I wouldn't say that Lee's has the best Banh Mis in terms of taste, but they are very generous with their portions. As my favorite banh mi restaurants have been closed because of COVID, I have been regularly going to Lee's about once or twice a week all month. They have remained open the whole time, and service has been consistent each time. You can call in your order and pick it up or come to store to order. Their service is very quick, friendly, and easy to order. Their sandwiches are a little more pricey than other places, but they also have the buy 5 get 1 free offer. I've been getting 12 sandwiches for $38.50 which is a pretty great deal. You have the option to get vegetables on the inside or outside. A lot of places don't give you enough when you ask for it on the side, but Lee's gives plenty. The meat portions are way more than any other place I've been. Even though toppings are plentiful, I do have to add some soy sauce when I get home because it's not as flavorful as I'd like it to be. Maybe because they give so much meat and vegetables, which I'm not complaining about! Their bread is also really soft. I wish they toasted it a little or it was a little more crunchy. This place is an absolute gem! No frills, straight forward and DELICIOUS. The bahn mi are amazing - I've tried the chicken, egg, and pork versions that I've loved. As a Bahn Mi lover we heard this was one the best spots in ATL and were eager to try! We ordered take out and it was very reasonably priced but flavor wise was a little disappointing. As vegetarians we tried tofu sandwhiches which had very tasty vegetables and cilantro but the bread tasted a little stale and was overall pretty dry. Not bad but not the best I've had! We also took Thai iced teas which never disappoint. The vegan soup was interesting- served as a container of broth with the veggies/noodles packaged separately which we were able to assemble on our own at home. From 8AM to 8PM, except Monday's, they're open from 8AM to 3PM. - Homey feel. The staff are so kind and it feels like you're coming for a home-cooked meal. - The drinks. They definitely know how to make their Thai Tea and Viet coffee. - Prices. Definitely competitive, if not cheaper than many other Viet restaurants. I also love that they offer a pho and banh Mi combo. The Not so Good: - Taste. I wasn't too impressed with their pho or banh mi. I felt that the pho (I usually get pho dac biet) was too watered down, and I ended up having to add a lot of hoisin sauce to give it more flavor. Banh mi wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special, and it seemed smaller than some other places. But $3.55 banh mi isn't bad, and they offer the Buy 5 Get 1 Free deal. Overall, I guess I would recommend Lee's if you're wanting cheaper Vietnamese food or if one of your other favorite places are closed. I love that Lee's is almost always open. I NEED MORE STARS TO GIVE! I love this place and can't wait to come back. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food then Lee's Bakery is the place. The place was packed which is always a good sign and I'm assuming everyone wanted pho due to the cold weather so we walked up and there was a small line outside we noticed it was for takeout so we walked in and were able to be seated instantly. Our server came back after seating with water and took our order. We started with some apps and went into the entree. Food: The chicken wings were crispy and seasoned to perfection. The egg rolls were also very fresh and tasty. I enjoyed them with the house fish sauce. My favorite was the Beef Pho it was soooo good. It just felt warm and cooked with love. This is a great local spot on Buford highway. It is a go to for us for a quick easy lunch of Bahn Mis. Really the only thing we get there and usually grab and go as sandwiches and they are delicious. There are a variety of options. I stick with grilled pork, my wife prefers the chicken but they are a delight. If you haven't had a bahn mi they are light sandwiches with a crunch but slightly chew bread and then loaded with fresh vegetables (carrot, cucumber, cilantro, etc). That give it a nice lightness that pairs well with the protein of choice. Reasonably priced and have a buy 5 get one free which we have taken advantage of many times. I came here in the afternoon on a Saturday and the place was pretty full. There was also a long line to order to-go, which happens to be the same line for diners to pay their bill. Parking was easy in their shared lot and there is a large bin of baguettes for sale right by the front door. I saw a few people buying just baguettes and setting cash on the counter instead of waiting in line, so this seems to be accepted. I ordered a few banh mis, the special to be exact. They have a discount if you take it to-go, so that is what I did, which I had planned on anyways. We have been going to this place for many years. It's consistently good. The quality is quite fresh and good. My favorite is of course the banh mi cold cuts which is their specialty. I buy extra pate and then make my own mayo to add to the sandwiches when I eat it at home. I feel like their mayo is not eggyolky enough for me. I also add some Maggi soy sauce. I've really been on a roll with trying out restaurants I've never had, in 2023. This evening, I was craving pho. I typically pick up from Vietvana, but I scrolled UberEats to try somewhere else to see who could compete. I had been eyeing Lee's for a while, and finally decided that would be the one! Everything was packaged nicely and neatly. For my appetizer, I got the Spring Rolls (salad hand rolls) with shrimp and pork. They tasted fresh, and the peanut sauce was the perfect consistency. For my entree, I got the vegan noodle soup. Per usual when ordering to go, the broth (which was so flavorful, by the way... especially for a vegan broth! Yum!) came in a container separate from the veggies, noodles, bean sprouts, cilantro, limes (in this case, lemons... I wish it was limes and am curious to know if they were just out of the usual limes or if this is typical for Lee's), onions, and scallions. The box had a small container of chili paste included as well. I paid extra for fish sauce, hoisin sauce, and sriracha, which all made it with my order. Unfortunately, however, there were a couple of things that I'm used to having with my pho at other Vietnamese restaurants which I love that were not in the box, such as jalapeños and basil. We came for the Banh Mi. It was good but not as good as others I've had locally. The bread was the biggest disappointment because it wasn't the crusty loaf I've come to expect with a Banh Mi. It was more like a regular French bread you can buy anywhere. Since I don't live in the Atlanta area I won't be making Lee's a regular stop anyway. This mom-and-pop shop doesn't have the best interior or exterior decor but trust me, their banh mi's are the bomb and affordable at under $7! I've tried their grilled pork banh mi, chicken banh mi, and fish banh mi and all of them were delicious. I used to think this place was a great value for what you get, but not anymore. The prices keep going up and the recent 25% increase just did it for me. Their Banh Mi's went from $3.75 to $4.75 (we got the pork). That is a 26% increase! That's insane. Last time I went there to eat and get to-go as well. I didn't check the price until I got home, and realized they charged close to $5 per Banh Mi. I also ordered the combos with pho and a banh mi($11.95 but previously $10.95 I believe), and they give you barely anything in it. Not worth it.
