The first time i went there it was great however this year the lack of customer service is awful.... If it would let me i would leave no stars. They can not explain benefits and or charges , your insurance says one thing and they say another but no explanation on where they get the dollar amount. I ordered contacts here a month ago and got no updates. I had to call them constantly just for them to say that the order is still processing. Eventually they said they would have to figure out what is going on and call their supplier. If I never would have called and asked I would have gotten no updates. - Nonexistent customer service. Did not greet me when I entered and wouldn't lift their faces from their phones until I approached the desk. Not very friendly. - Failed to give me my prescription so I had to call back to request it via email - prescription they gave me was completely wrong. The doctor did not listen to my needs at all and seemed to be on autopilot. He decided I am near sighted and declared I need a distance prescription when I specifically said I work on a computer and need my glasses to see the screen. Had to schedule another appt to correct this. - Arrived 5 min early to 2nd appt and had to wait almost an hour before I was seen. Doctor was defensive and stated "you told me you're near-sighted" which is just not true and immature of him to make excuses for failing at his job. Do not go here. I've been coming here for years! brought my sons and daughter here as well and have only grown to appreciate them more through the passed 22 years. They're professional, courteous and just plain pleasant to come in to see. It's a relaxing environment and when things aren't perfect they've always made it right. Usually when we've tried something new on a prescription which is inevitable sometimes. I ordered glasses, but they ordered the wrong frames. They reordered and the purplish reflection on the lenses was so obnoxious that they had to be sent back to take off the blue light protection. This has made the lenses incredibly hard to clean. I also tried to order a years worth of contacts for my son, but was told I could only order 6 months worth because his prescription expires in 6 months. This is ridiculous because I can order a years worth online. In order to get a rebate from the manufacturer I need to order from the prescribing doctor, so I'm out of luck. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service is lacking. read more

I'm new to Mesa, AZ & this was my first appointment here.. Staff was courteous and attentive. I had a questionnaire emailed to me one wk prior which made for an easy check in. My appointment was @9am and I was seen by Dr. Lee @9:15. He jumped right in and noticed the redness in my eyes and wanted to treat that off the bat (which was one of the reasons for my visit). Dr. Lee gave me 3 options to remedy the issue and continued to educate me on why this could be happening to my eyes. The eye exam was fine and he was very thorough. Although, I would appreciate more eyewear options. Pleasntly surprised and I would recommend Dr. Lee to family and friends. read more

I came in yesterday for my annual eye check up, but for me annual is every 4 years. Anyhow, I was greeted and asked to fill out some paperwork. I looked around and viewed frames while I waited. I saw Dr. Lee. He was excellent and answered all my questions. He seemed interested in my questions and gave me well thought out answers. I like that. I picked out new frames from their decent selection. I even got one of the front office ladies to fix my old pair as it had a stripped screw. So now I have a back up. All in all, very happy. Sold me glasses that did not fit my face and did not correct the situation. I would not have purchased had I been told they were not wide enough. Treated my like I should've known they were too small. I tried a version on in the store that were an ok fit and told they could adjust. They heated and bent to make work - but they do not fit properly. Very expensive mistake. Customer service is poor. I do not recommend. read more

I scheduled an appointment with them online few days before my visit and gave them my insurance information. When I went in for my visit the receptionists were not nice. I was asked to fill out a form and the girl didn't even hand it to me she just glared at me and shooed me away. When i went back up to drop the form off they couldn't find my insurance in their system, even though I confirmed it the day before. Then they started patronizing me making me feel stupid about the insurance I had. And kept asking me for my number which i had already given several times. When they finally figured out the issue that was they didn't take my insurance but they have not updated their settings so my insurance still thought it was approved (I understand it happens not their fault) but then all three of the receptionists a just proceeded to make me feel embarrassed and humiliated about it and like I was the one who should have known. It just made me feel excluded and just honestly sad. read more

