This viral restaurant has fast and friendly service. The cashier educated us in the menu and we ordered the viral Hot Cheeto Balls. They can out fresh ! They are HUGE weighing 8oz each with plenty of meat and crawfish. I didn't care for the sauce because I personally prefer the hot cheese sauce but I didn't ask for it so I'm not sure if it's a choice. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of self seating and clean as is the restroom. We went around 6:30 and it was fairly busy but it didn't take long ! I give it 6/10 for flavor and healthy portions for 2/$20 or 2 balls and pasta for $40 and 12 balls for $100. We also had biscoff pudding and banana pudding which was good too ! I was excited to try HTX Food Plug after seeing it on IG! I think my expectations were too high because I was disappointed with the taste! The prices are already high and the food lacked seasoning & flavor big time. I'm not sure if it was due to the kitchen staff that day or what but the food was not good. I attempted to eat more thinking maybe it was just my taste buds, but I finally gave up & took it to go. I gave it to a homeless person. I really wanted to like this place, but it managed to disappoint at every possible step. For months, it felt like this restaurant existed only in theory. Every time I checked, it was closed. No clear hours, no consistency--just a sign and a lot of wasted anticipation. When it finally did open, I made a point of waiting for an evening when I was actually free and excited to go. That turned out to be a mistake. From the moment I walked in, the service was shockingly rude. Not "having a bad day" rude--flat-out dismissive and unfriendly. Simple questions were met with attitude, and it felt like my presence was an inconvenience rather than a customer choosing to spend money there. Then came the wait. Incredibly slow, especially considering how few people were there. Long stretches with no updates, no apologies, no acknowledgment that customers had been sitting around wondering what was going on. When the food finally arrived, the disappointment was complete. The burger was mediocre at best--nothing memorable, nothing special, nothing that justified the hype, the wait, or the price. And yes, it was expensive. Way too expensive for bland BASIC food and poor service. After all the buildup, the inconsistent opening, the rude staff, the slow service, and the forgettable food, there's just no reason to go back. For those who don't know Boudin balls are the ultimate in comfort food. They are a classic spin on Cajun culture. Boudin has pork sausage made with rice and seasoning, usually stuffed into a ball like casing. I've tried boudin balls all over since being in Texas, but none compare to what Htxfoodplug is serving up. I believe it's due to the crust on the outside of the boudin ball being something most of us grew up snacking on religiously... them good all Cheetos! The flavor, texture, and seasoning are absolutely consistent and let me not forget the cheese, on the inside ! The menu is on the white board closer to the front where orders are being taken. I recommend coming at least 30 mins earlier so you're not waiting too long. Hours are from 2pm- sold out Saturday & Sunday. Be prepared to wait in the heat, although there is shade underneath the tent, DJ spinning some r&b, as well as hip hop tracks & ice cold water on standby. It's worth the wait though. I ordered the standard "Pressure Balls" which are $25 for 3. You can pay with card or cash. It comes with a sauce that pairs well with the boudin ball, it tastes like a thousand island queso mix sauce. I guess kinda like a remoulade sauce. These boudin balls simply satisfy your savory soul when you look and bite into them. The customer service is on point. The lady who takes your order is super friendly and has something nice to say. Damn I tried these before when he had the food truck they were better then. I had been wanting to stop and finally did even after seeing bad videos reviews about it on TikTok . The service is quick if there's no line . The food is not good anymore pure rice and cheese in the ball isn't great . Definitely was better when he had to food truck I didn't see the owner around so I assume other people cook it now , that could be a reason why it doesn't taste the same anymore . Well with the drive from where I was staying. Everything was amazing! The pasta was rich and had shrimp and sausage. The balls were covered in hot Cheeto dust and was fire. Service was friendly and quick. Well worth the money. Highly recommended. read more

I've seen HTX food plug all over Instagram and now that they have a new location on telephone rd I decided to try it. I tried the boudin balls ($20) and an additional 3 wings ($6).. I was very excited to try the food but was gravely disappointed. The wings were very dry with little flavor and the boudin balls did not have the cheese pull like I've seen all over social media and tasted very bland taste. Will not be back. : ( read more

The boudin balls are over seasoned on the inside, the pasta tastes very plain but the wings are okay. The sauce is not cheddar cheese*** it seems to be maybe mayo and ketchup. Was very disappointed and I waited for 45 min-1hr. Someone even skipped the line to which they said nothing about. We have been following htxfoodplug on IG for a while now and finally found ourselves with an opportunity to endure the line (not too bad today and totally worth it!) to get our first taste at this phenomenon. The menu is simple and the recipe and process have been perfected. Our hot Cheeto crusted boudain balls came out fresh and hot. We waited until we got home to break them open, and they were still crispy out the outside and warm and cheesy on the inside. The entrepreneur and chef came out and chatted while we waited under a large shade tree and jammed to the tunes of the DJ. He was humble and welcoming. But about these balls! The crust provides a nice spice that surprisingly doesn't taste particularly like Cheetos but provides crunch and heat which nicely coats flavorful and tender cheesy boudain.
