Hate that I have to leave them a bad review. But I order 2 Nashville hot tender and fries. The chicken came out cold and tough. End up finish 1 tender and toss rest away. 2/5 stars If you want really good hot chicken try Dave's Hot Chicken.

Pretty average chicken sandwich. Was not hot at all. They only gave me two options, hot or mild even though the menu showed a hotter option. Typically, hot chicken is a darker color and has more sauce with a deeper flavor. This didn't hit for me. The Mac n cheese is a hard pass. Didn't taste good at all. They don't offer any type of hot sauce so I didn't order the greens. Greens with no hot sauce is like cereal with no milk, I'm good. The fries aren't my style. It's a beer battered fry, I'm a crinkle cut guy. If you like minimal spice and beer battered fries then you might love it. I wouldn't go back though.

Love, love, love this food stand at the Post. There's always a long line, but it's worth the wait. The food comes out fairly quickly and hot. I went with a friend visiting from Portland who wanted to order all the sides. We had ordered a few different things from the other food places in the food court area. Out of the sides, the collard greens were my fave. It wasn't vinegary. The broth it was marinated in was sooo good with the braised meat. It is on the soupier side. The greens weren't bitter. This is the best collard greens I've had. I could've eaten a bowl of this as a soup. The only thing missing is maybe adding some heat as an option. The Nashville hot chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I like how they use a thigh for dark meat. It's so juicy and flavorful. It's also topped with the kale kimchi slaw to add some acidity. The buttered Texas toast is a nice touch but can be difficult to eat since everything falls out. The fries are crispy and seasoned well. Aside from ChopnBlok (my other Post fave), Lea Jane's is definitely a staple when you come here!

The loaded fries are a must try if you come here! Perfectly seasoned crunchy fries smothered in queso, fried chicken bites, caramelized onions and green onions. What more could you want? We got the spicy version, which could've been spicier in my opinion but still delicious. Make sure you get a little of everything in that first bite and WOW there was nothing better than that. Highly recommend these loaded fries! A good appetizer before trying all the other food at POST.

Huge wings with a kick! It's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The fish sandwich is ok. But compared to other places: One of the better spots in post.

I got the Nashville hot chicken and it was so tasty. The chicken and french fries were super crispy as well as the cole slaw really bringing in all the flavors together. The service was quick and they will give you a text if you provide your phone number so you can continue to walk around and explore POST while the food is being made. There is a lot of seating in POST so it was not difficult finding a spot to sit.

When I visit Post, I typically eat at this place! It's so good! I had the loaded fries this time, usually have the waffle cone fries.

Nut-friendly - no peanut oil, no nuts in anything they serve I believe. Having some options on ordering at Lea Jane's is nice. They have a way to order online, but I just walked up to the counter. The line moved very quickly with about 10 people ahead of me. I ordered the Loaded Fries and got a confirmation text nearly immediately. Another text came about 10 minutes later to notify me that my order was ready to be picked up. A nice system that lets you spend some time ordering elsewhere or fighting to get a table at the overly crowded POST food court on a Saturday afternoon. The Loaded Fries were surprisingly good value for the overall higher priced restaurants at POST. It was shared among three people in my group and everyone felt that it was a nice snack for the afternoon. The chicken was crispy and with a good amount of heat at the "Spicy" level, and the fries had plenty of a cheesy, alfredo-sauce-like gravy and nice garnishes (green onion). Surprisingly, no other condiments seemed available like ketchup, but I didn't feel that they were necessary as the fries themselves had plenty of flavor.

I was looking for the chicken to be a bit more seasoned at the base... there was a bit of spice but not the kind that lingers. The food itself was delivered fast and fresh.

Stopped by POST Houston before going to a concert at 713 Music Hall next door to get some grub. I've been wanting to try Lea Jane's for the longest time and I finally had my chance! Ordered a chicken sandwich and was given two options by the cashier: regular or spicy (the menu shows three levels of heat), and I opted for mild because I had read in one of the reviews that the mild was spicy and I didn't want to deal with all that at the concert. The cashier took my phone number so they could text me when my order was ready to be picked up. I went to get some drink and found a place to sit and a couple of minutes later, I got a text letting me know that my order was ready. Food: good portion of both the sandwich and the fries (came as a combo with the sandwich). I did find, however, that the regular (or mild) was NOT spicy at all. Like, it didn't even have a kick to it. I don't know what the other reviewer was thinking when he said that. It was still good, but I would have liked to have some hotness to my sandwich. Oh well, the more reason for me to go back the next time I'm here.

