Highly disappointed. Tried BHC in Korea and it was 2x better. I had high hopes when I saw it come to the states. Located inside the hmart food court, love that they have a self ordering kiosk. Lots of tables to sit at. The menu in America only had 5 flavors compared to Korea where they had 10+. The chicken here was not breaded carefully. All my breading came right off when I pick up the chicken. Unsure why they added their Bburinkle flavor to the states as it's very niche and has a strong tumeric aftertaste. I would have expected they bring their golden flavor into the U.S. as it's very to eat and caters to all sorts of palette. Definitely could have been replaced with the golden flavor instead. Pricing wise, although it seems high, it is very fair for the price value of the wings being about $2.50/piece if you order the biggest meal size
Grandkids wanted to try the new BC Chicken inside H Mart food court. New fried chicken spot. Although pretty good, does not compare to the chicken we tried on our trip to Korea. We let the grandkids order and they choose 5 pieces tender, 8 pieces Bburinkle wings, and cheese balls. Chicken was tender and moist. The chicken tenders had a bite but not too spicy. The cheese balls were very good. The do not accept cash! Overall the grandkids enjoyed the chicken as it was tasty and moist. We also ordered from another kiosk at the food court so the chicken went well with it. The kids enjoyed the fried chicken so although BHC on pricey side, it was worth it!
Ordered the hot bburinkle tenders (4 pieces) after seeing it hyped up as popular from Korea. Came with four pieces and was crunchy on the outside but not oily. Came with gochujang and the seasoning itself wasn't that spicy - maybe more sweet. Chicken was tender and moist. Texture more on the nugget side. It was a good snack to try. Order at the counter and pickup to bring home or eat at the food court. I ordered, did some grocery shopping, then picked up.
It's my first time trying Bbhurinkle powder on chicken, fries, and mozzarella balls. I loved it so much that I went back three days in a row. The price is a little bit steep, but it's definitely worth trying since it's from Korea and it's the first location in the Bay Area. It makes it so much better that it's inside the SF Hmart food court, you can shop for groceries while you wait for your chicken. I'd definitely recommend getting it with their sweet and spicy sauce. Also try getting it hot if you like some spice on your food.

As typical in food courts, the atmosphere is casual--order, find a seat, and wait. We ordered the original 6-piece fried chicken, which was delicious with an excellent crunch. I recommend this place for juicy fried chicken.

Touted as Korea's #1 KFC franchise, BHC stands for "Better & Healthier Choice" or "Better & Happier Choice" for their use of high-oleic sunflower oil to fry their chicken. They have an entire lab dedicated to studying chicken so they mean business. BHC's first bay area location is inside H Mart's food court. M E N U KFC available in wings, tenders, or a sandwich. They also have kimchi fried rice, tteokbokki, crispy buns (panko coated), cheese balls, and sides (rice, coleslaw, fries etc). - Specialty flavor: Bburinkle - cheese powder w/ garlic and onions. - Other flavors: Classic, Hot Fried (spicy classic), Hot Bburinkle, Matcho King (aged soy), Gold King (soy garlic w/ honey) and Sweet & Spicy (yangnyeom). - Sauces: Lemon yogurt, bburinkle mayo, hot bburinkle mayo, sweet habanero, ranch (mass produced), and more. NOTE: Sadly, they've been sold out of wings since yesterday afternoon (24+ hours) and waiting for their supply. They cannot get wings from H Mart. They don't provide any complimentary sauces with the chicken tenders -- you have to pay extra for each one. At the very least, one sauce should be included with every order. No cash accepted. F O O D * 4 pc Chicken Tender ($10.99) Freshly cooked and shatteringly crunchy, the double-fried tenders had a thin, airy batter but the meat was a bit dry, as to be expected for white meat. Not oily or greasy. - Half "Hot Bburinkle" As someone that dislikes artificial powders including Buldak, I was worried this would taste like KFC coated in radioactive kraft cheese powder. But since it's their top-selling flavor, I figured I'd give it a try. Surprisingly, it was very good with a savory sweetness and warming heat that lingers. The bleu cheese adds a bit of umami funk. Without the heat from the chili powder, I can imagine the regular bburinkle being too sweet. I get the hype, it just works. - Half "Hot Fried" Lightly seasoned with hints of garlic and slow building heat. * Sauces ($1.49 each): - Lemon yogurt: Too sweet, no citrusy tang. - Matcho King: Missing from my order. - Sweet habanero: Missing from my order. * Cheese Balls (6 pc - $7.99) Fried mochi-like dough filled with stretchy, melty mozzarella cheese (donut hole sized). The dough was too sweet; would probably taste better dipped in the rose tteokbokki's spicy cream sauce tho. Glad I tried it once but more of novelty to capture "cheese pulls". S E R V I C E Very friendly. They fry everything to order so expect a 20-30 minute wait. Online orders to come. Overall, what stands out is BHC's awesome airy, crunchy batter and unique flavors. Four stars for now until I can try their wings.
Great prices and great quality fried chicken here at the Hmart mall. Came on a weekday after work and food was served super quickly. They're out of the hot cheese wings so I'd definitely want to come back to try, but chicken was overall juicy and flavorful. Good bites if you like cheese flavored wings and don't need a large variety! Decent pricing too
Been waiting for a BHC in the bay area for a loooong time!! A lil sad that it's not in the south bay but made the trip up to try it. The bburinkle cheese balls were def a hit and we also got half and half wings of the classic fried and bbyrinkle. The chicken was good!
We went on a weekend afternoon and they had a 30min wait. We ordered the food at the kiosk and shopped at H Mart, then went back to pick up the food. The bburinkle chicken wings (topped with signature cheese seasoning) were super juicy & crispy. The tenders were also good but the wings were better, and the Hot Bburinkle was actually pretty spicy! I liked the cheese seasoning flavor so much that I didn't even need the dipping sauces. I also loved the cheese balls' chewy, mochi-like dough. The bburing french fries were soggy. Service was friendly, but they were really busy. Great addition to the K-Town Food Hall!
Another Korean fried chicken spot -- sign me up! Bburinkle: cheese, onion, garlic -- let's go! I like it spicy, the spicier the better so we got the Hot Bburinkle wings 5 for $14 and Red star sandwich $12. The trick is to come here right when they open so you don't have to wait and all the tables are open at 11am. It's a little pricey to be honest, considering Popeye's has a chicken burger that's $6. This is double the price but I did really like the wings so I'd definitely be back to buy a bigger box! What I like about these wings is that it comes whole: drummette, flat and tip -- spice level could be hotter for me but I think it's pretty good for the average person. If you're a fan of those msg packets inside buldak noodles, you'll love BHC chicken for sure
Came here at Fourth of July, to check out the food court. I came around at 5:30pm the line wasn't as bad as it is. I got their 13 pieces of wings and tender. It was very flavorful sweet and spicy at the same time. I have never knew it have taste so good. You can taste the sweetness n juicy in the chicken wing. You couldn't stop eating it. The store was in food court but is small but is not bad. Is pretty easy to order from the kiosk, and the staff was very friendly.
Solid chicken made at the time you place your order which we have had in the past. 5 piece Chicken came out a crispy dark brown color and when taking that first bite the inside was moist and juicy. Highly recommend BHC when you are at H Mart and want some Korean style chicken.
The food here is decent. My kids absolutely love it and can't get enough of it, but it just wasn't really for me. It's a fun spot to bring the family, but the flavors are definitely geared more toward a younger crowd. Glad the kids enjoyed it, but I probably wouldn't crave it myself