Customer service is top-notch I always enjoy coming here I stopped coming here over the years only because they nickel-dime you at every opportunity they can. This place has at least a 35% markup on everything compared to other Optical competitors in the area. With that said if you're willing to pay for the best customer service around that everything will pay for itself. read more

They gave me the wrong prescription at checkout. First time at this eye center. I provided my current prescription from 2020. Upon checkout I asked for and received my updated prescription. I proceeded to order over $300 of glasses from a third party. Days later I happened to compare 2020 and 2021 prescriptions and they were the same, yet I remembered the doctor saying she had adjusted it. I called the office and was sent another copy of my 2021 prescription. Didn't match what I had been given at checkout with the doctor's signature on it. At this point I'm out over $300 that I can't get refunded. Called the office and didn't even get as much as an apology. Watch what they give you and double check for accuracy. I have been coming here for years. Dr. Lee is a great doctor. As a diabetic you can have the testing that sees the back of your eyes done. This is great to know the health of your eyes before anything happens. The office staff was really helpful in picking out glasses as well! read more

I've been a customer since 2009. Friendly staff and great doctors. They have a lot of frames to choose from. I bought two frames over the years but mainly use contacts. I've been using Acuvue Oasys (2weeks) for several years. I talked with my doctor about irritation on the second week. She gave me a week supply of the Acuvue Oasys daily to tryout. After a couple of days of the trial I ordered a year supply. read more

After being with lee eye care for 17 years they could not be honest with me or my dad on our prescription and frames. It took 5 weeks for me to get my glasses after they said max 2 weeks anytime after the two weeks when I'd call they would always say " oh we'll call the lab and find out for you and get back to you" they rarely ever got back to us and when they did it was always "they're on back order" or "they haven't shipped yet" or "by the end of next week they should be in". It was always the same kind of excuse we heard from them in those 6 weeks, never an honest or straight answer. As for my dad it took him 6 weeks to get them, he insisted on getting the display frames (after 4 weeks of not receiving them, which remind you they said it would only take 2 weeks for us to receive our glasses) they said that it wasn't possible to do that. He went back in on week 6 and they said they were were still on back order but they went to the back to look for them for 25 minutes, which makes us think that they actually lost them because they didn't care. Finally they decide it was actually possible to give him the display glasses, after both of us not having glasses and not being able to see for 6 weeks we finally got them after only supposedly taking up to 2 weeks. I am very disappointed in them and on how they "keep the client informed with what is going on". I will not be back anymore and I highly do not recommend them to anyone. read more

My family and I have been coming here for years and years. Both doctors are super nice, listen to concerns, and really try to figure out what is best for each individual person (contacts vs glasses, types of lenses, etc). Between myself and my 3 kids, we have been here many times. The front office staff are very helpful with explaining insurance coverage and options, and also patient and helpful when you are picking out frames, or when your child is trying out contacts for the first time. Also helpful getting warranty work done when your child steps on his glasses a time or two. Definitely recommend this eye center! read more

My family and I have gone there for a few years now. The first pair of glasses my husband got were terrible. Since my prescription hadn't changed, I didn't get new glasses until last year. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't see well until I found out that the lenses didn't include my astigmatism. They also did this for one of my sons' lenses. I don't know if it's the office staff not knowing how to submit orders, or the optometrist not writing the prescription correctly, but for what glasses cost, they better be correct. Also, a couple months after purchasing my last pair from them, the anti-glare coating ($60+ extra) was coming off. They had to ship the lenses back. It took nearly two months for me to get them back since they misplaced my frames. The office is incredibly disorganized and inefficient. There is no reason to wait over an hour after your appointment time. read more

