I tried the Combo bahn mi and the Pork Belly bahn mi. Both tasted good and were affordable. This venue sells fresh bread and day old bread. I was tempted to buy some but I was on my way out the city. I really like the sandwiches and want to come back for more. You can tell the veggies are fresh and that they make the sandwiches fresh to order.
I was the second customer on a Friday morning. I needed to grab Banh Mis to-go, but the smell of pho was wafting into the dining area tempted me back for lunch. I ordered a custom Banh Mi not on the menu and the woman was nice enough to accommodate. I also grabbed a pork eggroll as I was heading out the door. Both Banh Mis and Eggroll were delicious. I devoured them without taking pictures. The veggie to meat ratio was on point. Bookmarking this place for next time I'm in town.
Whenever I have a hankering for banh mi I always have Lee's Bakery in the rotation. The sandwiches are a bit small compared to others, but the taste is there. Their version is a bit drier than others I've had in the area, and they don't stuff it with as many veggies in my experience. But the bread is really phenomenal and fresh. They even offer instructions for reheating, although I'll say the freshness and quality of the bread is indistinguishable when served hot or cold. I also love that they sell bread by itself for the low-low (3 for $1.50 if I remember correctly). They also sell day-old bread at an even more discounted price... but trust me, the bread is still just as good. The service was friendly. Inside was relatively clean, and had a typical carryout feel with a few tables. I'll always have extra love for any place that tells you the ingredients they use for baked goods. Great prices, good food. No hassle, no complaints!
This is going to be my need additional of places to frequent. The place is small and seems to have a high level of people traffic whether it is to sit down or take-out. I chose to wait about 10 minutes to get a table on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered chicken and shrimp combo pho. the chicken was real breast. wow! totally shocked. Shrimp was skimpy. I think only 3 were in the bowl. the price for the bowl was very reasonable. tasty. Shrimp spring roll was good too. I will definitely come back!
Love the no frills vibes. I went for an early lunch with a friend and it was completely empty. We were seated right away. I got the combo that comes with a bowl of pho and a sandwich. I will say I wasn't super impressed with the pho, the soup was pretty plain and didn't stand out much to me and there wasn't much meat or anything but the portion itself was really generous. The le combo sandwich I got though is a different story and it really made the meal. The bread was fresh and had the perfect crisp to it. I can't remember everything that was in the banh mi, but the flavors all came together nicely. I would come here again and get just the banh mi but in terms of pho, I'd go somewhere else.
Hit up this spot. Was originally going for some pho. But ended up getting the lemongrass chicken vermicelli since I hadn't had that dish in a while. Delicious. Service was great. Professional & friendly. My wait wasn't terribly long either. I don't believe I was there longer than 14 minutes. The cafe was definitely bigger than I expected. Pretty basic and to the point. They sell their own bread, kimchi and other sofas & snacks. I'm looking forward to trying their pho when it gets cooler. P
Just letting yall know that the fish banhmi is also a buss option, as well as the bbq chicken banhmi (which maintains its most popular banhmi status). Super easy and quick to order inside whether you're dining in or getting takeout. There's a couple chairs for you to sit and wait. They have laminated menus you can use. Overall, would come again for their banh mi!
Every time I come to Lee's, I know I'm going to have an incredible experience. This time I arrived on a Thursday afternoon, and the place was pretty packed when we walked in. We were immediately seated and given waters upon arrival. After a couple minutes, our server came back to ask us what we wanted. The whole process was so quick as our food came out probably about five minutes after we ordered! It was delicious as always! We were checked on several times, once even by who I believe to be Lee himself, and asked if we needed anything. The service was great, the food was even better, and don't even get me started on the prices. I got a whole half sandwich and a bowl of pho with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day!
Lees is a classic Buford Highway staple that you can't get enough of. It came here for lunch on a Friday and it was absolutely packed, but we were able to snag a table for our party of the three we got the spring rolls to start and we originally got two of them but honestly, we could've been fine with one because they were super filling super fresh. Super delicious honestly I could have a whole point of those. then of course, the showstopper I had the Fish banh mi and it lives up to expectations and exceeded them. The vegetables were super fresh and the bread was absolute to die for not to mention this place is super affordable and the staff is super great. Definitely can't wait to come back.
Over 10 years later...this is my first time back since my last review YEARS ago! I ordered the seafood pho this time around and it was so flavorful. The spring rolls were solid as well. And I got a half chicken bahn mi as part of their dine-in combo and of course, it was still a winner. It started getting busy around lunchtime but that just means it's a popular spot.
This small restaurant has of the best pho and absolutely the best bahnmi in Atlanta. The bread is nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside (not too hard). The flavors are exceptional and it's the only place I've come across so far that offer fish (which was delicioius). Also the seafood pho was PACKED and the portions were huge. The service was friendly as well.
Lee's Bakery is truly the epitome of a hidden gem. Tucked away in a small plaza off of Buford Hwy in Doraville, the food here is delicious! The service is super quick, they manage to get the food out within 15 minutes of ordering. We were seated super quickly as well, and not only that, the kind lady offered to switch our seat closer to the fan since it was 93 degrees out. Ambiance reminds me of a local restaurant which is super nice considering how there are not many locally owned restaurants anymore. 10/10!!
Came here for lunch and it was pretty busy. The bbq pork spring rolls were pretty good, it was packed but the pork was really sweet. The pho broth was also on the sweeter side here. But the noodles and portion was good. The bun bo hue wasn't very spicy but the noodles were cooked well. I also asked to sub for different meat. I would say the soup was okay, not very spicy and the flavor wasn't strong in fish sauce. Overall, still a solid place to get a quick and affordable bite.