Tried this place out today. The chicken was pretty good . It had a good crunch and a nice flavor . I ordered a hot flavored chicken and hot chicken tenders basket with fries and a side of macaroni. The portion size was good . The soda was extra expensive ..about 5 bucks for a little bottle . The Mac and cheese was average. It didn't have a lot of layer of seasoning or different cheeses. The chicken was moist but needed a hot sauce and or better dipping sauce . It wasn't spicy . It came with ranch and didn't offer blue cheese. It came with a house made Korean like sauce that was okay. Overall , I gave it a 3 stars because there are other places available that offer hot chicken and wings , I probably wouldn't run to order again . The picture came out great though.

Best loaded fries I've ever had!!!! It kinda tasted like truffle oil was used but I didn't see that on the list of ingredients. Whatever sauce they used was so flavorful!! Chicken was good quality, all ingredients were fresh! Order came out in a timely manner. Will return!!

This Lea Jane Hot chicken is located inside of a marketplace, with you need to provide your number so they can text you when your order is ready. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, which comes with pickled slaw, charred onion ranch on white bread with a side of fries. My first recommendation is to roll the sandwich on napkins to it can get less messy while eating it. The sandwich had a good taste the chicken was juicy and well fried but did not have a spicy taste but over all has super delicious and eating was easier because I roll it on the napkins. After eating my recommendation is going to the rooftop of the market which you can see a nice view of Downtown Houston.

Nice cozy place, perfect setting for fried chicken. I am sure they had other stuff, but that was the mission for this visit. Started with fried pickle spears, probably the best I have ever had, no joke. Perfect coating, taste and preparation. I like the spears vs the chips. Had the special which was to legs and two thighs for the price of the 3 pc dark. Beans and slaw. Ok, the chicken was great, moist, seasoned, very well cooked. I will go out of my way to go here for the chicken. Beans, canned with a little flavor added, nothing to brag about the slaw was pretty good. The fries on my friend's plate looked great. Perfect. We got here at about 1145, the place was busy. By 1215, it was packed, but they move people through and do a booming take out. Try it, you will like it. It satisfied my fried chicken desire and. The fries are the typical frozen shoe string fries. Service is okay; again, this spot borders on a fast food restaurant so it's quite simple service. I wasn't too impressed the first time, and this visit certainly confirmed my initial thoughts. For La Lucha's Happy Hour, you get a choice between 2 types of oysters ($1.50 each). These were great - do this on a weekday before 6pm and you should be able to grab a table without a reservation. Barely even after we started eating the oysters, the waitress was already asking if we wanted to order more, instead of allowing us to just enjoy our food without interruptions. The menus they gave at our table were inconsistent and had different menu items. I had to ask for clarification if the redfish was on the menu since it wasn't on two of the three menus given to us. So, quality control was a miss. Rest of the menu... is limited. Everything was so greasy, from the fried chicken, the redfish, and shrimp tacos. * Red fish with pecans - 6/10. The fish did not taste like it was seasoned with salt. It was well cooked, not dry at all, but it lacked any sort of seasoning aside from the butter and pecans on top. * Shrimp Tacos - 4/10. I think I prefer Taco Bell over this one. The shell was greasy, not crisp (felt like it was stale), and I was confused with the combination of American Cheese and shrimp. They also added hot sauce or spicy salsa in the tacos - so a warning if you can't handle spice (not mentioned on the menu). * Half Fried Chicken - 5/10. The chicken was moist. Been here once before and it was quite dry, so I'm glad this was cooked well. You get 2 thighs, a wing, and a drumstick (4pc). Again, there was a lack of any seasoning on the chicken itself & the exterior. Sadly, the sauce that we picked was not the best either - oyster mayo. It would've been nice to try the others, but the half order came with one sauce. The seasonal jam that was available was the peach jam. It went well with the biscuits (half order comes with 2 biscuits, any extra is $1.50). For my people who get cold in restaurants, I would recommend bringing a light jacket since they turn the A/C up.

