My daughter stated she made a 530 appointment, which on the Yelp site it says by appointment only and they want to charge her full price for everything plus we did not get started on her nails until 636. My technician was awful. The service for a fill was $45. My nails began lifting three days later. She actually asked me for a tip after she refused to take the nails off that were lifting, rolled her eyes when I asked her to take one off, my nails are very thick because she did not shave them down. I've been there several times to get pedicures, gel nails, acrylics, and fills. There have been a few times I haven't been too happy, but never that bad of an experience. Majority of the time I leave happy. I haven't found one technician in particular that I'm fond of. I have just kindof floated around and was set with whomever had time. This last time I went to Tina for fills. I am so happy with her work. They aren't too thick or thin which normally occurs. The polish is great, and for once they truly look natural. One more thing she did was tell me when things would cost extra. I always get the more expensive polish that costs 5-10$ more. No one has ever told me until after it's said and done. Before applying the polish, she told me about the extra charge - something the past ten technicians there or elsewhere never did. Needless to say, I am done "floating". SO disappointed and angry. I came in a few days ago to get acrylics and a pedicure for prom, it took them 45 minutes to sit me down in a chair to get a pedicure, then the lady didn't even paint my fingers the color i wanted, i told her what i wanted and didn't get what i asked for. Also not to mention i came home with cuts all over my fingers (right before prom) I called back the next day to make an appointment to get mine recolored to the color i wanted, made an appointment, arrived and walk ins were getting seated before me and i had an appointment. Also every nail lady was pissed that I didn't say I didn't like them the first time (i'm too nice to tell someone i hate something to their face). finally after 35 minutes I get seated and the lady asked me for my color, I picked it out and thye apparently didn't have it, so i left with the nails i'm not happy with and VERY angry. This was my first time here! I moved to Frederick from germantown and was looking for a new go-to spot! I was a walk-in and got there just a few minutes before 10am, thinking that I was gonna be the first customer there. But the door was already open and there were 3 people already getting their pedicures in the back. Apparently if you're a regular and are good with your nail tech, they'll let you make an appointment with them before they open lol. Good to know! Anyway, they took me promptly and Mary walked in. The people here are really nice, the salon is clean but the smell of polish can be overwhelming when you first walk in. It's really busy but they have a lot of employees so the wait isn't horribly long. Walking in, I was greeted by someone and was asked what I wanted to have done. I waited about 15 mins but that didn't bother me because I couldn't decide on a nail color! I opted to do regular nail polish pedicure and a gel french manicure. I was escorted to the back is the salon where they had 8 massage chairs set up, with controllers, 4 on each side. They had 2 flat screens with captions on. It was nice and relaxing. They put the foam toe spacers on and give you those fake sandals to walk over to the manicure station. This is probably the best part because you dry your nails while they are working on them. Are you confused? The manicure table have slots on each side where the dryers are, you stick your hand in and woosh, the dryer goes on. With the gel nails they put on a base coat, something else, gel and then a top coat. While the woman put on the base coat on one hand your other hand sits in the dryer and you keep switching until the topcoat is done. It was extremely efficient. When she was done, I thought I had to sit there longer. I was paranoid and kept thinking that my nails weren't dry but they were. I liked this because it just meant I was out the door faster. The damage was $55 for regular pedi and gel french mani, which is pricey but we'll see how long the French manicure lasts! (Regular mani and pedi is $42). My only complaint is that I have a lot of cuticles and typically like them cut off, which they didn't do. I guess it's a preference thing and is safer if they don't cut too deep. read more

I've tried this place several times because it's close to home, and I really wanted to give it a chance by seeing different people, but my experience has not been the best. If you like the natural look with artificial nails this might not be the place for you. I've explained what look I like but they seem to get irritated by that and I always end up with thick, wide, fake looking nails because I feel they just dont want to take the extra time. Same with the pedicures.... rushed and not a great spa experience. It takes a special nail place not to flinch when three very masculine looking people walk in for their pedicure appointments. Although none of us have ever been turned *away*, there are some places that make you feel kinda weird for not being super femme. This was definitely not one of them. Our appointment was at 6pm, and the place was busy but not overwhelmed. Unlike another reviewer, we *were* a bit put-off by the really strong chemical smell in the manicure area, but it's somewhat expected in a small nail salon, and in the back it was much less potent. We were shown to our massage chairs and they didn't even blink at the fact that I was using a cane and needed a little help getting into the chair. (I'm disabled.) We all got the "spa pedicure", and you get a lot for your money. It's rare to find a place that gives you the full monty for $40. Most of their tools look like they are autoclaved regularly and in sterile packaging; a few were not, but none of the ones that you really need to worry about. There was the nail maintenance, two different scrubs, exfoliation, massage with lotion, and then a paraffin dip that doesn't require you to be an acrobat. (I've been to some places where you have to move in somewhat awkward ways in order to get your foot in the wax.) They also put another lotion on your legs and wrap them in hot towels, which is lovely. Finally, they file and paint your nails (or just use a clear coat if you're not the color type). What I appreciated most is that most places I've had pedicures require me to hold my feet in unnatural (to me) positions for long periods of time and they scold you if you relax into a more comfortable one. The manicurist I had, had no problems working with my feet being slightly tilted outward, and when I had to change positions for comfort she had no problem with that. My only con, other than the chemical smell, is that the manicurists banter back and forth with each other in their native language, and that can be off putting for a first timer. (Yes, I was able to drag someone who had never even thought they were ever going to do such a thing with us!) Overall, we had a very lovely, relaxing experience that was well worth the money, and would go back in a heartbeat! read more