Lee's eye care was in for the money, not providing care. I purchased glasses and a month later a screw started coming lose. I am a full time RVer and had already left Arizona. When I returned six months later, they said a washer was missing causing the screw to come lose. They were unable to find washers in-house due to their reconstruction project in process and needed to send my glasses out. I asked if they could be sent to me and they agreed if I paid the shipping costs. I argued the point as it was not my fault that they never had the washer beneath the screw in the first place. Nor was it my fault that during their reconstruction project they couldn't find washers. And as a customer, I was inconvenienced for six months and further inconvenienced by being without glasses for more than a week. Finally Dr. Lee agreed to pay IF my glasses were sent partial post but would only go in half if I wanted them sent 2-day air. I paid the $12 for 2-day air myself. At that point I realized that they were into making money and cared little for the customer. read more

Called yesterday 10/29 to confirm that they accepted my insurance. The receptionist confirmed that they do and I finished that phone call with letting her know I would schedule our appointments online to make it easier. No where during that conversation did she try to make me an appointment over the phone or inform me that their online booking has problems. Fast forward to today 10/30, I get there 15 minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork and the receptionist states there is not any appointment for my son at 10am. She tried insinuating that I perhaps am not at the correct location and maybe I made my appointment somewhere else. I immediately pulled up my confirmation email to show her that I was in fact at the correct location and there at the correct time and she seemed uninterested at looking at my confirmation email. All she could offer was the possibility of "maybe" squeezing us in 30-45 minutes. Ummmm no we had a scheduled appointment for 10am, arrived early, took time off of work and school to be at the appointment and you don't have us down!!! She mentioned that their online appointments have many been giving them problems and there were errors. My question is if that's the case, why did she not try to book me an appointment over the phone when I called yesterday to confirm they accepted my in insurance!! And why are they even allowing people to book online if it's giving them problems?! My time is valuable and we would have been first time customers to this Optometrist. This was my second exam and first pair of glasses from Lee Eyecare. Dr. Dao was extremely professional and very concerned about my visual needs. I have a very minor correction that does not require full time use of glasses. The doctor recommend I have the prescription made in polarized sunglasses for daytime driving because I'm behind the windshield a majority of the day. I picked up my sunglasses today and WOW! what a difference when on the road. Thank you for insisting on only the best vision for me. read more

Not happy.. totally changed my prescription for close up and I was not able to see. Took back once and was told I just need to wear them to get used to them. Tried that.. didn't work. Went back to my old eye doctor at Desert Family Eye Care (awesome service) and they checked the glasses and found that they changed my prescription drastically. My close up vision hasn't changed in 4 years. Time slipped by and didn't get back to this Lee center within the 6 month time frame so basically I have a$500 pair of useless glasses. My bad. This is my second time here in a few months, first time was for me and this time is for my daughter. On both occasions I ended up waiting for about an hour before seeing anyone. I was on time for both visits, the wait is absolutely ridiculous. I have been going here for quite a few years and the front desk is always filled with new faces which may be reflective of why so many reviews seem negative about the front desk experience. Once you finally get into the examination room things move rather swiftly and both optometrists are friendly and skilled. Considering location, it would be nice if they had a wider selection of affordable frames. Becca was excellent on the back end and helped save the experience from being a total disaster. read more

I was skeptical of coming here based on some of the reviews I saw online however my experience was perfectly fine.. The front desk staff was helpful and the girl that helped me pick out glasses was very patient and understanding of what I was looking for. Dr. Lee was very knowledgeable and understood my concerns. He explained things thoroughly for me and made sure I was taken care of. I had to order some glasses and get new lenses for my current Sun(Driving) glass frames so the new lenses will need to be cut and installed. We will see how everything turns out in a couple weeks. :) read more

VERY NICE office! Got my eyes checked for the first time there and the lady who checked them was very very nice and she was very helpful and efficient. I did need glasses so I went to the front to pick them out and one of the girls at the front who was blonde picked out a perfect pair she really knows what she's doing when it comes to face shapes and what she really thought would look best for me. I ended up going with the pair she picked. I would just like to say that the office is very nice and all the staff I dealt with was amazing and I was in and out of there in no time! They do not waste time when it comes to getting things done which I really appreciated. I highly recommend this place. read more
