It's a beautiful boutique, and I've been here several times in the past. In the past, the clerks were friendly and helpful. I went two weeks ago and found several items I wanted to purchase, but I needed assistance. Several clerks were helping other customers. I tried to get the attention of quite a few clerks who seemed to be doing inventory. I was never greeted or acknowledged, so I left after about fifteen minutes. It was very disappointing. I really wanted to purchase two items from the boutique: a Lanvin bag and some gorgeous pearl and citrine earrings. Oh well! read more

Such WONDERFUL a customer service! I went in looking for and dress for my Neice. With the pandemic we definitely were casually dressed. As soon as we walked in, several of the staff asked if we needed any help. The manager Nerissa and Karen were so helpful, and we found the perfect outfit. They have all of the recognizable high end designers as well as the newer Scandinavian ones. My Neice had heard of them and she was definitely impressed. My sister came into town to look for a rehearsal dinner dress for her daughter's wedding. Several staff members passed us several times and didn't acknowledge us. It felt like the people that got help were people they knew. If that's the only clientele they need to stay in business then congratulations. But everyone else that may not be their regular clientele should shop elsewhere. I apologized to my sister that I even made the suggestion to shop there. Of course we can get these same pieces elsewhere and with more personal service. We live in the neighborhood but won't be back nor will I encourage anyone else to go. She and her husband had been in contact with each other several times, and she had a room full of tiles for me to Tryon that were absolutely perfect! I have recently discovered Tootsies and I am now a huge fan! Our sales associate, Sarah, was amazing! She has helped me several times find outfits I needed to add to my wardrobe. Her knowledge of designers, trends, and clothing is second to none! She knows younger trends but also was able to help my 70 year old Mom find some stylish, yet age appropriate tops that look fabulous and flattering. I especially loved the great sale rack where I got some great pieces at very reasonable prices! Sarah has always followed up with me promptly on sizes I was looking for as well as informing me when my alterations came in. I highly suggest that when you go to Tootsies ask for Sarah! How am I the first to review this place? Okay, so I'm torn. I love love love the inventory a la Tootsie's. They always carry special pieces and, let's face it, you don't have to go to a mall to get the goods. Tootsie's has a great selection and I love their shoes! However (and that's a BIG however), the staff is rude. I realize they work in a high-end boutique, they have upscale clientele, blah blah blah, but I have never seen a more overtly haughty staff in all my life. They look right at you, ignore you, or even give you "a look". Now, I'm not a super model and I don't drive a Rangie, but I DO have money and I would LIKE to spend it there. I will still shop there, but some of these ladies need an attitude check. read more

I do not appreciate walking into a store and being stared down and never asked if I need help. In fact a courteous "hello" would be appropriate. But I only got the stare down. I've seen Tootsie's many times, driving past on Preston but honestly, never felt a need to go in. Last night, I wandered in for an event hosted by Friends of the Park. The clothes were fantastic... all the high end brands, nicely displayed and sorted by designer. I like the openness of the lay-out and the flow of the store. I didn't care for the event or the staff... none of the staff welcomed me (the most I got was a tight smile from a male sales associate), the patrons were very cliquish, I wasn't even offered a drink but then again, I didn't see anyone being offered a drink. A few employees that were there, and a few were in a circle talking and when I went towards them, they moved to another area entirely (after starring my outfit up and down), which I found a bit awkward and rude. It was probably one of the most unwelcoming social events and stores I've ever been to. The only bright spot was the photographer they hired who was very friendly and welcoming. I went in yesterday at around 2pm looking for a dress for an upcoming important engagement a little on the defensive side after reading the reviews stating the employees give judge-y looks and poor service based off the clothes you're wearing and wow! I was surprised and glad I went in! As soon as my mom and I walked in an employee greeted me and asked what she could help us with. I explained that I was looking for formal gowns and she directed me to their second floor and added that someone would be up to help us. I browsed around for a bit and shortly a stylist by the name of Mela came up to us and asked us about my event, style preference, Size etc. She showed me some recommended selections and trends and started me a fitting room. While I was trying on she quickly asked for my shoe size and brought me a pair to try on with the dresses. She was around the whole time! While I was deciding on my purchase she brought us water bottles. When it was time to pay and leave she double checked the sensors on the dress were off via both exits and walked us out to the door. I have to add I was wearing my work jeans, an oversized sweater and messy hair and sneakers! It might just be who you get that day but I didnt have a bad experience. Perhaps they have re-trained their staff after seeing the poor reviews? Who knows! I will recommend this store and will definitely shop here first before trying the competition. (Psst!! I literally left this store less than an hour ago. I am on the hunt for a bridesmaid dress- we women know how it goes.. so, I walk in- a gentleman greets me and then walks away. Ok no biggie. I LITERALLY walked every INCH of this store- early afternoon on a Saturday and NO ONE offered to help me. NO ONE. I walked to the shoes, all dresses, designer clothing and nothing. I walked the F back out. I'm dressed casually (because I can while I shop) - leggings + sweater + flip flops- on a mission and there was no service to even evaluate here. Maybe my wallet was judged on my attire BUT I just checked the other poor reviews- and yep- I'm not alone. Never will I spend a dime here or visit on my own accord again. walked next door into double R clothing - wandering around- IMMEDIATELY greeted, and willing to offer service. We shop here for dresses several times a year. We were offered free alterations on a dress by our sales associate. When we just picked up the dress, we were told we owed $50 for the hemming. The sales associate completely denied offering us free alterations. The staff was not friendly about the situation nor helpful. I would have used my regular alteration place where hemming charge would have been $30. read more

Great clothing. Poor staff. In a town where there are lots of options, Tootsie's is completely substitutable because the staff is horrendous. The store is typically not crowded yet the staff stand around talking to each other without asking if you need help. I have to admit, I am by no means rich. My mother and I, along with my daughter went in there looking for a prom dress. We had been to another store and the selection was too big and crowded. I was in Jeans, boots and some kind of shirt. They welcomed us with open arms. Offered us wine and helped my daughter try everything she looked at. One of the staff ended up pulling the dress my daughter went in there for, and told us a women had ordered it from Houston and never showed up.