Terrible experience. Nail tech stepped on my toenails and barely attempted to fix the polish. Nails were done so poorly I'm embarrassed to walk around with them. they look worse than what I came in with. By the time they were done the woman was RUNNING out the door to try to get some lunch so I didn't even have the change to complain. She also got a black streak from the nail brush on my white nail and made 0 attempt to fix before permanently painting it on and putting my finger under the light. Terrible experience read more

I've never left a negative review for anyone, anywhere, but this is absolutely the worst manicure I've ever seen and was 100% not what I asked for. I asked and was told I could get a full set of gel nails, but she insisted that she was doing gels when she was clearly doing acrylics and I'm pretty sure she knows that gel polish is not a "full set of gel nails." I asked for rounded tips, and she filed them to pointed little daggers. She piled on the acrylic so high that I asked her to take them down some and she insisted that my nails are just curved instead of flat and there was nothing she could do about that. I stopped even trying to talk to her at that point as it was clear that this was intentional. Beyond that, the hideously thick acrylic (which I hate and did not want for this very reason) was wavy, uneven, and lopsided. All of the nails are weirdly shaped, with the sides filed at such a sharp angle that the natural nail beneath is visible at the sides of every single nail, and she made 6/10 cuticles bleed. They are still ragged a week later, despite getting the entire mess redone by a competent manicurist (who also could not believe that this was not simple malice) and I'll just have to wait for them to finish healing. Frankly, I was too angry to leave an immediate review and had to give myself a cooling off period. If it was just incompetence I'd have forgotten it by now. But this was not just incompetence. I was nothing but cordial with her and even left her a generous tip because it seemed like she probably needed it and I already knew I was going to have to go elsewhere to get a halfway decent manicure. In retrospect, I now remember why I never go to the nearest place just because I'm in a hurry. read more

I called and made an appointment the morning of New Years Eve for 3 girls to get manicures. We were told that they could not accommodate us at 1PM but they would be ready by 1:30. When we arrived 5 minutes before our appointment, there were no chairs available to sit. We were forced to stand around in the front area for 45 minutes until a tech was available. The check-in log showed that the previous 5 people were walk-ins and didn't have reservations. After waiting forever, we eventually received the worst manicures ever! While they did a decent job of prepping my nails, she put the layers of nail polish on too thick. I let my nails try for 30 minutes in the salon (because they had just started on my sister) but upon leaving realized that they were all goopy and smudging everywhere. My sister got a shellac manincure and they didn't file her nails so one hand had long nails and the other short. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! They were rude and rushed and did a terrible job. read more

Though this is the most convenient location for me to get my nails done, I will not be back. During my last visit, when the nail technician took SNS powder off of my fingernails, she sanded my nails down so far that it hurt, and left my nails paper thin. It will take several months to get my nails grown back. The staff is friendly there but they need to be better trained. After standing around and waiting for 25 minutes I was told to go sit in the pedicure chair. My feet were put in cold water with no jets where I sat for another 25 minutes - to the point that my feet turned into prunes... At 6:45 when I finally decided I'd had enough and got up to leave, a few employees kept begging me to stay telling me that someone would be right with me - but that's what they had been telling me for over an hour now... When I entered the business I was not greeted at all for five minutes. Okay. I'm in a good mood I start choosing my colors. Finally someone comes to front. She angrily tells me I have to wait. I say I have an appointment. She says I have to wait. I say ok, No biggie I think to myself. I sit & take out my phone. Maybe 10 minutes later a tech takes me back for my pedicure She did a great job. When she is finished she says someone else will do my fill. Guess what it's the rude lady that greeted me. Okay no big deal. Her name is Linda. Stay away from her. She is rough. She grabs my hand and tells you to relax. Hard to relax when you are so rough. At one point she angrily tells me not to watch her. Watch the tv. Huh? I can't watch the service I'm getting. I asked for a design. I did not get it cause I just wanted it to be over. This is the worst nail salon. The technician rushed. She sand and drill down my natural nail to the point where where my natural nails are thin and i'm in so much pain. The drill speed was so high it was BURNING my nails. The sides of my nails began to bleed because of this. she didn't even make an attempt to clean the polish around the cuticle and apply lotion or oil. The nails turned out okay but MY HANDS ARE IN PAIN. They are so sensitive to the touch because of how rough she was with the drill. My hands are red and it feels like my nail beds are on fire. I will never return and I will be complaining. The nail technician rushed because she saw other people coming in to she tried to hurrying mess my nails up. This place should be closed. Manicurist was painting my nails and the polish began to sag . First she wasn't even painting to the cuticle and leaving paint lines - like when u can see the layers of polish bc the paint doesn't all start at the same place . Anyway then the paint began to sag and - it was super weird I've never seen anything like it- the paint just started sliding off and making more paint lines... and she's like.. oh don't worry I've done this a long time and it dries clean.IT DOES NOT DRY CLEAN. This place is wonderful, went in for a brow wax and manicure for a holiday party and really felt welcome and taken care of. everyone was so so nice, which is not always the norm for a nail salon, the woman the took care of me was extremely thorough, even repainting a nail when I smeared it. The brow wax was perfect, first time I haven't had to go home and immediately clean a few stray hairs. All in all the best place I've been for waxing and nails in Frederick.