New Korean fried chicken spot opening up inside the H Mart food court. You order at the kiosk and pickup your chicken. The fried chicken was actually very good. The exterior was crispy and batter was not too thick. The chicken itself was juicy, not too oily, and the meat tasted like it has been seasoned. Wasn't too salty either. The chicken does appear to the more on the expensive side at $14 for 5 pieces of wings, and you are really getting small wings here. You are not getting any big drumsticks here! 10 pieces of wings with set you back $27. They also offer chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders but did not try those today. read more
Was so excited when I saw they FINALLY opened a BHC chicken spot in SF! Stopped by to visit HMart and ordered the cheese balls, seasoned fries and spicy cheese fried chicken flavor. Honestly, I was pretty bummed as it truly was underwhelming. I do think it tastes way better in Korea and the cheese balls were def under seasoned. The fries were soggy and warm. Chicken was way too spicy and kind of dry. Portions were also on the smaller side. Don't think i'll be relying on the US location to recreate such delicious chicken! read more

Thank you Cherylynn for posting her review. We didn't know a BHC Chicken opened in SF. We had their 16 piece Bburinkle wings $35, 4 piece hot Bburinkle tenders $11 and cheese balls $8. My friend who just came back from Seoul said the menu here is truncated. It is missing some flavors and the whole chicken option. The chicken here is good and we enjoyed it. The batter wasn't thick like Bonchon's. The hot Bburinkle is better than the regular Bburinkle flavor because we like hot wings. If you are dining in, they don't have plates. The guy did give me an extra empty box for me to put the bones in. When we went at 6:20pm, there was a horde of people waiting. Wait was 20 minutes. They could benefit from a better pick-up system. Like a text system or a number display monitor. Service was excellent. read more
Came here to get the chicken to go which was great. I feared for how long the wait was since there was about 5 people ahead of us. The service was pretty quick - waited about 15-20 minutes for our order. we got the chicken tenders, 10 piece wings fried chicken , spicy 5 piece wing, bburing cheese balls and their bburing yogurt sauce. It is in an h mart but there is a decent amount of seats. read more

We got the 5pc chicken wings combo. The chicken wings themselves and the Bburinkle cheese powder dusting were tasty. But don't bother with the fries and drink combo for +$9. The fries were lukewarm and stale. Overall just overpriced and not worth it. Have had much better Korean fried chickens at other places like Vons and Bonchon. read more
Food was amazing, I never had a flavor profile like this before! The manager was very kind and spoke with us while we were eating and he was very kind. They opened last friday May 1st so just recently. This spot replaced the Left Wing location in the H Mart but this is incredible and highly recommend if you happen to be in the area! read more

The chicken is very good! if you order online there's almost no wait and you will spend your time looking for parking in the Hmart parking lot. The spicy was probably too spicy and we will not get it next time but we will definitely order from here again. Taste, texture all great. read more

I went to the BHC in Korea, so I was ecstatic to find one in my backyard at HMart. Ordering is through a screen. I got the 8-piece wings flavored Hot Fried and the 5-piece Bburinkle tenders, plus a side of King Sauce for an additional $1.50. Food came fairly quickly after ordering on a Saturday at 12 p.m. Everything was packaged nicely. However, you will have to ask for utensils; only napkins are provided. Everything was packaged nicely with openings, so when I arrived home, the chicken was still crispy. For paying for the sauce, the container was barely full. The King Sauce flavor is a slightly thick galbi-type flavor with hints of garlic Hot tenders were similar to Popeyes tenders. Spice level was mild. The wings were juicier compared to the tenders, and the Bburinkle dry seasoning was mustardy and delicious. Waiting for food was kind of awkward, looking at the screen to know if your order was ready and standing around all the tables of people eating. Overall, I am glad we have this KFC close by, but it was better in Korea. read more
