and they kept 7 pieces. I spent more money in gas than I will make from selling 7 items. All the clothing was Ralph Lauren, underarmour, Tommy bahama, expensive suits, golf shirts, name brand jeans, etc. all in mint condition! This is clearly NOT an upscale resale boutique. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE TO SELL TO !!!!! I walked away with $13 after having a 535.00 consignment they gave me be back 7 items out of 16.. they said they mailed a check for $93.. I never got it , along with 4 other checks from the past.. NORMALLY I DON'T care it's just old clothes and shoes from clearing my closet but this time I decided to call them out... " WELL YOUR JUST GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT 6 MONTHS BEFORE WE CAN MAIL OUT A NEW ONE " and then HUNG UP IN MY FACE!!!!! wow !!! How professional was that?????? IT WASNT!!!! It seems this place has built up the reputation of mediocre service with horrible attitudes. I decided to go in for the first time and look around yesterday. I can tell you, their reputation indeed preceded them. I walked in and cheerfully said hi and the woman gave me an annoyed grimace and looked the other way. The clothes were okay but her attitude put a cloud over the place. Like, no one forced you to work here so what's the problem? Do you not like black people coming in to shop? Do you think we're going to steal from you or something? Such a turn off. I even decided to say goodbye when I was done looking around, wished her a good evening and she gave me an "alright..." Pitiful. This is not how you work retail and it damn sure isn't how you treat people. I might come back but I will not tolerate any disrespect as a customer from people who are at work and I won't be so nice next time. Get it together. read more
