I really had a fabulous experience here. I also had a Living Social coupon, but I didn't have the same problems someone else had about needing to have it printed out- I showed it to them on my phone and they had their own little system where I signed my name in a book and they wrote the number on a post-it I would give to my nail tech.
I was greeted at the door by a really nice woman who took down my LS details and escorted me to my chair.
The room where the pedicures are done is really big- at least 14-16 chairs, so it seems like it would be a great place to come as a group. The lighting was nice and dim and they had nice relaxing music playing.
The thing that really blew me away about this experience was how communicative everyone was to me during the process. I came for a French pedicure and to get my eyebrows waxed. During my pedicure, my technician, Ka, was always asking things like "How's the water?" "Let me know if I'm hurting you", "Let me know if the pressure here is too much", "How do you like the lines on your French pedicure? Thick? Thin?" - It was really nice, because a lot of times people will sit there in the chair and assume they just have to grin and bear it. Even when she was working on my calluses, my foot jerked (because it tickled a little, not because it hurt) and she stopped and looked up to make sure I was ok, even though I never said anything. She wasn't overly talkative in general (I was just in a mood to read my magazine and she was down with that) but was very clear on what I should do with my feet- "Ok, switch", "Ok, keep them both in the water I'll be right back", etc- none of this "tap your leg and have to interpret the wordless clues" stuff.
Then, even MORE impressive was the woman who did my eyebrows. She asked "So are you just in for a cleanup?" and I told her I wanted them thinned out a little bit since they hadn't been done in a while. Then she HANDED ME A MIRROR and told me to show her with my fingernail exactly how thin I wanted them. After I did that, she brushed them out and, while I was still looking in the mirror, traced it out again with the handle of the brush to have me confirm how thin they were going to go. It was so thorough and impressive, I have NEVER had someone do that to me before and it's always a bit of a gamble. She even said "I just think communication is really important in these situations"- I totally agree!
I will definitely be coming back here, even though it's a little out of my way. read more