I remember the hype this place got as they started out and moved from their original spot to this new spot on Shepard. Now that they have inside seating, I figured it was time to check them out. I was in the area at a local bar with friends, and a few friends ordered Mico's through DoorDash. It looked and smelled so good that I decided I had to have it that night, but at the restaurant. I pulled up to what looks a new building. They share a lot with other businesses but I was able to get a parking spot easily. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating. They also have bar seating by the register. When I looked around, I noticed alot of people waiting on food. It was a mix of food delivery drivers as well as patrons that had ordered and waiting. There was a customer at the counter going off on the employees and I got to commend the young staff for keeping their cool. That being said, the young staff was friendly and trying their best, but they were drowning and the mood in the place was off. Items were forgotten. People were not getting their food in the order of when they ordered. Four parties ordered after me, with similar items and everyone got their orders before mine. I think I was forgotten and only after one of the staff noticed me waiting did they come and look at my receipt. Time from ordering to receiving my food was close to 40 minutes. This is a hot chicken place that is trying to be somewhat fancy. I was served my food on a nice plated plate. Nice touch, but it felt off for the food being served here. They also give utensils in cloth napkins. No paper towels or napkins in sight. Hot chicken is messy and the cloth napkins was not doing it for me. I ended up up knife and forking my sandwich to keep the messy hands from happening. They also serve their fountain drinks in small cups filled to the brim with us. A few swigs and my drink was almost gone. For a place serving spicy food, a soda fountain with refills or readily available water should be available and out front. Now to the good part. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich at their hottest level which also came with a side. I got the waffle fries. The sandwich was voted one of the best dishes in the state by Texas Monthly and I can see why. It was a hefty sandwich with a large chicken breast seasoned to perfection. I always love when their is a little hangover of the chicken outside of the bun. The chicken was crispy but juicy inside. The heat was there but totally bearable with the cooling component of the delicious slaw on top. I usually pick pickles off sandwiches, but the pickles here were good and the acidity added a pleasant touch to the sandwich. The waffle fries were also excellent. They were the battered and seasoned kind which I love. The food most definitely saved the overall experience on my visit here. I will say it is one of the better hot chickens I have had in Houston. Now if they go back to their roots and not try to be fancy and do better on their customer service, I can see this place sticking around for a long time. With my experience, I don't see myself hurrying back anytime soon.

I've lost count of how many times I've been here, so this review is long overdue…read more Yes, it's inside a gas station (Pitstop Express), but don't let that fool you. Some of the best food spots hide behind gas pumps, and this is one of those spots. The chicken stays consistent every single time. Finding good fried chicken in Houston is strangely harder than it should be, so I usually end up frying my own. But here? The chicken is seasoned, fried fresh to order, and just... good. Like, no gimmicks, just good chicken. Ordering is simple: place it at the counter, pay at the register, hand your ticket back, and then wait about 15 minutes for your food. And they've got fried okra, which always hits. The cooks keep the vibes up. It's all takeout; no seating so while you wait, browse the snack shelves. You'll probably spot something you haven't seen since childhood (depending on how far back your childhood goes). They also serve breakfast but Ive only had the chicken. This is definitely a go too when simple wing craving kicks in and I don't wanna cook.

First let me say the chicken was amazing!!! However, they were out of all sides except tater tots…read morein which they didn't let me know until AFTER I paid for fries. The wait was incredibly long even though they weren't busy, but the workers were kind and gave us beverages while we waited. Overall the establishment was clean and the food was good. Not my favorite chicken spot but I'm not against trying them again.

Solid hot chicken spot - Flavorful with a decent kick…read more The area itself is in the heart of Montrose where you've got some fancy bars/restaurants in the area. A big open lot with some food trucks and 2 random benches. Makes for a good late night dining spot after a night out. Standard hot chicken lineup with the sandwich, strips, combo, fries. I liked the halal options. The wrap with turnips did entice me a bit but went for the Sandwich + a side order of pecked fries. The service was efficient, got it out in about 10minutes. I liked the curry seasoning to the fries, the chicken was battered well and had a solid crunch/flavor. The sandwich itself is also a straightforward classic = standard brioche bun + pickles for garnish and a decent sized breast. I would say the "yummy sauce" is just a bit overwhelming for me, it's just everywhere when I unwrapped the sandwich.. It was a bit too creamy for my taste. Overall I liked the chicken and the menu for being halal, it was cooked well and the adjustable spice level is nice. But the Yummy sauce is sort of a miss for me. Not sure what's in it but too rich, 3.5/5, didn't quite stand out for me.