When we walk in we were seated immediately. The service was good and food was yummy!!! We have been here several times and definitely will be back. The first time we went here the owner, set at our table and told us how he comes in very early to make the homemade bread that is used for the sandwiches. It was a good conversation. read more
Curious of all the hype and positive reviews in Atlanta magazine, we were finally in the area and stopped in to pick up a banh mi to eat for dinner. It was very crowded on a late Sunday afternoon. I ordered at the cashier and it was about a 15 minute wait for the sandwich. It was fascinating to watch the sole person making all of those banh mi's as well as the people waiting in line to be seated or pay at the cashier. Long story short- maybe because we waited to eat it, but the bread was soggy ( probaby should not package in plastic ) and the ingredients - tofu were minimal. Veggies were not pickled. Sandwich was small in size too. Too many better banh mi places to dine in my opinion. This place seems to be popular based upon its longevity and not its quality. read more

Venue and Atmosphere The establishment is simple enough; order at the counter, take a number and a seat, and they will deliver the food to your table. The décor isn't fancy but it's clean. Food and Beverages If you're coming for a delicious and filling sandwich, you've come to the right place. The bread is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right ratio of meat and vegetables. Bread is made fresh in house daily, and they sell bags of day old bread as well. They also sell Vietnamese coffee and baba teas. They do NOT sell sweet tea (I found this out the hard way lol). Verdict I'll be back! read more

Ahhh the famous Lee's Bakery!! I was so intrigued to try this place after seeing so many great reviews. It was really packed on a weekday, but plenty of seating. The parking is easy since there is a parking lot and it's a very cute restaurant. Reminds of you the good old times. The food is very authentic and they also sell some things like kimchi in different portions. I tried their tofu banh mi which was pretty good, I will say it lacked a little flavor which you do have to be mindful of when tofu is the choice of protein but after piling on chili oil and sriracha it was good. I highly recommend to go if you eat meats, I am sure it's delicious from all the other reviews. As a vegetarian it really didn't stand out to me. read more

Lee's Bakery is one of those places that people automatically mention for "good banh mi" in the Metro Atlanta area. It is nestled in a not super busy and small plaza, so it could be easy to miss while driving. It is fairly spacious inside for a casual Vietnamese eatery. There is a dine-in or takeout option. The restaurant also sells fresh baguettes and other items at the front. Lastly, the service was also good! We got the Banh Mi Trung, Banh Mi Dac Biet, and Pho Tai Nam Chin. My boyfriend ordered the Le's Combo which came with a small bowl of pho and a half sandwich. He enjoyed the Pho Tai Nam Chin and I got to try the broth which was pretty flavorful... that surprised me as I am really picky with pho broths. For his banh mi, he got the Banh Mi Dac Biet which was okay to him. My Banh Mi Trung, which had the fluffiest scrambled eggs ever, was amazing!!! There was a nice egg mayonnaise on the baguettes and it worked really well with the scrambled eggs and pickled vegetables. I think Lee's Bakery is a great place for casual Vietnamese food! read more
I was told years ago to try this place. Now I've had pho many times. Theirs was just as good as any I've ever had. I also tried a Vietnamese sandwich, yes there is a proper name for it. But i had their popular sandwitch,a pork sandwitch. So I went with pho and a whole pork sandwitch. I found the sandwitch to be quite tastee. I walked out of there full. I can see why its quite popular, very good food. read more
My friends and I arrived not realizing they were closing soon. We still got seated but were the last table by the end of the night, sorry! My friends got their spring rolls while I ordered the combination plate which is a small bowl of beef pho with either a half or full banh mi of your choice. I opted for their bbq pork because I figured it was a safe bet and it was listed as one of their favorites. The pho was a little too salty for my preference but still tasty. The banh mi bread is made in house which is why they close early. It was a great texture but could have had more filling in terms of pork and vegetables. Overall, very cute place with lots of tables and parking to pick from. It's a casual and comfortable place I could see myself coming back to but would rather some of the other pho options nearby. read more

