I'm new here in Atlanta and my wife and I found this place thru a TikTok post. I will cover as much as possible from our experience. So the streets are narrow and they are "one way" streets so parking is limited. When we arrived there is seating outside and inside. We couldn't sit on a Sunday at 6pm as they were extremely busy. Reservation is highly recommended. So we asked to order to go instead. The staff were sooo beautiful and helpful. Erin, helped us choose a couple of their staples. But they were out of the fried chicken. We Sat outside as a table became available, but to be honest we couldn't enjoy the food and asked for to go boxes immediately as we got attacked by flies and we were fighting for our lives to eat our food. I'm not exaggerating! IDK how others sat outside and ate with the heavy traffic of flies. LOL! The flies were on our table before our food even came out. Now for the food: we order the shumai dumplings as an appetizer, and they were delish. We also had the Mongolian beef fried rice it was phenomenal, and the sausage general tsao's pizza... and wow! The ambiance is warm and inviting. First, you have to love a restaurant with a large poster of Anthony Bourdain and a framed cover of a book by Charles Bukowski. Wow. This was an excellent meal all around. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth, fun, and excitement; both from the staff and the perfect cozy a space that embodies the neighborhood. Jen Chans is a trendy, fusion restaraunt. It is very unique in its food and environment. It is LGBTQ+ owned. The service is very warm and accepting and everyone is nice. We ordered the egg rolls and the pizza. It is handmade and scratch. If you do not have a diverse palate, I wouldn't recommend. I loved the bugolgi pizza. Our server was super helpful with giving us a lot of information to decide what drink and food we wanted to order. They were very knowledgeable about the flavor profiles of everything on the menu. The restaurant is small but super cute vibe inside and I never felt crowded. Their drink list is super unique with fun variations of things you would find on a normal cocktail list. My favorite dish was the shumai. We ordered one of their pizzas because they are known for them and it was good but I think I would rather try their more unique entrees next time. We did end up staying for our full allotted reservation time because the time that the food took. They do warn you that pizza takes longer to come out so be prepared to be patient. I didn't have the best takeout experience. I ordered online and chose the option for curbside. They ask you how to identify your car, etc and the confirmation email tells you to call when you arrive. Curbside was a major reason I chose to order because I know parking can be tough in that area and I was exhausted so wanted to get in and out. But when I arrived and called they first didn't answer then answered but told me they were too busy for curbside. So I had to circle around and eventually park illegally praying I didn't get towed to run in to get my food. I just wish they had said upfront curbside wasn't available because I would have ordered elsewhere. Their page also never updated to tell me when my food was ready, I just decided I was tired of waiting. Service was so-so. I didn't feel like they cared too much since I was a takeout customer. For dinner I ordered the Coco Curry Noodles with Mongolian Beef. It had spice to it, but not a lot of flavor otherwise. Really bummed because I've been excited to try JenChan's. Oh my gaaaaaaaawddd WHAT! I love this place! Ate dinner tonight here for the first time and I would come back every week. The Vietnamese Pork Pizza is the true LOML. The gluten free dough is the best of the best. It's soaked in chili oil, it's crispy af. The pork is delicious. It's covered in slaw. The Yook Baeng Loco Moco is just the coziest dish, it made me feel so warm and happy. The softest pork and gravy over rice and bok choy. Service was great, vibes inside the restaurant were very cool. JenChan's is one of my favorite low key places to dine in ATL. The menu items change every now and then, so I think they use some seasonal ingredients to spice it up. It's a queer friendly restaurant so that's important to me personally. You can get a Gay Card for discounts on future meals and a free margarita. Don't tell anyone, but the ginger margarita is the best margarita I've had in my life. They have board games and cards for large groups/families. Pizza is delish. I might be slightly biased because JenChan's is in my new neighborhood, but I have eaten here a few times now, and the drinks and food have been delicious. The servers are always friendly and helpful, even though they are usually swamped. Please note that the menu changes seasonally, so the burrata I eat might not be what you can eat because it might not be in season. I