Spicy hot but it's not bad at all
Robert C.

Went with my coworkers to the HMart food court and we shared the 20 wing set. Wings were spicy but not outrageously hot. Meat was moist, outside was crispy and saucy and full of flavor. Be prepared for a short wait due to the double frying but it's worth the wait. Cashier was friendly too.

My daughter and I walked 2 Museums today so we were super hungry. Our main dishes were bulgogi japchae and seafood tofu from Jeong's K Food but we wanted a side also. So we ordered the dumplings. It was decent and my daughter liked it.

Fast service, clean eating area, good food. Several kinds of appetizers and wings and sauce. There are combinations , just in case you can't decide. You can choose the size you want, single, up to party size. Sauce is great - we liked both the sweet ones and hot ones.

Crispy boneless chicken

I ordered the crispy boneless chicken wings. It was indeed, crispy even after being covered while hot on the way home. Taste was okay, was hoping to be more tasty. Service was great and the guy in the counter was kind enough to walk out and give me napkins and utensils on my table. It had less crowd on a Thursday, just after lunchtime.

Spicy Chicken Bone In

Craving Korean Fried Chicken while at H-mart so decided to order here. I got the bone-in spicy wings and it took a while for the food to be ready (15ish minutes). With that said, it was totally worth the wait. At first glance, the chicken looks more like soy garlic due to its brown glaze, but upon tasting, it was definitely the spicy flavor. It wasn't super spicy, but just enough to be labeled as such. The chicken was super juicy and still crunch despite being coated in the sauce (which a lot of places can't accomplish). Overall a solid spot and sad that its a bit far out from the city so I can't come as often.

Soy Garlic and Honey Butter Garlic are not good. Soggy fried chicken. Korean Fried Chicken is supposed to extra crispy. Even the chicken at Kentucky Fried Chicken is better/crispier. I ordered the Large, 15 pieces, classic bone-in with two sides for $34. The breast and thigh pieces are cut in half to count as another piece. What Left Wing is good at is speed. My order was ready in nine minutes at lunchtime on a Tuesday.

Honey and Ginger Wings

I came in to H mart with my friends to check out the food court. It was very crowded with all the tables basically taken. They have seats to eat in for people eating there and the restaurants surrounding. It is good that they have. A system that calls out where the food you ordered came from and a number is on the screen. When I saw the Chicken Wing place, I was gravitated to order their Ginger and Honey Wings. I asked the cashier which one was best or she liked and she said it depends on your taste on whether you like it dried or with sauce. I opted for with sauce which was the 8 wings for $16.99. It was pricey for the amount of wings but it was a good amount when I saw it. It was piping hot when I got it. But when I tasted it I was a disappointed because the flavor was there and tender but the wings were not crunchy. If they were, it would have been a good crunchy fried chicken. I am not sure if I would come back to buy the chicken.

medium fried chicken 8pc (bone in, sweet and spicy)- 17.99$, tax- 1.55$

Bone in sweet and spicy chicken wings: Fall off the bone tenderness, more sweet than spicy, not really spicy at all but also not too sweet yet very flavorful, very sauced up but doesnt get all iver your face, just the lips ha ha, crispy skin, skin can be a little chewy. Honestly was a jaw work out Good food, maybe I overhyped it but expected more so 4/5

Super mixed feelings about this place. Found a hair in our chicken, but that seems like it could be from someone walking by.. the food court setup is pretty cramped and the worker inside seems to be wearing a hat so idk... The Korean fried chicken here aren't fried well.. it's more soft than crispy. However, their prices are pretty affordable for what you get (compared to other KFC places).

I ordered a nashville style chicken sandwich meal (but they forgot to give me my soda), soy garlic chicken wings, and onion rings. The chicken sandwich was amazing. Onion rings needed something and I haven't tried the wings yet. The service was ok(I guess). I ordered while I was shopping in Hmart. The lady didn't really look like she wanted to be bothered or answer any questions. There is no ambiance because it's location in a food court inside of HMART.

Food is really good. especially when you're hangry on an Easter Sunday Service is pleasant Ambience is cafeteria in a shopping center. lol do not have high expectations. It is Self service and bus your own trays. Food is great. I had the 2 flavors fried chicken. Original and soy garlic mixed. Good call. JYW recommends!

