We walked in and were immediately seated. We ordered the the Spring Rolls served with Peanut sauce, the Avocado Bahn Mi and the Pork Bahn Mi. While this little gem doesn't look like much, it's a delight to the taste buds! My husband had raved about the banh mi's from Lees for a while and we were in the area, so why not? We were immediately greeted and our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered two of the combo banh mi's and the pho dac biet. My mom and I tried the rare steak, well done flank, and brisket combination pho, the grilled pork báhn mì, and the spring rolls. Everything was very tasty and fresh! What a GREAT spot for a quick lunch. The service is fast, the food is great, value is incredible. As it is with many pho places, things can be a bit one note, so ordering several things (i.e., spring rolls, pho, sandwich) can be the same taste in different formats and a little boring, but still-- great deal. The place was bustling at noon for lunch, diversity in customers, and don't forget to pick up the "day old" bread at the front when you pay for making croutons. I came here for lunch. Ordered a medium Pho to go with the brisket and steak. The Pho was delicious it was on the saltier side than what I'm used to but not too salty where I couldn't enjoy it. The medium was a really big portion for me. It was about 2-3 servings for me in a large bowl. There is both a dine in option and to go. Both you pay at the register. When I came it was pretty busy which was a reassuring sign. In addition to cooked food they offer foods such as prepackaged kimchi, meats, fresh baked bread and snacks. The restaurant itself has decent seating. Purely food based review: Bun Riêu - Tomato Crab soup is super underrated. Great in the mornings or for lunch. Lee's Bakery is famous for their Banh Mi's but I was craving Bun, and it looks like Com next door has been replaced by a Cajun seafood joint - thankfully Lee's Bakery also serves Bun and Pho. So I ordered the "Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli Bun" for $12.25 (medium size) - I'm a huge lemongrass fan but I didn't really get the lemongrass flavor ... however the chicken was still flavorful, the veggies were fresh, and their bun succeeded in satisfying my craving. The bun does come with fish sauce to sweeten up the bowl, and I added some hoisin sauce + chili oil to spice it up. FYI the Sriracha shortage is real here - no sriracha sauce and instead, they have Hoisin Sauce and Frank's Red Hot Sauce on the tables, and chili oil upon request. Service is friendly & efficient. Next time I'd like to get the Pho + Banh Mi combo for $11.75 - I love that they have combo options. Like everywhere else, banh mi prices did go up - now $5.95 (dine-in) and $$5.25 (to-go). The sandwich is super flavorful -- everything from the fresh bread to the mayo to the roasted pork and pickled veggies was phenomenal. I wanted to get like 5 more to take home with me. There are so many raving reviews, but we did not have a great experience. We ordered egg rolls, a few variations of pho, and a Le Combo Banh Mi - all the food was mediocre. The egg rolls weren't freshly fried and served at room temperature - on our way out, we saw a display case with the egg rolls under a heat lamp. R and I came here specifically to get a couple of grilled pork bahn mi sandwiches for a late weekday lunch. There is always parking available in the parking lot shared with other businesses in the same strip mall as Lee's Bakery. As soon as customers walk through the door, they come immediately to the front counter where they are met by an employee. Curiously, when I went to Lee's Bakery, there was a sign at the end of the front counter that stated "THE DINING SECTION IS CLOSED" although there were some customers sitting and eating at tables in the dining area. Oh well, R and I were going to get sandwiches for take out, anyway. The employees all wore face masks, as did all customers walking into the restaurant. The woman at the order counter was all business, and I felt just a little rushed by her. She quickly and efficiently took our orders, and even repeated our sandwich orders to confirm she wrote down everything correctly. She spoke so fast that I missed some parts of what she was saying, so I just said, "Yeah," hoping that she repeated everything correctly. We both ordered the grilled pork bahn mi sandwiches with extra veggies, which, after about a 10 minute wait, we received wrapped with white paper with the customary thin rubber band holding the paper to the sandwich, and both put into a plastic bag. We ate our sandwiches in my car under the shade of a tree at the nearby Chevron gas station. The grilled pork meat had a slightly sweet but very delicious flavor. The crunchiness of the thinly sliced carrots and pickled radish, the added heat from the jalapeno peppers, and the aromatic smell and tangy citrus flavor of the cilantro sprigs made for a fresh, crunchy and yummy bahn mi. The French baguette bread held its form, staying slightly flakey on the outside and firm (but not tough) on the inside, preventing the sandwich from getting soggy. The only thing that I could suggest to improve this sandwich is for Lee's Bakery to add more meat. However, since the sandwiches cost less than $6, this is not a deal breaker. This place was great! Honestly probably the best food we've had on our entire road trip through the southeast. We ordered one 1/2 banh mi + beef pho combo, one 1/2 banh mi + seafood pho combo, one spring roll and one fried egg roll appetizer. Everything was delicious, fresh and flavorful. The banh mi might be one of the best I've ever had, the bread was just the right texture (crunchy and soft) and the fillings were tasty and fresh. We enjoyed both the beef and the seafood pho's and appreciated the combo for the chance to try both.