have sat at the bar, at a large table behind the bar with a bunch of people, and at the two tables at the top in the front window. I have not sat outside, but there are some tables available. The first time we ate here was brunch for a friend's birthday. Everyone tried everyone's dishes because they were so delicious. Everyone just picked a few things, and we all shared so much food--I think it was most of the menu. My husband was pleased because he had many meat dishes that he didn't get to eat with me. For starters, I would suggest the Ahi tuna, which will melt in your mouth, and the scrumptious Burrata if it is available. I also love their wings, Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, stir-fried Snow peas, and last but not least, the fried mushrooms. As far as pizza goes, you can't go wrong. I just need to pick the one with the most toppings you love. If it's summertime, you should get the teachers for peaches and add prosciutto to it. You're welcome. I've also had and recommend the coconut curry, yes, on a pizza, and the 007. When you come for brunch, I recommend General Tso's chicken and waffles or Chinese stir-fry. read more

Restaurant opened at 12:00 I walked in 1:20pm I normally have a really great experience here. Today everything seemed off. I enter the restaurant, greeted by bar staff to sit anywhere... I sat in a booth alongside left wall and then greeted by another woman (full figured, reddish hair). She asked how many in my party, I replied "one". She scoffed, made a weird face and stared at the table I chose. That made me feel really uncomfortable. It was as if she shamed me for choosing a booth for one person. There was only one other party in the restaurant. I looked past it, order wonton soup, which is the first item on the lunch menu. My waitress walked away, came back and told me they were out of this item. The entire experience was disappointing. Menu changes should be announced when placing the menu down. I was looking for lunch in Atlanta today and thought I'd try this place on my list in Cabbagetown. They have a limited lunch menu and parking is a gamble, but my experience today makes me want to come back for dinner, likely multiple times. Xander (I hope I'm spelling that right) was a great dude and suggested I try the Fat Chan burrito and he was spot on. It was killer, the chicken was tender and all the flavours went so well together. Not to mention, the burrito was gigantic and I could only finish half. Their shumai were juicy and delicious, and the house hot sauce was a fantastic compliment to the burrito and I bought a bottle to bring home. The place has a bar-like atmosphere but is cozy, they were playing old cartoons on the TV. Can't wait to go back and try more. But again, be aware that parking is practically non-existent. read more

Tables are pretty close together so just be cautious. I came here for dinner with a group of friends on a Thursday for dinner. Parking is tight in Cabbagetown but circle around and you'll find street parking! Inside, the restaurant is cozy and our group of 6 was seated quickly. We decided to order family-style and our waitress was super great with checking in and explaining how to order. YUMMY YUM CHA AT JENCHANS | I never would have thought I would enjoy a Chinese fusion meal but JenChan's has changed my mind. Whether it's for a late night drunken meal or a boozy Sunday "yum cha" brunch, JenChan's hasn't let me down. My first visit to JenChan's was one night after a few drinks down the street - i ordered the sweet and sour chicken, as is my go-to guilty pleasure and it really hit the spot. I felt like it almost tasted too healthy and lacked that dirty Chinese oil, and it made me feel slightly better about what I was eating after 9:30pm on a weeknight. They also have crispy wings and Asian fusion pizzas that are a ton of fun to eat. But my favorite experience at JenChan's was at Sunday afternoon "yum cha" (dim sum) brunch. Their menu is chock full of seasonal and local ingredients that they use in smart ways to create a cohesive bite. We loved almost everything we tried, especially the Vidalia Onion, the Sweet Potato Tostada and the Pearson Farm Peaches. The white rice with scrambled eggs allowed for add on's that were very basic (basically everything I can find in my kitchen right now) but really hit the spot. The "best damn coffee cake" was super tasty but a little on the dry side. We were full by the time we got to the coffee cake so we took it home and reheated it and it was so much better that way. And of course since it was hot outside (they have some limited dog friendly outdoor seating) we had to order the frosé and the ginger margarita slushie. Unfortunately they were already sold out of the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Whether it's for yum cha brunch or late night drinks & munchies, JenChan's has got it all.