Soy garlic (spicy)

I was craving some Korean Fried chicken and was shopping at H Mart so checked this place out I'm their food court area. I wanted a bit of spice so I ordered the spicy soy garlic which was only truly spicy if you bite into the chili flake (my husband said he needed milk lol). When you order a chicken dish, it comes with a side, I got the pickled radish which paired up nicely with the chicken. Because I got eh bone in, it took a bit longer but once it came out, it was piping hot and super crispy. Really yummy and huge drumsticks. Staff is friendly and establishment is clean and organized. Small seating area so had to wait for someone to finish before I could get a table. However, didn't have to wait long because I got a table right in front.

While shopping at H-mart we got the munchies. So we found Left Wing in the adjoining food court. We ordered the Med Crispy boneless honey garlic wings. We also chose a side a fries that comes with medium orders. This is definitely a good value from a price and taste standpoint. And what other criteria is there? LOL. I definitely recommend this spot.

Large Fried Chicken, boneless ($25). Pass on the house sauce (too liquidy = mushy chicken) and pickled daikon.

Yes, it is one person doing everything, but he's super sweet and thorough. So, have patience coming here. Restaurants probably can't afford more labor when their own costs of food, labor, rent and insurance is so high. With that said, the food is expensive. However, the items we ordered were delicious, clean, fresh, and authentic. Ginseng chicken soup was made with love. Can't find this dish in most Korean spots! Longer wait time because it takes longer to make. Meat fell if the bone, stock was rich and not salty! You can salt it yourself! Mackerel was tasty and juicy. Probably, the best pan fried mackerel I've had. The mungbean pancake was good but not for the price. Side dishes were decent. Kimchee could be better. Location is in the heart of Japan town! That's rare. Mother approved and we will be coming back again!

And the Spicy Calamari & Bulgogi was actually $20 higher (!!!) than what's listed on Yelp (no prices on website), so find this pretty misleading. It was also overcooked, so bummer all around. Took a chance on this Japantown fav and left wishing I'd purchased basically anything else there. Apparently I'm not alone, while all the other restaurants were bustling on a busy Sunday evening, this one was virtually empty.

That could be a good or bad thing depending on the vibe you are going for. All the dishes hit their mark for me. We got: Mulhwae: very refreshing white fish sashimi with refreshing greens, citrusy sauce and strawberries. I thought the strawberries added more to the presentation than the taste. However, the dish itself was delicious. Scallops and shrimp: Similar as above, a very refreshing light appetizer. I would get either this of the other because they're kind of the same idea. Potato fritter w/ mentaiko: probably my top 1 or 2 of the night. Think fancy hashbrown with creamy umami pollock row plus more crispy toppings. This is a must-have I would say. Soft tofu soup w/ galbi: I liked the theatrical element of pouring the home-grown soy from Oakland to create the tofu right in front of you. The umami broth and the jang make this dish very rich. Another must have! Pork jowl bossam: this was a delicious take on bossam. Smokey soft jowl. The greens and kimchi accompanied it made this dish taste so healthy while satisfying your craving. If you just love buttery soft tender meat, go for it. However if you like jowl because you like the chew/bounce on every bite, you might be disappointed because this meat is super soft! Drinks: matcha colada was a little too coconuttey for me. It kind of overpowered the taste of any matcha but if you like coconut, this is a perfect visually pleasing and sweet dessert cocktail. The lychee blossom had a pleasant taste of fruit and almost tasted like there was yogurutoo or calpico in it. I much preferred this drink and it was on the sweeter side too. Overall pleasant experience, worth taking some guests or a date. Also we got 4-5 dishes but left super full! We probably would've been fine with 1 or 2 appetizers less.

The portions were on the smaller side so had we ordered an extra dish or two, I think we would've been very full. We ordered about 3 appetizers, 3 mains and 3 desserts and it was just about perfect. All of the dishes had well rounded flavors and super tasty. The matcha dessert was my favorite! I do have a natural sweet tooth but the presentation and overall execution was cool.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy. Idk if it's worth coming back here.