Came here based on Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! This is a casual family run restaurant. We ordered: fried egg rolls, chicken soup, pork banh mi, and chicken banh mi. Everything was fresh and delicious! The food came out fast and service --by Mr Lee himself-- was friendly and attentive. He stopped by at the end of our meal and we had a quick chat. He makes the rolls fresh daily starting at 2 am! We did buy extra rolls to take home. The prices are very reasonable too! Mr. Lee prides himself on fresh, real food. I definitely want to try Pho next time! read more
We've been to lees for banh mi several times & they're on par with quoc Huong in terms of price and quality The value also can't be beat on takeout b5g1 deal They don't skimp on vegetables either so our family will be enjoying sandwiches for lunch the next few days It took about 5-10 mins for the sandwiches to be ready. They weren't super busy when we got there at early dinner time on Saturday Plenty of parking in the lot And they sell kimchi which I don't recall seeing before but we got some to try. They sell bread loaves (limit 20) 3/$1.99 I believe and day old bread 3/$1 Definitely worth a trip to check this place out as it's a buhi staple! read more

Lee's Bakery satisfied my pho cravings, for real. It's a small restaurant and it was pretty full when we came for Sunday lunch. However, we were seated right away. My husband and I both shared the combo banh mi and both got pho (#14). Banh mi was crispy and filled with the meats and pickled veggies - definitely one of the best banh mis around. They did have a lot of to go orders, so it took awhile for our pho to come. But when it did, it was super worth the wait! While I didn't think the broth was super beefy, it had a nice flavor and could really taste the aromatics. It had a decent amount of meat and tons of noodles. It's always a lot of serving and we ended up bringing the rest home. You do pay at the counter, so make sure to give them your table number when you're paying. Our bill was around $35, which in today's world, is super affordable. read more

Affordable prices and good portion sizes!! The beef pho was absolutely delicious, I also got the pork bahn mi which was good as well but didn't stand out too much. The combo was only $15 for a full bahn mi and beef pho. Get a banh mi. That's it. That's the review. Fine, I'll add more. Banh mis are probably one of my favorite types of sandwiches and Lee's does it very well. (Heads up to Vietnamese restaurants out there: if you offer a good banh mi for under $6 I will likely give you 5-stars. That's my bias.) The bread has a really good crunch to it without being stale. I found it interesting that Lee's sells day-old and fresh baguettes to take home. Not sure if I've ever seen that elsewhere. I ALWAYS get a banh mi dac biet (special) if it's offered. I think it's the traditional banh mi filled with cold cuts, pâté, and pickled veggies. So in my research (read Redditing) I found that there's somewhat of a rivalry between Lee's and Quoc Huong down the road. I don't think I can pick a winner because they were both excellent. Lee's is more expensive at $5.75 vs. Quoc Huong's $5. But I felt like I got a little more meat. If I lived in the area I'd probably stop by all the time. Service was quick and friendly. The banh mi here is astonishingly good. My mom and I came here for lunch on New Year's Day, and there was plenty of seating. The restaurant itself is on the casual side, but the service is prompt and they have great lunch deals that are only available dine-in. I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup (with no green onions, which is why the photo looks like pure broth) & Full Sandwich for $16. I chose the combo banh mi for my sandwich, which comes with bologna, head cheese, jambon, pate, and veggies. My mom ordered the Bún Riêu, which I didn't try, but which she enjoyed. My beef pho was very good -- well-flavored broth, comes with bean sprouts and limes and basil and all the trappings -- but the banh mi was outstanding. I had planned to have just a small bite of the sandwich so I could take the rest home for later, but I physically could not stop myself from consuming the whole thing. The bread (made in-house) is perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the meats and fillings were fresh and well-portioned and a fever dream of deliciousness. Next time, I'll probably just order two sandwiches (less than $6/each!) and call it a perfect meal. read more

I ordered a grilled pork banh mi & XL beef pho to go. It was ready right away when I picked it up. It was $24 total for huge portions. The beef pho portion was so big I made it into 2 meals but probably could've even done 3. There was way more meat and noodles than broth though. It came with hoisin sauce but I wish it came with sriracha. Other sauces cost extra. I would come back again. read more

The baguette had a nice crunch but it was down hill from there. The cucumber was limp. While the julienned carrot/radish had a crunch it had almost no flavor; no burst of refreshing tang I would have expected. The pork was plentiful but tiring to eat since it was neither tender nor tasty. Sigh, I had higher hopes from the glowing reviews. Service was perfunctory. Ambience is a mix of hospital cafeteria and roadside mom and pop grocery. read more
This place is pretty cool and consists for pho. The size and value was great but the noodle were slightly mushy which is unusual. The service is the best and the decor isn't that bad. I will keep this place in my rotation! read more

Unbelievable! Banh Mi Pork was phenomenal!!! Service was on point and polite. The environment was homie and alive. Truly a Gem! Highly recommended. Oh and the Thai tea is made the way it supposed to be made. Delicious! Thank you read more

For the vermicelli, do they offer any sauce besides fish?
Did Lee's change their bread!?!? I haven't been there in about a year, so I went on 2/4/21 to get a bahn mi... the bread was soft and chewy, not the crusty bread I remember and love =( So disappointing!
Any idea if they're open today? Tried calling them but no one picks the phone.
I was there Friday and yesterday and they were open. Yes I am a fan of Lee's. The remodel was minimal but the food tastes the same.
